What is the tank limited too?

Ive been doing banished cell with my friends but when we were fighting the banshee boss, i would soon get hit by his bolt and one shotted in the dungeon a lot...and then they revive me and then again, one shotted, is the tank able to keep aggro on him or do i just to need to be prepared to just dodge?

There were a few times i would clearly dodge an attack though and still die so im a bit confused...

Im fully capable of keeping everyone alive but i cant help it when i get one shotted. My max hp is a little over 10k, and i see at the end that like 14k was dealt.

I use mana food to keep my mp up for heals but should i use hp potions?

We went through 3 tanks too...

Not sure what boss you are refering too, but in both veteran and normal version I can think of no boss that can't be faced tanked. Aka just taunt and block all the attacks. Even the Daedroth in veteran, his fire thing, just stand in it. It hurts so little you can help the dps more by just keeping him still in it. So if you can say what level you did it at and if it was the veteran or normal version I could probably help a bit more.

Um if your referring to the last boss that bolt attack is random. It hits any one either thought tank has aggro has happened to me and a few groups I had before. Pain in the arse I know just how some bosses attacks work.

Tank can, and really must interrupt that bosses channeled ability or it deals rather large amounts of damage. At least that what I recall doing.

Some boss moves seem to strike anyone but the person they are aggroed to. the last boss in tempest island kept charging at me even though he was aggroed to the tank until I wiped due to getting hit by the wind first and being unable to block. 10mins with just the tank the boss never once used that move.

Not sure what lvl you are but for a TANK your HP is low.

You need to push for higher HP so FOOD and everything into HP for glyphs and gear choices that would increase your HP.

Most builds for stamina/magicka push for 20k at a minimum HP. A Tank build needs solid regen and high HP pool.

    Hope that helps~

Haha im a healer im NOT a tank, i just dont understand why the tank in group couldnt help prevent the boss from one shotting me, i dont know if this is a normal mechanic, if its my fault, or the tank is just doing his own thing and not paying attention

That depends on if this "bolt" (not sure which boss you are referring to):

    1. Can be interrupted.
    2. Is a random target ability.
    3. Can be positioned away from the group.
    4. Can be dodged.

Even as a healer 10k hp is low as hell. 16-20k hp is recommended for end game. and only 16 if you know you can survive it.

Most likely it was an un tauntable attack that hit you. Some bosses have mechanics that hit a random target no matter if they are taunted or not. And if that is the case you either dodge or block it, you must have enough hp to survive either or both of those option at all times.

Yes, 10k health is extremely low for any member of a group. As others have said, 18k to 20k is good - only go lower if you know you can do it (sorcs for instance with hardened ward).

When doing that boss, I always make sure I have a damage shield on to help absorb the damage that will come. I still don't know why exactly the boss sometimes does a lot of damage, and sometimes less damage, but in any case, going in I know that it's capable of oneshotting people.

I wouldn't say a tank *needs* to use food for at least the easier group dungeons (non-IC ones), one can use drinks as long as one still makes sure one has enough HP for tanking.

Should i take health food for better health? What do i do with the lack of hp i have

This question is like asking people how to improve your run time. The only answer is to run faster.

And in this case it's get more HP.

The most common food to use is the blue on with Max HP and Max Magicka. But you might want to use some Healthy traits on your jewelry or pick up a set bonus or a enchant as well to get your HP into a good number.

10K health... at what level? At VR16, that's way too low. At lower levels, that's fine.

For the Cell Haunter, I don't think that beam's interruptible. You just need to heal through it, I think.

Green and white foods are trash. You should use blue or purple foods. Try Health/Magicka blue foods.

I am pretty sure that boss just picks someone at random and hits them with that Soul Assault style attack. Taunting will not help. This is not a tank issue.

I will go through some options since I'm not sure of your experience with this game, and also for the benefit of anyone who may not yet know about these options.

You didn't mention your character's level - my comment indeed was about v16 level characters. But yes, if you're a magicka build and not tanking, I would recommend going with blue food - it gives you both more health and more damage/healing power for many magicka based skills. Other means of getting more hp include indeed changing your character's attributes or the enchantments on your gear, or getting jewelry with the Healthy trait. Some skills such as one morph of entropy also boosts your health, but you would have to have it on both bars in order to really benefit from it, so I wouldn't recommend using that as a means of boosting your health in this case.

If you suffer from magicka regeneration issues when not using drinks, try using the really effective Atronach mundus stone (for pve, a good basic option is to use the Divines trait on small pieces of armor - sash, boots, shoulders and gloves, and the Infused trait on the rest of the pieces, the big ones), magicka regeneration or spell cost reduction glyphs (at least purple in quality), or a set such as Seducer (crafted) or Willow's Path (crafted). Magnus is another crafted set which helps with magicka management, but its five piece bonus is more random than in Seducer, and I've heard some rumours about the spell damage bonus in it not working correctly at the moment. Kagrenac's Hope is also a good general set for magicka builds. Try to have your gear upgraded to purple. These days, it also really pays off to have legendary weapons when they're v16, that gives a lot more spell dmg / weapon dmg. On the other hand, I would not upgrade any non-v16 gear to legendary because it costs too much compared to the benefits.

If you do not have many Champion Points yet, regen can indeed be a bit of an issue, which is when you need to rely more on sets which provide additional magicka regeneration and skills which are cost effective magicka-wise (healing springs, harness magicka (the light armor skill), draw essence (DK skill, morph of Inhale)). Using Light Armor (at least 5 pieces) reduces the cost of your magicka skills significantly when you have invested points in the Light Armor passives. Alliance War support skills also increase magicka regeneration passively, but in order to benefit from that, your character needs to have a relatively high alliance war rank. Vampirism also boosts magicka regen by 10% when a vampirism skill is slotted on the bar, but there are some tradeoffs for being a vampire (more fire damage taken, and in PvP, some skills can do a lot of damage to you).

    @Chieve

The cell haunter is the first boss of banished cells the move sounds like drain life (can check death recap), it is a random attack. There are a lot of bosses in general that will have a random target or group target attacks, regardless of the tank keeping agro or not.

I think most healers i run with will use magicka and health food, they keep their magicka regen up with sets like seducer x5 + magnus x3. With heavy attacks from restoration starves. And recovery enchants on jewlery. This may help you to avoid certain one shots, and not need to use recovery drinks. both sets are fairly easy to craft for starting out. but regardless, in answer to your question of sruvival with your current set up:

It can be hard to dodge frequently as a magicka user, and dodge animation is long(er), but using block will also stop most of these attacks being a one shot. There are many bosses with mechanics where an individual or the group is best to block. i suggest for this boss you stand a little further away so you can see the animation/projectile, and have time to dodge or block appropriately

alternatively you can try and block cast depending on the heals/class/buffs you use. If you are still having problems please remember to take down the specifics. There are some very knowledgeable guys here that can help. even better if you can screen shot
