What happened to the continuation of Vet Dungeons?

There hasn't been any information about this for over a year.

-Vet Crypt of Hearts released June 2014 (~19 months ago)
-Vet City of Ash released October 2014 (~15 months ago)
-Time since previous vet dungeon content: ~14 months

Should I get my hopes up that we will be seeing Veteran Arx Corinium with either Thieve's Guild DLC or Dark Brotherhood DLC? At this rate it will be over 5 years until we see a vet version of Vaults of Madness, which I'm sure everyone desperately wants.

I've been trying to push this question during ESO live, or get any sort of comment through any media, but I have not gotten anything in the past 8 months or more.

I suspect that the switch to B2P might have been the death knell for any further continuations. I hope that's not the case but they seem to be on the path of release a new zone every quarter and sell it.

Maybe they'll do a vet dungeon continuation DLC sometime, who knows. I just hope they don't give them the same treatment as the IC dungeons and just make the vet versions the same as regular with scaled up mob health and damage.

Will probably get the WGT/ICP treatment sadly.

Just slap on some more hitpoints and damage done and call it a day.

I have the same thoughts are @wayfarerx as it seems anytime anything is brought up about the base game areas the answer is "We are looking to focus on new DLC content right now" or "Would you rather us work on new content, or old content you already did?" (Which I may add IS kind of a valid point.. and those aren't exact quotes.. it's me paraphrasing from memory)

Anyways. If they wanted to sell me a small DLC bundle pack of the remaining I would absolutely buy it! (Okay, I wouldn't... I'm subscribed, but if I wasn't subbed I would buy it!)

I absolutely loved how the normal dungeon started the story and the veteran version finished it. I was a bit disappointed when Imperial City Prison and White Gold Tower were released and that was NOT the case.

Please Zos. I know you don't want to go back to old content, but it's NOT going back to old content... it's making new content that continues on the story of the old content ;)

I have a feeling this might end up being the case. All final bosses to most normal dungeons are different from each other, and this would allow them to make 2-piece undaunted sets without having to change the dungeon at all.

But I still have some hope they won't treat it that bad.

I don't think every dungeon SHOULD get a vet version. I like that some do as it continues the story, but if every single dungeon was "You cleared it out, saved the day, but something went wrong..." shortly after it would get monotonous. I like that we do have a variety of vet dungeons and they have a continuing story arc (especially City of Ash), so definite props to that. But at the same time, most dungeons are just pretty much the same, but with differing enemy placements, new bosses and an extra room tacked on at the end.

Some dungeons clearly have layouts setup for vet versions (such as the door behind the Songstress in Arx) so there's still a chance we'll see more, but I definitely want more variety in end-game content. ESO is kind of starved for it currently.

I want to see the part two of base-game group dungeons, but, they even stopped putting out expanded delves they were working on, so I have already given up hope for anything meaningful or somewhat substantial for the base game except bug repairs and class/race balancing.

I completely forgot about those as well. I guess it is sort of back of their mind, because a character would do it once and never return.

Yeah, I was hoping for Vet versions of Direfrost keep and Tempest Island because it would be a frost and lighting equivalent of City of Ash.

While I do agree, they definitely should go back and realese some new vet dungeons, I don't think this is the time to focus on that.
We are experiencing the peak of Eso population and finally the public concent is delivering mostly positive reviews, it's time to capitalize on that. It's now or never, this year is going to lunch Eso to the top MMos of the market for the next few or will probably be an average populated for the rest of it's existance. They need to implement the pretty cool ideas already talked about, we need an expanded world with features expected of a triple A game.
There will be time to go back to old dungeons. But for now I'm ok with new 4-man in normal and vet version per dlc.

Changing the system from Vet ranks to the Champion system doesn't imply the removal of any future additions.

The dungeons being called "Veteran Dungeons" is simply a name that indicates it is post-50 content. For all we know they'll be called Champion Dungeons when vet ranks get swapped out.

I tried to pick out some unique helms that haven't been used yet. And for reference, Lord Warden is in there on the far left, and this picture was released when Undaunted 2-piece sets were first announced.

This persuades me a little bit that Vet Arx Corinium might be a secret treat in the next DLC

No that won't work because the skill and stat points that make VR chars differ from pre 50 are all going to be within leveling so please explain how you foresee this making sense to continue development for a system that is being removed completely. It'll be like regular fungal grotto at level 25 and then hard mode at level 30 or 35 which is weird and doesn't work so well as you get closer to 50.

Honestly it'll be better if they just use the vet dungeons as the dungeon and remove the easy ones. Give ppl double skill points for completing those and move on.

You could call them champion dungeons but CPs don't work that way

@Fat_Cat45 Yeah there's some awesome stuff in there. I think your predictions on the Lamia and Dreugh are probably correct as well.

Btw, look at the characters to the left and right of the one you labeled "Watcher". New shoulder on the left and giant scary clannfear helm on the right. Also, the "Lamia" has a new shoulder. There are definitely new dungeons and vet versions of certain current dungeons on their way.

I just hope the new trial (Maw of Lorkhaj?) is incredibly difficult!

As someone said, can't have everything at once, gotta focus on real priorities.

Shame, I wish we could see vet VoM at least, it's such an amazing place and the mechnics are actually pretty interesting n nonvet already if people can't just faceroll everything, vet could be such a masterpiece...

I agree. I might go out on a limb and say that adding veteran versions to old dungeons might actually remove some of the monotony, as grinding the same dungeon every day, a couple times per week, is already monotonous.

I thought they did an excellent job with CoA, and I would really like to see a veteran Blackheart or Vaults of Madness. I could keep myself busy on these new veteran dungeons for quite some time, if they'd just add them. Even the next 2 months of anticipation for TG and DB would seem shorter if we had more dungeons to do. I'm quite tired of vIP and vWGT, and have what I need from them already anyway. Pretty much the only thing left to do is pvp, and I can't even attack someone without lag...
