I'm really happy their doing something about the CP imbalance of course. I know so many returning PvP'ers that left after a few days, because of it. I meet so many new players that just sort of gave up and quit, because the disparity in CP felt to overwhelming.

Yea that is probably the 2nd best excuse for loosing against other players. 1st one is "hes using macros". Im playing PvP since release, did good before and after CPs, playing solo for 99% of the time i spend in cyrodiil or IC. I really believe that by far the most players simply dont do solo pvp, which is fine. But do you think it matters if you are at 1k or 100 CP when you get rolled over by XX players ? This is the like the "normal" way to die and it happens everywhere and everytime :)

Most of the best PvP players dont even have many CPs cause they are not grinding... well.

I dont see a big problem with CPs in PvP and since nobody cares about macro usage and leaderboards because trials dont scale, i dont even see a problem in PvE.
And IF CPs make a huge difference it would be fine cause the guys who worked their asses off to progress their characters has deserved a bonus. I dont say that the amount of boni you can get is totally fine, they could have easily make a 25% bonus to a 10% bonus or something. But taking away the chance to "improve" is just anti-progress which makes this game less worth to play.

So please try not using cps and then come here and tell me again how much of a difference cps make. I have 98 of the *** and i do feel the difference quite clearly.

But please go on and tell us how cps dont matter, and how its all mythical skills. Best pvp players dont have much cps? I highly doubt i will meet such a player with less than 300 cps.

Right, because they play a lot and not grind a lot. They dont belong to the guys with over 1k CPs. simple as that.

You guys HAVE all figured out this is yet ANOTHER reason for vet players to STOP playing the game, right? Progression stops at the cap..

Actually, its opposite of what you said and even others. The veteran will grind more to reach the cap and the noob will quit (pvp)due to the cap. But if they give 10 cp every month then it would be great.

Wow.. seriously? So, when the cap hits 1500, ZoS should "give" players.. 150 CP, just for hitting VR1? And, did you miss the part that the veteran probably will be OVER the cap, because the goal is to "normalize" play for the gamer who plays 2 hours a week vs those who play 40 plus? Those vets would leave the game immediately.

This is by no means an even handed or fair-to-all solution.

Because imho there is no such thing as an even and fair-to-all solution. And that does not lie within the CP system.

Some people want endless progression because they feel any time played beyond cap is "wasted".
Some people want limitations because they feel any time played with no hope to catch up is "wasted".

I don't see ANY even and fair-to-all solution to that. You cannot expect ZOS nor anyone to solve such a contradictory equation.

My personal suggestions can be found in the following links @anitajoneb17_ESO

    CP Catch-up mechanic concept:
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/184576/champion-points-catch-up-mechanic-concept/p1

    Perpetual end game progression concept:
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/199791/perpetual-independent-end-game-level-progression-concept/p1

CP Active Passive bar with CP Burn concepts:
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/219662/cp-active-passive-bar-cp-burn-concept/p1

Don't prevent players from playing and benefitting from that play but put a good catch-up mechanic in place.

I knew you had written some stuff but was actually quite lazy looking for it.

And I truly admire your creativity !

While I'm not so fond of the 1st and 2nd ideas, I really fancy the concept of "Burn CP" or "CP as consumables". Sure it deserves thinking and fine-tuning but it sounds like an excellent idea.

Thanks! Part of the thing I like about these forums is how I can post an idea and, sure enough, I'll get some other ideas from what other players say.

I'm a pretty isolated gamer who doesn't know many gamers in my real world social circles. Those that do play games play games like Madden and Call of Duty. I'm pretty much isolated as an RPG player so my conversations about ideas like these are lost on them. This forum is my haven for those ideas!

Threaten lawsuits about being locked out of content you paid for because you already had them before the caps took effect.

ZoS WILL back down. They have proven it time and again.

Much as I would like that to work on any MMO, it never will. Its in the agreement you accepted that things are subject to change and they are not legally responsible for cash bought content being taken from you.

Wow.. just. so many times you are wrong:

Classless game. (YES, weekend Mod, it isnt in your script, but THAT is WHY I joined my first beta was seeing that advertised, "a classless game like Skyrim where you could play the way you wanted".) They apparently actually introduced classes the Beta I started. In the old Beta forums were threads about how MMO players would not "understand" a game without classes, players demanding classes to give people a start on defining their character, so they gave them the four we have.

Skipping the tutorial. They added a check because Beta testers were bored with playing through the tutorial. (BTW, the new, new tutorial is.. kinda light compared to the old new one. But the tweaks in the Prophets prison make that room more worthwhile, except.. dang it.. not as many things to loot.)

