Hi guys,
My character got stuck in the wall while playing the Maelstrom Arena.
When I try /stuck, it says "You cannot use /stuck while in combat".
Any alternatives?

Vaktus

Could you try killing your game client (you may need to manually close out of it), and wait 15 minutes before logging back in? That should reset the instance and place your character outside the arena.

I certainly hope this type of issue will be fixed before going to the Live server ...

Thats the whole point of a pts. lmao. OFC they will do their best to make sure these hardcore bugs dont make it to the live server, but *** happens sometimes. As pts players, the more data we give them - the better.
I also tried this on a healer and a tank, it seems neigh impossible because you do such little damage

Just saying.

I was just thinking that this is going to be an issue, then I saw your post. Most of these fights rely heavily on burning down adds, and most tanks are going to struggle with this. Healers I think will be ok if they switch up their bars a little, but anyone with a tank build is going to hate this arena.
I just completed stage 6 (Champion of Atrocity) that has an enrage timer. In other words, if you don't kill her fast enough, she enrages and one shot kills you. Otherwise known as a DPS check. In any case, a tank is going to have a very hard time with this fight.
I can't help but wonder if they think these things through at all. This isn't a dungeon where tanks can rely on DPS. This is a single player raid. This means that in order for someone that plays a tank to beat this phase and similar phases, they are going to have to rebuild their characters.
A good tank won't have much dps because they are built around mitigation. You would think ZOS would have considered this.
A DPS check in a single player instance is very obviously a bad idea unless you want to alienate a large portion of the community.
Plus it's hard enough as it is already to find good tanks and people that are willing to tank, just for this reason.

Er, remind me, which one is that? I lost track of the names and round numbers. I just know them by things like "the poison arena" or "the ice arena" or "the one where the boss reminds me of Nerien'eth".Alphashado wrote: »I just completed stage 6 (Champion of Atrocity) that has an enrage timer. As a tank, I also carry around DPS gear. I did normal Maelstrom without any sigils using my DPS gear. I might give it another whirl tomorrow in my tank gear.Er, remind me, which one is that? The one DPS check that I found was the ice arena, where if you don't kill the boss fast enough, she breaks all the ice platforms Skoria-style.

The ice arena isn't really a dps check. As long as you keep the boss kited away from the ice platforms and kill the troll as soon as he spawns (small dps check I suppose) it can be done at your own pace.
The one I'm talking about is where the Giant Red Crab Lady chases you around while you try to keep spiders from putting webs on the podiums so they can turn yellow and protect you while the angry mudcrab mob comes to kill you. The first few times I did this while I was learning the fight, I noticed that if you take too long, the boss enrages and basically one shot kills you. Death recap said enraged damage or something like that.
If you carry a dps set around with you as a tank, then you are prepaired for this. That is a fair point. But many tanks don't. The game requires tanks. They are in HUGE demand, just like any other MMO that has the "holy trinity" of Tank, DPS, Healer. Yes of course in ESO you can get by using all types of hybrid builds, but Veteran Dungeons and Trials require dedicated tanks.
Since they are on short supply already, I just don't think it's wise to lock single player content behind a dps check. You should have just as much of a chance to succeed using good tank skills and technique, or good healing skills and technique.
I just feel it's a bad idea to essentially punish those who have built their character to fill those roles. A good tank should be able to complete this content using smart play, mitigation and technique.
I could probably take the gear off my templar, put it on my DK tank, and succeed. But that's kinda beside the point I'm making. DPS checks should be for group content that is designed for pure DPS.
Hmm, I didn't notice that mechanic. In fact I tried several times to see if I could damage the webs encasing the pillars and I wasn't able to. The only thing I was able to do was kill the spiders before they had a chance to encase them. Perhaps this is a bugged mechanic? We you supposed to be able to actually use skills to damage the webs, or is there an actual mechanic that removes them? If you are supposed to be able to damage the webs with dps, then it must be bugged.Alphashado wrote: »Normal or vet? That's a confusing mechanic its not actually a dps check, but a mechanic check. If you break the webs on all five pillars they "resonate" and stun the boss for a good 10 seconds, and reset the enrage timer completely. So that fight just becomes a problem of, can you kill the hoarver at the proper time and kill the spiders re-spinning the webs.
Its not a dps check, but would just take FOREVER without any dps gear.

If in fact you can prevent the enrage timer by using a mechanic, then I stand corrected and it should be doable with a low dps tank build.

So that little useless hoarver thing that does no damage and agros onto you and follows you is important. If you kill it next to a pillar that has webs on it, the hoarver will blow up and remove the webs.
It's never clearly stated in the hints and you probably wouldn't figure it out without getting really lucky lol.
@ZOS_GinaBruno I had some issue with Maxus as well, in the regular version of the Arena.
1) He summons his adds too often imo. Between the time he calls them back and summons them again, you end up spending most of that chasing after him since he teleports around like a maniac. Trying to keep track of him and focus my damage on him is difficult when his adds swarm me and I'm forced to dance around to avoid the wandering explosion misty bomb-things, then chase him down some more b/c he decided to pop to the other side of the Arena.
2) This might be b/c of the mitigation bug on mobs, but even when I was able to unload a lot of solid blows on him, his health was barely dropping. I'm able to burn through his adds fairly easily though, so I'm not sure if it is the bug, or if he maybe has too much HP/Spell Resist.
I didn't spend very long trying to fight him, just about 20 minutes, but I can do more running around later to see if things are the same.
I thought that could be the case, or that maybe one of his adds was healing him or something (or maybe they all were somehow). So I'd try to focus on them, but he calls them back after such a short time that there were always a few left over regardless (especially during the times I had to dodge-roll several times to avoid the roaming explosions).@ZOS_GinaBruno I had some issue with Maxus as well, in the regular version of the Arena.

I had the exact same issue. I tried a tanky build and therefore struggled with the adds. I believe he heals himself by calling his adds in. At least that's what his health bar indicated. I spent around 40 minutes getting him down to 50% and lost the will to carry on. It was fun until that point. Maybe I'm not good enough, but I was hoping for some success at least with the normal mode. I don't expect to be any good with veteran.
