I'm really happy their doing something about the CP imbalance of course. I know so many returning PvP'ers that left after a few days, because of it. I meet so many new players that just sort of gave up and quit, because the disparity in CP felt to overwhelming.

Yea that is probably the 2nd best excuse for loosing against other players. 1st one is "hes using macros". Im playing PvP since release, did good before and after CPs, playing solo for 99% of the time i spend in cyrodiil or IC. I really believe that by far the most players simply dont do solo pvp, which is fine. But do you think it matters if you are at 1k or 100 CP when you get rolled over by XX players ? This is the like the "normal" way to die and it happens everywhere and everytime
Most of the best PvP players dont even have many CPs cause they are not grinding... well.
I dont see a big problem with CPs in PvP and since nobody cares about macro usage and leaderboards because trials dont scale, i dont even see a problem in PvE.
And IF CPs make a huge difference it would be fine cause the guys who worked their asses off to progress their characters has deserved a bonus. I dont say that the amount of boni you can get is totally fine, they could have easily make a 25% bonus to a 10% bonus or something. But taking away the chance to "improve" is just anti-progress which makes this game less worth to play.
But please go on and tell us how cps dont matter, and how its all mythical skills. Best pvp players dont have much cps? I highly doubt i will meet such a player with less than 300 cps.

Actually, its opposite of what you said and even others. The veteran will grind more to reach the cap and the noob will quit (pvp)due to the cap. But if they give 10 cp every month then it would be great.

Like... what ?This is by no means an even handed or fair-to-all solution.
Because imho there is no such thing as an even and fair-to-all solution. And that does not lie within the CP system.
Some people want endless progression because they feel any time played beyond cap is "wasted".
Some people want limitations because they feel any time played with no hope to catch up is "wasted".
I don't see ANY even and fair-to-all solution to that. You cannot expect ZOS nor anyone to solve such a contradictory equation.

I knew you had written some stuff but was actually quite lazy looking for it.
And I truly admire your creativity !
While I'm not so fond of the 1st and 2nd ideas, I really fancy the concept of "Burn CP" or "CP as consumables". Sure it deserves thinking and fine-tuning but it sounds like an excellent idea.
He said they'll be resetting CP if you're over the cap once Orsinium hits.
Jump up and down.
Beat metal pans.
Cry
Scream
Moan.
Threaten lawsuits about being locked out of content you paid for because you already had them before the caps took effect.
ZoS WILL back down. They have proven it time and again.
Much as I would like that to work on any MMO, it never will. Its in the agreement you accepted that things are subject to change and they are not legally responsible for cash bought content being taken from you.
If you are one of the few people with 600 or more CP, what makes you think that you shouldnt be on the same playing field as everyone else? Because you kiilled more NPCs? People have jobs, families, social lives.
Just because you can play 10 more games of chess than I can each day, doesnt mean that you should be able to start each game with 4 queens.
People think they will take away Champion points. No, they will simply remove them from the tree and you can't use them untill next phase. You still have them saved, just unable to use.
The person responsible for the CP system is currently jobless last I heard. They know it's a hot mess.
It's going to take some time to fix it.
Especially with only the dozen or so people left at ZOS.
Also: the no auto reset of skills after major changes is one of the most ****ing idiotic things I heard from this company.
"We listen" ZOS says... well you are listening to complete morons apparently *smh*
Why wouldn't you want to respec for free after a major update??? I cannot fathom a sensible reason.

Wait so ..can someone explain to me how does this cap actually help a new player catch up? Lets say the cap is set as 500 now and 750 next time and 1000 one full season after. How does that help the guy that just comes in get to the new cap? Unless there is an accelerated CP gain if you are way under the cap that guys will still have to do an ungodly amount of exp grinding .
The solution was always to have a non linear exp requirement per CP, but this is of course ZOS we are talking about.Flattedfifth wrote: »Yawn at this post. This will, literally, affect like 30 players (at best) out of *millions*...
LMAO....this guy....Millions ... nice one.

They DID talk about a vague catch up mechanic. However, catch up to WHO? if they do this, expect a lot of the top players, out of those who are left, to /wave bye.

LOL.. not all of them are exploiters. And, the way ZoS fixes exploits is often to make them easier for everyone to use. See the stairs to the third floor of the mile gates in Cyrodiil.