Starting on the Starter islands (Know why they are called that? Ever wonder why your char story feels contrived at the front and you have to look for a guy to immediately send you to another location? Because Beta testers who went through the Starter islands a hundred times wanted to skip them.)

Ever wonder why the mobs around Davon's, VG and Daggerfall are wet noodles after completing the starter isles? Its because those same players complained the mobs around town were too "hard" after skipping the starter isles, so they lowered their levels.

Cadwells Silver and Gold: Players demanded to be able to play all alliances story on one char. Felt they didnt want to have to start a new char to see the other thirds of the world.

Veteran levels: Players needed somewhere to go after hitting level 49.
CPs, players needed somewhere to go after hitting top VR.

Upping VR10, VR12, VR14, VR16 to allow progression because players were bored.

"We wont nerf skills. We prefer to buff other skills instead." (Hello, 50% nerf to everything in Cyro.)

<Edit forgot> "We will stick with the sub model."

Sigh.. soo many more.. Anyone else want to continue?

Yes, they listen and respond to their player base.. And, how would the Mona Lisa look if Leonardo Da Vinci had listened to the masses? Or Frank Lloyd Wight, if he listened to the masses about how to build houses? Or, the Wright Brothers, if they had listened to the the masses about men and flying?

We get to a basic problem. Listening is good, when things are bad. Bugs are bad. But, when you change your vision, the "big picture", of the vision, things get lost, complicated and no one is happy. Its like the liar, who has to keep building on that lie to keep the initial lie alive. Eventually, even the liar begins to believe their lie.Right now, ESO is not the game most of us envisioned in Beta. Why? Because that vision is long gone, being replaced by hundreds spraying graffiti on the painting, making room additions on the house and tearing off the wings of the plane because "they don't look right"

So the initial DK was OP.. Why was it? Was it because the best players played it because it had the best skills? Well, find out why the NB/Sorc/ is weak, buff that. Those of us who are dawdling along leveling DK healers dont notice how uber tanks they are or how big their DPS is at end game. But, when you make us so we cant play against on level mobs, we notice, and complain.

That can probably be repeated by every other class:
"NBs need stealth nerfed because they are OP in IC" How about the rest of the game?
"Sorcs need nerf, because thier shields are OP in Cyro." Well, are they OP over the landscape?
"Temps are spamming Puncturing Strikes" Well, what about the normal player. Are THEY spamming it?

Can we go back and start this whole game building process over again?

It would be like your boss telling you, "Ok, We are capping your income at 30 hours a week, but you still work 40 hours. By the logic of preventing players from using the CP that they earned.we should have a gold reset. I mean its not really fair that all these players with their millions of gold can JUST buy the best gear in the game. Everyone should be limited to 100K and they can slightly raise the cap as the other players catch up so we can all use the same gear. Also any v16 mob should drop the best sets, no need to run the new vet dungeons because its not fair that some players cant complete that content. Why are you penalizing players that play your game and choose to get CP rather than making gold or AP? Shouldnt you cap those by this logic? Does this make any sense? No @ZOS_RichLambert

P.S> Can I have a refund from when the game went buy to play to the release of Imp City since I didnt really get any benefit from supporting the game as the 10 percent xp was all in vain with a cap?

If they do this I would just stop playing and move onto something else. I have less than 300 CP now and I have no problem with people that have over 1000. Why? Because they put in the time and effort to achieve that goal. There's a big problem it seems in not just this game but many if not all games where people seem to think they are entitled to an easy button/quick fix to obstacles they encounter in games and are unwilling to accept the fact that just maybe, there's someone out there better than them at a video game.

Really all they need to do is whats been suggested in the past, create a campaign option that uses either no CP or grants everyone a set amount/limit and let the rest of us with social and problem solving skills continue to play the game with the challenge we enjoy.

Wait so ..can someone explain to me how does this cap actually help a new player catch up? Lets say the cap is set as 500 now and 750 next time and 1000 one full season after. How does that help the guy that just comes in get to the new cap? Unless there is an accelerated CP gain if you are way under the cap that guys will still have to do an ungodly amount of exp grinding .

The solution was always to have a non linear exp requirement per CP, but this is of course ZOS we are talking about.

No Zos Fixes exploits when few guys get items, advantage and than they nerf to oblivion. Also a guy who plays only in cyrodiil can never have 1k points just doin that... maybe 300-400 max

I have over 15,000,000 gold... ZOS are you going to limit the amount of Gold I can earn/have because I am too good at earning gold?
    Are you not entertained?
