I think having a 12k shield in PVP and a 24k shield in PVE is plenty.
In PVP at endgame with NO points in health and all in magicka I still have 25k health (plus the 12k from hardened ward).
Pair that with lightning form and power surge that heals you every time you crit and you shouldn't have a problem. I guess you can even go destro/resto to make it even easier with healing ward if that's not enough for you.

lol Sorc shields are strong enough. They are on par with everything else. If your shields are coming down too quick fix you Max Magic and Champion points. It's all about the build sometimes man. I got plenty of Sorcs in my guild that have very strong shields even in PvP. I don't know but this could be a learn to build or L2P issue to me. My V3 sorc shields are pretty strong. I've faced some really tanky sorcs so they definitely do not need to be stronger. Like I said it's all about the build!

You said SORC correct? It doesn't matter if there is a cast time or not BOLT ESCAPE, CAST SHIELD if you don't want to get hit by a wrecking blow. Also, you know there is a key that you can press to dodge roll and block right?

ever heard of crushing shock? how about chains? ever heard of the fact we have 9k stamina... and dodge rolling and blocking leaves us open to a long CC which we will get absolutely murdered in?

This won't hold of sorcs if we don't receive attention like this... instead of one shield most sorcs use now, we'll see alot more shield stacking and resto staves to compensate for this weakness...which would only make fighting sorcs worse (believe me on this plz) in pvp, and more sorc exclusivity in pve because if we're all running resto staves....why do we need a templar?
in other words... not giving a small buff to ward at this point , will make the next patches sorcs adapt...and that adaption won't benefit anyone.

Subtly we've lost shield strength over the past several patches... and more subtle things are happening to them now on pts. We'll see the same 12k shield. but it's going to smashed and half our hp with it next patch because of all the modifications in pvp and certainly in pve.
And I love how everyone is saying this is a l2p issue...and then they tell me to layer shields.... the very scenerio I'm trying to prevent from becoming the meta. *sigh*

24k pve ward + 18k pve hp = 42k.
42k > 34k
Therefore one-shots not possible.
14k wb is a crit. Wards can't be crit. WB would never hit your ward for 14k. I don't actually believe any skill can do more than 10k base (non-crit) damage in cyro. Therefore 10k ward can't be one-shot.
Wards are insta-cast and can be spammed. With all this in mind what was your justification for wanting stronger shields? Put cp into Elemental Defender, Hardy and Thick Skinned as these reduce the amount of damage your wards take, from respective damage types, by upto 25%. There is your shield buff.

Hey man you are complaining about PvE killing your shields lol More Sorcs on Xbox NA have completed Maelstrom Arena then any other class hands down and the weekly is solid enough that you need at least a 370k score just to maybe get in at 100. NB come in second but no where near close to Sorc. Hardened ward is really good. Do you expect to just sit there and tank all that damage or not have to ward up??? Sounds like you want easy street to me. Sorc shields once again do not need to be buffed. Your build must not be good enough or you need to work at your rotation and awareness a bit.
Shields are great as they are. I can DPS or Tank any PvE and I can heal any of the non-elite Vet dungeons. In PvP, if someone is shield stacking, then they are sacrificing slots that could be doing other things, like damage output. If a Sorc ends up spamming shields, they're not doing damage, they're just staying alive, which does not win a fight usually. My main toon is a magicka Sorc and I have far less trouble killing another Sorc than a DK. CCs make me hate life. Good opponents with strong physical damage output make me hate life. And both of those are because magicaka Sorcs are not supposed to be "in your face" combatants. I'd argue our shields are good as they are. No nerf. No boost.
My defensive bar is Defensive Rune (to stop macro users, gankers and WB spam), Defensive Stance (mostly to re-reflect my own Frags after DKs reflect them) and Ward. I tried shield stacking and got killed more often by good physical attackers. With the new change to Mage Light coming, I'll drop Thundering Presence on there for the Major Ward buff, giving me even more resistance and movement.
Leave well enough alone.

shields don't get resistances. So there is no shield buff....
Wards can't be crit right now... but they are changing that.
Wards can certaintly be one shotted right now. excluding even people stacking arrows in flight, macro style bursts combos, and there have been plenty of times I've been knocked on my back by a wrecking blow and have some of my hp missing.
They need a small buff so they can go 1 strong attack for 1 ward. maintaining the historical balance. thats all im asking for. nothing more, nothing less.
Btw, a couple of points I feel I should make regarding Sorcerers:
1. If Sorcs deserve a buff, it should be more towards sustained DPS than shields. While I'm not happy about the state of damage shields in relation to Sorcerers, we still have the worst sustained DPS in ESO.
2. Shields are fine in PvE. While strong for soloing things like vMA, it's utterly useless in MOST PvE content as its nothing more than a DPS loss (like we need to lose more DPS) and your healer should keep you up fine.
3. Overload is unreliable. If ZOS really wants to make us a class reliant on Overload to do DPS, it shouldn't lock you out of your skills and light attacks of you attack too quickly. It's a broken skill and is probably the second longest broken skill in ESO behind Toppling Charge.
4. Lack of both a single target and AoE spam able ability...something every class has access to both of.
While the original thread was about shields, discussions should be opened to rework the class as a whole as the class could use some MAJOR adjustments...and last time I tried to make my own thread I just got trolled for it.

How many points do you have into bastion? Most my sorcs have 100 if not 100 close to it!

You don't need 100cp in bastion. 77cp -100cp amounts to 5%, with only 501 cp you're better off spending the extra 23cp somewhere they will make more difference.

Your right and wrong there it depends on how it feels to you. I tried this same thing with thaumaturge and I could feel my damage got lower even though I know what you said is only a little but it makes a big difference. plus if your at cap 167 that leave 67 points for other things which is plenty in the RED side.
