'I am only questing' emote.

Is there any interest in adding a 'I'm only questing' emote or a 'truce' emote for the people in PvP running quests.

I know it won't always work to ask your enemy for a temp truce but there are times when I don't really want to kill a lone quester but I just can't be sure he won't attack me for my trusting nature.

Most people probably won't respect it since anyone questing in Cyrodiil is pretty much an AP balloon waiting to be popped. Some will respect it, most won't. Usually, if you have you weapon drawn, sheath it and back up slowly... if you're showing other players you're not a threat they may respect that. May.

Keep in mind, most players WILL be wary, and expect you to attack them at any given time even if they honor it, so... give then massive space.

Wouldn't matter. Somebody will still attack you and slaughter you, no matter what you do.

That's why Cyrodil scares me so much.

That's because there's no benefit to letting an enemy player go. They may be questing... they may be requesting backup to help take you down. It's hard to know, and most players make the assumption of self preservation (kill or be killed).

I get that it could still be abused but I think there are a subculture of players who would use this to great effect.

Yeah, as a PvE player, only twice I ran into an enemy player (questing) and they didn't either kill me (or attempt), or call for backup. It's a risk you need to take to get those questing hubs done, which I really like. Makes questing there more exciting :)

If you're finding it really tough, try making an event out of it and going with a group of guildee's.

Go into a server that your alliance has a very high population on and the other two do not. They are called buff servers but suit questing and grinding delves just fine.

I can manage but that usually involves having to slaughter the poor quester. I would however honor a truce if offered.

I would also bargain for the truce seeker in our area chat as. A sign of honor. I think it could be a good idea. If players could be around each other for a few minutes without trying to kill each other they could be invited to PSn parties.

That opens up a whole new level of coop. What about coordinating small scale PvP fight clubs easily?

At your respective Alliance gate is a Bounty board with quests available to Kill Enemy Players (sometimes divided by Class).

Personally run my PvE dailies when I have the general enemy players quest.

If I see an enemy player while questing, well, they are a quest objective as well.
Maybe I will win the fight, maybe I will lose the fight, but at least there will be a fight more interesting than the PvE mobs.

I usually stay stealthed, wait to see if any enemy players hand in a quest, then whisper them asking for a non-aggression truce. If they accept, great, if not I go to another quest town until they leave :P

If that's the attitude, then, what's the point! I'm not out to kill anybody (unless I have to or they're in another alliance and I'm obligated to). Seems a little paranoid to me! Wait... What was that sound? AHHHHHHH!!! Run away! Run Away! RUN AWAY!. And this is exactly why going to Cyrodil scares the bejeebers out of me. Why? Oh Why? Do they give you that option at level 10 where the only thing that's going to happen is that you're going to get squished?

I notice they only give you 30 days to go. Does that mean that, if you're not willing to go get squished immediately, you can never again access Cyrodil? Do you have to go at least once to have access to it in the future?

I'm new, so I'm just wondering.

Regarding your other question, every 30 days Cyrodiil provides the player with a prize based on how many Alliance Points they generated in that time frame.
The timer starts over, but nothing else changes.

/cry or /beg is probably your best bet.

Seriously, if you're trying to not engage, then don't engage. Put your weapon away and hope for the best.

You're going to find more people that disregard than comply, though.

Most of the time, seeing the little Red/Blue/Yellow shield above your head is enough to warrant execution, simply for sake of survival.

I mowed down a VR1 questing in a delve just yesterday on autopilot. Was burning a boss and saw the shield on the other side.

You have to be cautious, run with a group, or take your chances.

Most people won't stop to ask.

The general rule is to try to leave people be at the quest turn in points or lowbee's that are map gazing in the middle of the road. But beyond that, anything is fair game.

If you don't engage someone when you see them, you're not necessarily doing them any favors. Cyrodiil is intended to be a rather unfriendly place. If you 'let someone go' without so much as a warning shot, how to you think they're going to feel when they see the parade of scroll defenders as they stand there and /wave?

About a month ago, while getting skyshards, I came around a corner and was face to face with the enemy. Now I'm not very good at pvp, so I took a block stance and was getting ready to get run over. The other guy started doing jump jacks. After a few seconds, we just sort of went separate ways.

    Definitely this.

Not going to lie, used to be a predominately PvE player before joining ESO.
Decided to take a chance with ESO PvP and, once I got my ego out of the way, it became a dynamic and interesting new aspect of the game.

Can totally relate to the fear players feel, and the desire to try and abstain from PvP completely. That was exactly me in other MMOs.

Turns out, I was cheating myself.

PvP, especially the random PvP that comes when someone tries to gank me at a quest hub, is the best portion of this game.

If ESO were pure PvE, would have left months ago.
