Tried twice in PTS, and got half-way through. At that time i was farming vWGT, and i just couldn't start another RNG grind. Won't do such lonely chore until there is a token system. Never stepped into vet on live, but i have used normal to level up alts.

Beating it, not to hard.

Getting what I want, impossible

It seems people are tied to a specific loot pool in there. I've done about 25-30 runs, have had 6 bows, 5 restoration staff, 2 lightning staff and 2 axes. No other weapons, just those 4 keep dropping. Meanwhile my friends, who I helped with builds and talked them through it when they first ran it picked up the inferno 3rd and 4th runs. Makes me not want to play anymore.

With an average ping of 300 and common lag Spikes of 900 it's impossible for me to do that. As it is all about DPS I don't even see a chance for a healer based player like me.

I finished it with less then 300 cp on my nord magicka templar without undaunted passives and only purple v15 gear when it came out so its definatly doable

Proof? I must be missing something here. People are now chucking out scores of 550k+. What have I missed here? 2 weeks ago 420k was a very good score now I'm struggling to get on the leaderboard with it.

Yes

For those who have not gotten through it, just keep at it. I am no über leet player, but after some hard work and time, I got through it. Practice, practice, and more practice. There are mechanics that seem impossible and cheesy, but they can be overcome if you take a different approach and figure out what amount to tiny personal tricks to win.

I literally spent hours and hours and hours learning this thing. 160 lives just to get to arena 5 my first time, but it gets easier the more you do it. The third time I got to arena 5, and the time I actually progressed past it, I got to arena 5 boss in like 8 lives. By the time I got to the point that I was trying to work on the very last boss, I could get to him only losing like 15 lives.

The final boss took me an entire Saturday of wiping horribly on phase 1 and 2. It was terrible lol. But after all of the hard work, it just clicked and I killed him.

Just keep at it, that is all I can say. It may appear COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE, but it is not.

This is madness. I spent almost 3 days on the original Dark Souls Ornstein & Smough, and it wasn't nearly as much dread as a single stage in Maelstrom Arena.
Difficult doesn't have to mean un-fun.

No; I've finished the Normal version and that felt challenging enough. I am also one of those who can't even get past the first round on Veteran, and while I'm sure lots and lots of practice would help, dying 100+ times on a single encounter is not my idea of fun. At all. Since this is a game, it should be fun.

U need more damage then if you can't beat the 1st stage. 1st stage is all about damage.

It took me a while to make time for vMA. I don't play an MMO for single player instances and I prefer PVP. But when I finally took the time to finish it, I very much enjoyed the process. Before progress was saved, it reminded me of old school games that had to be finished in one sitting.

I'm way past my prime. I'm slower than I used to be. I'm not anywhere close to an elite gamer -- maybe I was 20 years ago -- and I was able to figure it out pretty quickly.

I truly believe half the problem is that most content in ESO is so easy that many become comfortable without truly understanding how the game works. Most PVE in ESO can be completed without any gear at all. It is usually an extremely forgiving game.

I read a lot of players call mechanics in vMA cheap. I did not find that. Everything has counters. Contrary to what you may read here, there are many approaches that may be successful. My PVP sap tank build from Nov got me to stage 6 -- yes, I actually sap tanked most of it using a block build when first experimenting.

If you find there are segments where you are being overwhelmed, it's probably because important adds are not being prioritized, anticipated, or the conditions that trigger them are not being recognized.
