@UrQuan , yes and he goes for their eyes. And I would certainly like to read from the community ambassador his rationale why removing Aoe caps for damaging skills will increase the calculations ( unless he prefers his safehaven)
Sure because math and 7,8,9,10,11,12,13, etc checks is larger than 6 checks. This means more calculations! Seems simple.
The issue I see is that currently, the game has to calculate which targets receive how much damage. This involves caluclations of every player's distance to the "epicenter" of the AoE attack to deal the most damage to those closest to that point. In a scenario without AoE caps, there is simply a check if a player is in the target area. Further, as has already been mentioned, the damage coefficient would be the same for every player hit by the AoE (100%), so that calculation could be omitted as well.
I don't know which scenario comes out on top in terms of least caluclations, but these things should be kept in mind.
Removing AOE caps won't do crap to help lag and won't do crap to breakup zergs. No AOE caps make HEALING zergs easier.

Are you really surprised that ZOS has #NoETA on the patch notes?

... Are you kidding? Try to know at least a little bit about what you are talking about before you post. Okay so first off "Removing AOE caps won't do crap to help lag"- If AOE caps were removed the server would have to send messages for each person within range. The server already does this, at the present time the server calculates everyone who is in range of the AOE, then ON TOP OF THAT it calculates who the 6 closest people were in the single instance. So in other words it processes MUCH more with an AOE cap.
"Won't do crap to break up zergs"- This is highly debatable, but there is one thing about this that cannot be debated, if there were no AOE caps then balling up into one tiny area with a large group would run a huge risk of being killed by a small group of skilled players.
"No AOE caps make HEALING zergs easier"- Aoe caps on healing spells would not be removed,
No not to benefit a single play style to balance the game.
I don't know how you got to be a "Community Ambassador", but I would like to vote that you get demoted. If not for your lack of knowledge, at least for the fact that you reply with foul and unintelligent language and insult other community members integrity when they are only discussing a highly debated and anticipated subject.

When attempting to install PTS it simply says i don't have the hard drive space with out telling me how much space is needed. I can't remove Live ESO for room, though I really have no interest in playing Live as PTS is what will determine if ESO live is worth having on my hard drive.
So far doesn't look like ESO is in my future ... http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/245226/toppling-charge-is-still-bugged#latest
