There is already an awesome counter to meteor: it's this exotic, little-known skill known as "Hold down the right mouse button when you hear that sound and see that white circle". It's amazing!

Multiple times I hold block (without swapping bars or anything) and still get knocked into the air by it, same with wrecking blow.
Even with full/nearly full stamina.

What? You thought that non-DKs with no reflects were dying to meteors left and right every day? There is so much warning when a meteor is cast that the only way you die to it is if you're out of stamina to block and get out of the AoE, but if that was the case, then a lot of other things would kill you too, not just Meteor.
As for reflection: It makes absolutely no sense that a 200-cost non-spammable ultimate could be reflected. Sure, reflect that cheap, spammable Overload. But not a giant rock from the heavens--that was always a stupid mechanic, and I for one am glad to see it gone.

The scene:
Sorc Drakilian the Golden engages Random person without harness Magicka
Combat begins!
Drakilian stacks shields, places mines and casts inevitable detonation.
Opponent is alerted by massive red circle! Begin buffs of random nature
Drakilian casts mage's fury
Opponent uses gap closer of random nature
Drakilian doesn't care and casts velocious curse swap-cancelled into a shield stack.
Opponent commences burst spam
Drakilian uses METEOR
Opponent blocks
Drakilian uses rune cage
Drakilian possibly uses Crystal frag proc
Everything hits at once! It's super *** effective!
Opponent dies!
Have sorcs, temps, and NB ever been able to reflect a meteor? quit crying DKs.
However, I think you should be asking for a buff to flappy wings if they are taking this away. They've made wings almost useless at this point now.

This is really all I was trying to point out. I have a feeling that the change will not be reverted, so I wanted to create a feedback post that presented an alternative opinion. Note I did not whine about the change, nor the fact that there is now still one class that can completely ignore meteors, but simply wanted to provide some thoughts about balancing.
The skill currently seems a bit glitchy, and I just would prefer to be able to block an ultimate this powerful in the upcoming patch and know that I will actually block it. I do not know how easy it is to fix making this skill consistently blockable, which is why I suggested alternatives.
