I missed Forward Camps, no lags, string animation of BoL, and battles where you can rush into zerg and proc 5 valkyn meteors simultaneously to kill 10 people in a sec.
Forward camps used to bring the most terrible lag. You have a bad memory. People would swarm out of those camps from everywhere on the map over and over and over and over for 30mins until the whole freaking factions are all in the same area causing huge FPS losses.
I'm glad that forward camps are gone until they come back with a decreased range and a different mechanic that allow only people in range to use the camp._adhyffbjjjf12 wrote: »Zos need to watch what their doing, gw2 have just released an expansion that is pretty damn good it has to be said, and the interesting thing is their wvw is massive and gorgeous, the fights can be huge - and with everyone aoeing with massive effects and synergies, it's an eye opener that's for sure, as it highlights how badly eso is doing pvp perf wise.
Are you actually compairing the graphics of GW2 with TESO? lmfao
Once again, I don't understand why everyone complain about lag. I run the game in medium with a 4k resolution (3840x2160) and I get a constant 35-40fps during huge battles. People complaining need to either buy a new computer or to stop being so stubborn at playing the game at high/ultra.

.... i7, GTX980, and 16GB's RAM are all overboard for ESO. Maybe if you want to play Ark Survival that would ring true.
There is a legit FPS problem somewhere. I go from 100 FPS to 5-6 in rare cases, only in PVP. And it ain't my rig.
I can play ESO on ultra w/ i5 3670k, GTX 570, and 12 GB RAM (only about 3GB is used by ESO at a given time)
I do indeed play on medium in PVP doe.
Performance issues are definitely a real factor in ESO lets not kid ourselves here.
But in my case, it's ping rates not FPS the majority of the time.

And if you are reffering to ping issues, I personally think that it got much better with 1.7. I haven't seen any massive meteor spam since quite some time. Ping still spike to 10k in rare occasions but skills and weapon bars are much more responsive than 1.6.

Your solution to lag is not a solution to lag at all. It is a solution to low fps which while might be a problem, definitely aren't the biggest one, at least for me.

I wld believe that only if u r playing at times like 10 am to 3 pm,otherwise nope. Or i guess all this ppl making videos with terrible performance and fps drops, are just edited on purpose to make ZOS look bad right.. :Dbecause the game and its performance is so great
This has [snip] nothing to do with your settings (unless ofc u have a lego pc). We all know it.

I never said in any of my posts that people were making videos and lying about it. I said that on my side, I don't have any major FPS issues in any situation (usually down to 30-40 during big battles). I also said that I do get MS spikes on rare occasions, but not as much as during 1.6. I play at any time of the day, especially at primetime when the server experiences its highest activity.

So in other words, you're saying that lag = latency ? No. Lag can be either related to FPS or MS. It is valid for both.

The difference is that my client hardware FPS lag only affects me. Server lag affects everyone.
I can't throw any amount of hardware at my PC that will prevent the server from crashing so bad that there's a 5-10 minute rollback.
Might want to look for another campaign than Azura Star.
Also seems ludicrous now for all factions to pretend 15-25 player ball group spams on one server equates to a competitive environment.
With this much effort on forum posts, you'd all could have coordinated server allocations across factions.
But something tells me a majority of the player base secretly LOVES the lag/playstyle but complains via here for credentials.
If you want change, be that change. Embrace the small group gameplay, move servers, advocate for 1v3 mentality, reject the elitist guild mindset.
Then let ZOS see those numbers and organize pvp changes based on the user base statistics, not forum posts.
In the end, as I said before, situations where the ping gets out of control don't happen as much as during the 1.6 patch. I have not seen meteor spam fights on the flags for quite some time.
Well AD was running a pretty massive zerg ball last night, looked like 24+ people..
at one point I'm pretty sure it was 30+
But even when they weren't around..I got an FPS issue for some reason where I had to relog for it to go away.
Ping in general was just awful..and my abilities were not firing off on time

Zergballs ruin server
Everyone moves to new server because playing against Zergballs sucks
Zergballs have no one to fight against
Zergball moves to same server that everyone else moved to
(back to top)
There's a few guilds that do little more than group up, spam proxy det and wirlwind, and never ever deviate from that. It's just not fun to play against, so people move servers to get away from it. Then the fun last for a few days before the Zergballs realize where everyone is and switch campaigns.

So people who say that it only gets worse have a very short memory. I would say it goes up and down without any major improvements. I am still confident that things will get better at some point.
CU looks like trash compared to TESO anyway (in my opinion).

First the CU Screenshots you saw are from pre alpha, that's something Im certain of. The graphics right now are close to eso but still not finished. You really compare a tech alpha without real textures with a finished game like eso? Good job at not informing yourself before posting.
Anyway I run a gtx 980 + i7 3770k@4.4ghz + 16gb ram, still 12 fps in huge fights.
My graphic settings don't even matter, the cpu is at the limit and not the gpu I use.
Even if I play at the lowest possible resolution, the lowest graphic options and without Addons my fps stays low.
The hardware I use isn't broken or something either, otherwise I wouldn't play Witcher 3 etc. on max settings @ 3440x1440.
What does it help me to have a ping of 1k instead of 10k? It's still *** and unplayable.

Being a *** isn't trendy these days, and hopefully you won't wet yourself again when I say gw2 has gorgeous gfx (as does eso). and back to my point, eso has huge SERVER side issues, well known and understood. This is what in referring to ofc when I say lag, not the frame rate my rig pumps out. (I have a Mid clocked CPU and Gtx 760 and gfx performance is fine)

Simple solution for everyone is to move on. Almost been a month now for me : D
It was a lot of fun but let's be real here. It's not gonna get any better. This was their first mmo and the structure of the game shows it. There's so many things done poorly and at this point it would cost them a lot more to fix it rather than make more content with more problems. It's not like this is uncommon for company's doing something for the first time.
I'd re-sub and play again if they just accepted that their open world pvp is broken and made some small scale stuff like an arena or something. Then again, they do advertise some pretty cool videos for pvp with tons of people in a keep with no lag so I doubt they'd actually try to improve this stuff.
