@mrskinskull
I looked in the emotes section, and there already is a "surrender" type of emote...where the character just holds his hands up like he was playing cops-n-robbers.
This should work fine.
I don't see a real need for a quick-chat emote with words above the head for something like this when they have a very small number of the actual text ones as it is.
The lowest form of ganker. Pretty much guaranteeing they won't get engaged.bertenburnyb16_ESO wrote: »while I was doing the quests in pvp once a long time ago, I got ganked 2 times by a camper waiting at the quest npc in the town

The best part about finding those was returning and slaughtering them, since they generally weren't as impressive when they didn't have the jump on you mid quest dialogue.
OP, it could be a potion, 30 minutes or so. Precludes you from getting engaged, but also prevents you from PvP engaging.
Another possibility would be similar to 'attacking the innocents' now, if you use the '/PleaseDon'tHurtMe emote and then PvP engage, your DPS and armor gets cut in half and damage received triples for 10 minutes or longer.

That's why Cyrodil scares me so much.
I'm a weenie.
You're scared of dying... but only if it's to another player? Why? You don't get a repair bill, even. You don't use a soul gem, either, like in the dedicated, designated, extremely large and majority of the game world questing zones that have no possibility or mechanic to allow for pvp. Why does it scare you to die in Cyrodiil in particular? Food for thought.

I know it won't always work to ask your enemy for a temp truce but there are times when I don't really want to kill a lone quester but I just can't be sure he won't attack me for my trusting nature.
You might as well wear a neon "please kill me "sign...
That's what I'd do if I saw someone do an emote like that
Honor isnt something you can teach. Either you have it or you don't.
It's pretty dishonorable to state your intent and acceptance that you are interested in fighting in Cyrodiil by zoning in, and then crying foul when someone else carries through with it. Cyrodiil is an RVR zone. It has some non player characters related to quests there to give something to do occasionally, and help concentrate a little of the small scale action. Cyrodiil isn't a questing storyline pve zone that just happens to allow pvp. No one goes into a dungeon and complains that other players are only killing monsters and they aren't allowed to hit eachother. Likewise, no one should be going into an alliance war player versus player specific zone nd then complaining that others are enjoying it as intended: a battlefield.

I think it's absurd to put PVE quests in the middle of a PVP area!

It is an ego issue, similar to fear of rejection.
Losing to another player is not like losing to a computer. There is a witness to the loss and a sense of inferiority that goes with it.
As someone with a large ego, anxiety over character death is something that happens to me.
Managed to get over the issues with dying to other players.
Still cannot commit to group content though; and do not group with anyone other than my girlfriend in PvP.
Do not like feelings of letting other people down, and each death in a group setting means a shortcoming at a cost to teammates.
As such, do not do it.
Avoidance is a very common response to situations an individual considers potentially hurtful. Some people deal with concerns of feeling embarrassment better than others.
I lived in Oakland CA. No it's not... Oh, wait... You were talking about the game.mrskinskull wrote: »mrskinskull wrote: »I get that it could still be abused but I think there are a subculture of players who would use this to great effect.

No its awesome. Its thrilling to think you might die at any point.

I was questing in the area and came across a enemy player. However as we played the lute for each other two NB's from my covenant sliced him in the backFare well you Nord of EP. May you continue to play beautiful music.

@jkemmery , it's the candy in front of the gingerbread house. How else would someone with reservation about an entire zone get enticed to test the waters?mrskinskull wrote: »I get that it could still be abused but I think there are a subculture of players who would use this to great effect.
