    I feel like the only people that are saying no are vamps...

    I am a vamp but stay mobile and actually move away from the massively unrealistic big red circles that warn everyone that bad stuff is coming!!!!!!

    (slight note of sarcasm there for dramatic effect, even though the siege is so woefully underpowered I feel as though I can go afk for a hour and still be alive)

    How about adding more skills and passives to the Alliance War skill line? Right now we have Assault, Support, and Emperor. How about adding something like Siege (maybe unlocking new siege weapons, boosting damage or defense with/of siege weapons, specialization in particular siege weapons which could mean reloading faster or hitting from further away, etc.)?

    Thank you Brian. Its always good to get feedback on something that seems to be so controversial and know from the staff themselves that the players are not being ignored.

    Thank you so much Mr.Wheeler this news just made me and my Guild mates so happy.We can actually defend keeps against EP zergs again hopefully this comes with the DLC for consoles.

    I think that siege needs to do 2 things:

    - ignore battle spirit
    - ignore AOE cap.

    I also think that purge cost needs to increase because it is just too cheap now with CPs and has become a spammable ability.

    This in order to give some chance to few against many of defending a keep.

    Except for undermining, scaling ladders and towers, I'm not sure what could be implemented... I can't think of many more ways to siege. And what I listed would possibly be very flawed. I'm interested in what you think could be added.

    Having been a long time player in NA PC Azura's, I've seen too many sieges as of late starting with 1.7 where siege does jack *** against zergballs.

    I was always told that proper siege placement can stop a zergball dead in its tracks. Farther from the truth. Maneuvers grants zergballs free pass and $200 after GO either up into the top deck or flag rooms. Purge is instant cleanse of any siege-based dots or debuffs such as disease, damage, and slow. Proxydet...don't get me started on that. I'm sick and tired of seeing septuple Venn-diagram raids waltzing their way into keeps.

    The damage siege has been doing since 1.7 isn't enough to field a proper defense, even with evenly matched forces and solid positioning. OIls on the top will only kill the most *** of breach groups (EP pugtatoes), cats and bals at close range tickle at most because a zergball will have half its members spamming heals/purge to begin with, and proxydet isn't a viable option to stop zergs because THEY'RE THE ONES USING IT. I swear trebs do more damage to siege weapons than the people operating them. I used to have to dodge roll all the time from a bal shot because I'd die, but now I can stay put and spam dark deal to heal myself and I'm good to go. That's ten thousand kinds of ***.

    Siege was in an okay spot after 1.6. It was a BIT over the top at immediate launch then subtle tweaks got it into a little nice spot, but subsequent nerfs to alot of valid counters that used to work on zergballs just made them stronger: "bugged" WoE, oilpot snare dispel immunity, heal-reduction debuffs. BS didn't do anything but empower zergs, because they're running even more heals, more aoes, more shields. It's basically a repeat of the old Pulsemonkey groups of yore.

    Not only that, most zergballs don't even have to actually clear the keep of defenders. Keeps are very poorly designed for internal defense to begin with, but a zergball can just dogpile the flag and its done. Doesn't matter if defenders outnumber them. If it isn't the sheer amount of zerglings its lag dealing with particle effects and dps calc and you're dead before you realize you've died and your damage has negligible effect.

    BS was not the solution pvp needed. More valid counters should have been implemented or worked into alot of skills that get the short end of the stick. A keep could have 20/20 defensive siege up and it will not work. There could be 4-5 oils on either postern rampart, 2 cats by each door, 2 bals on each stairwell, 2 bals on the top deck, 3 in the nave and 1 in the rear, and it wouldn't do a lick of good. As long as that zergball can spam heals and purges and aoes without any repercussions, defenders will undoubtedly fall if not from lag than just from the sheer impossibility of being able to kill that zergball.

    This is what our map looked like through the whole night, because after midnight when more people went off, there was still a strong group of 20ish AD with Emperor, ball-grouping their way across the whole of Cyrodiil.

    We had about 5 keeps left after midnight, and me and a few others were defending each one with absolutely no luck.

    I was using 5+ Oil pots, 3 Fire ballista's at a time and whenever I managed to kill the odd 1, they'd instantly get revived and healed up.

    Sadly thats usually what I see in Cyrodiil. Of course the color tends to change from time to time(sometimes). I've yet to see two zergs clashing and if I did it has only been a few times. It turned into a red zergs at this time, blue at this time, yellow at this time. When your at the other factions zerg time most have the guest campaign set to a campaign dominated by their faction.

    Imo the pvp here needs a few changes.

    Siege Weapons should do some serious damage to people. I get that they dont want them to become the go to for PvP. But the idea that a boulder that can smash a brick wall cant flatten a person?

    No, siege weapons should be used against the doors, the walls, and other siege weapons.

    If there is a need for mass destruction abilities, then implement them as abilities to slot. The game lacks a few powerful mass CC abilities that could be used to control the masses, and some core game mechanics to dissuade people from zerging.

    Id like to see some Campaigns shut down and Guest Campaigns removed. Id also like to see the Pop in IC to be separated from Cyrodiil. I wish the PvP community was bigger. But its not. And quite often its too easy to go run to the guest campaign when most of the people in your Faction slips into Cyrodiil or decides to log.

    <-- Exactly and well said. Boulder should be able to do it. Also for Ballista to hit the person with such power that gets flown back and Arrow goes through and death.

    Yes! I think it would break up the zerg AND encourage the zerg. Buffing siege would create risks to balling up. I say that you want to encourage large group battles, but also give teams the ability to counter them. I'm okay with dying from a ballista shot if I'm dumb enough to stand in the red. It also makes taking out enemy siege a priority during the battle for a keep.

    I miss beta where PvP was insane but fun, people didn't really know how to play, it was mostly about fun and no one had uber abilities getting some oil pots down was enough to change the battle. Now they don't do anything and zergs walk through them.

    Pray they won't note it in the same way they noted CPs in the noob campaign, because they have been noting it for about 4 months now and results are...incredible, to put it mildly.

    According to you. But it used to be that a well-placed siege could save the day. And you had to be aware of the enemy using one. Awareness is a part of all fights and can be considered skillful play.

    hope my earlier suggestion gets a peek, i really think it would help ease on lag strain, give reason for defending sieges as well as less sige numbers means less rage when randoms down use the full 20 cap as it'll only be 10 :)
