Huh, I went back to look at the comment that I was replying to and it was formatted such that you were writing it. The first quote goes back to the last part of the second paragraph in this comment: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/2387137/#Comment_2387137 I don't see what the misquote is, but if I find it, I will fix it.

This however is irrelevant to my OP as I understand there was an issue and must be fixed hence I have no problem with tonight's maintenance, what is relevant is that you state in the first part of your post that it is a convenience thing but why was it okay for over a year from launch to have maintenance start at a specific time (which you would assume is during their standard working hours) and now suddenly it's inconvenient and had to change, that does not make sense at all.

Sorry, should probably clarify, I meant this quote:lordrichter wrote: »SienneYviete wrote: »Actually you are incorrect the maintenance message for today was only posted after the server came back up after the issues they had with the maintenance yesterday as explained here forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/227015/na-and-eu-megaserver-maintenance

I just removed it in my reply because it wasn't relevant.
Thank you @SienneYviete, @Nolphi, @mystercee, and everyone else that can actually see what the issue is, and doesn't have selective sight in this thread. It's extraordinary the amount of people in this thread that only see what they want to see, and only argue what they can argue against, yet ignore things they don't have a chance in refuting. There has been two different scenarios that will help the issue, either: a) put the maintenance times back to the way they were, or; b) change them to 9 or 10am EDT as suggested by @Nolphi.
Yes, as many have said, it'll be prime time somewhere around the world, no one here is denying that. But ignoring Oceania and thinking it's not a major part of a player base, is just downright ignorant. Having said all that, I would love it for a mod to come in here and say something like: "Woah, don't worry guys, this is just temporary leading up to Orsinium." I can live with that.
Talking of mods though, why would one come in here just to rouse on people and not address the issue? If the issue was addressed, it would in turn, stop (or at least hinder) any further arguments between players

I agree, but an alternative offline mode needs to be introduced fast, everybody is getting tired of weekly downtime, especially eso plus paid members.

No one ignoring Oceania. It's likely though that Oceania and SEA combined together are not close to the amount of players NA itself given to the game...though don't take my word on it.
Also actually, many in this thread understand the issue quite right, it's just some of you people seems to always thinks that anyone who dare to speak not on your side as those who don't read and understand.
You see, SienneYviete there keep saying that i don't understand that his issue is with the changed timing, while he quoted me exactly saying that i do understand that his issue is with the changed timing. Because i understand that you have issue with the changed timing, i say that you making it an issue at all shown your self-important...which simply looks the same as seeing you say that any timing is fine as long as it doesn't clash your prime time, on another word, f**k for other prime time as long as they don't touch the Oceanic prime time. Again, pretty self-important :P
Is DCUO considered successful?Korah_Eaglecry wrote: »UltimaJoe777 wrote: »Maintenance is necessary to keep the servers running. A couple of hours to keep us away from not being able to play at all is not something I'd choose to complain about...

Youre new to MMOs arent you? Because there isnt a successful MMO out there that doesnt have weekly down time. The amount of players and interactions going on in a game in the span of a single day is absurdly high. A week is putting a lot of stress on those servers. They need to come down weekly for either patches or to reboot the Servers and give them a bit of down time. If youve ever ran your Computer 24/7 never turning it off and continously doing inquiries and other actions youd quickly see a diminishing performance from the Computer.
The Server itself has to come down for a hard reboot. No getting around it. The idea of an alternative just screams 'I have no clue what Im talking about'.

I would pet it, and feed it, and call it George.
Lol, did you also know they have huge sharp claws, smell to high heaven and drown your dogs in dams? (They jump into the middle of dams, which are water catchments on farms, lure your dog in and hold it under the water).
Trust me... you don't want a Kangaroo
