Ok since hitting Vet 16, I've done 7 pledge runs, and all silver keys. I've killed the bosses, and the optional part, yet no gold key. So what do you have to do to get a gold key?

✭✭You need to do the veteran pledges, and follow everything on the pledge details, INCLUDING the optional step. If you do not complete the optional step, you will receive a silver key instead.Edited by DannyLV702 on March 18, 2016 3:34AM2 -
oburn✭Veteren Pledge, and as far as I can tell all steps are done, the optional step disappears, so I dunno. If you die does that stop you from getting gold?0

✭✭✭✭Certain veteran dungeons require you to do certain things to get gold.
Fungal grotto - don't go in the bubble.
Banished cells - have 3 deadroths alive when you kill the boss
Darkshade caverns - don't turn off the poison.
Just a few examples. If you're not getting gold, someone is messing up3 -
oburn✭Hmm, before I quit the game back like 2 months before Imp City, I remember those kind of steps showing up on screen if you had the quest selected. I've only been back to the game now for 2 weeks, but I don't see those option steps listed in the pledge quest, all mine say like Optional: Clear out all whoever is the boss of the dungeons followers.0

✭✭If the optional step only says something along the lines of 'kill all bosses' or 'clear the dungeon of undead' - then you are only doing the normal undaunted dailies with silver key being the max reward. There are 2 quest givers at the undaunted enclave - one gives the normal and the other the Vet.
For the gold key Vet dungoen, the optional steps will always be things like 'Kill xxxx without using a lever' or 'kill xxx while leaving 3 deadroth alive' or 'kill xxxx after reading something'. These offer the gold for doing them in 'hard mode' and silver if you do not complete the optional steps (not so hard mode).Australian on PS4 NA server.

That is incorrect. For vWGT/vICP, it's either 1 Silver key or 2 Gold keys. You cannot get 1 Gold key from them. You must do it on vet mode and read the hard-mode book to get the 2 Gold keys. If you do it on normal mode, you get 1 Silver key. If you do it on vet but don't activate hard-mode, you still get just 1 Silver key.Nightfighters ― PC/NA and PC/EU

✭Well there are some minor bugs. If you do it hardmode and wipe, you may have to redo the hardmode thing to activate hardmode in the dungeon.
For instance at Elden Hollow if you tried hardmode and your group wiped, you have to read the book again to reactivate hardmode, otherwise you will be doing normal mode the second try.0 -
