Always.
Definitely this.
Not going to lie, used to be a predominately PvE player before joining ESO.
Decided to take a chance with ESO PvP and, once I got my ego out of the way, it became a dynamic and interesting new aspect of the game.
Can totally relate to the fear players feel, and the desire to try and abstain from PvP completely. That was exactly me in other MMOs.
Turns out, I was cheating myself.
PvP, especially the random PvP that comes when someone tries to gank me at a quest hub, is the best portion of this game.
If ESO were pure PvE, would have left months ago.

But would you let the passive questers pass unmolested ?
No, this is why you don't bring a lute to a sword fight.mrskinskull wrote: »

Regarding your other question, every 30 days Cyrodiil provides the player with a prize based on how many Alliance Points they generated in that time frame.
The timer starts over, but nothing else changes.
You can come and go at your leisure.

Whew! That's a relief. Eventually I get over my terror from my initial visit and go back for mokre masochistic activities.
Thanks!
One last question though. Obviously level 10 is WAAAAAYYYYYY too low to go to Cyrodil, but, is there a more optimal level to give it a try and be really, really careful, say level 20 or 30 or 50 or V14 or with 10K CP?
Just wondering. I do want to give it a chance, but I don't play well with others. I get stabby and that gets me killed.

Most that have some level of experience (translated: no longer getting their ass handed to them religiously) will generally leave be someone they do not consider a threat. So, make yourself not be a threat.
Engage first, and expect to get slaughtered, though. Problem is, you never know which kind of person that is until it happens.
So, always expect it's going to happen.
Someone's always near. Someone's always watching. Crouch, use the nooks and crannies the game provides (even in delves), and know that the next enemy player that's working on the same quest you are may not live by the same rules as you do (or may be vengeful as he just came across the same circumstance himself.)
The further you get from home, the more cautious you'll want to be.
Also, @Samadhi speaks the truth.
Engage in PvP with extreme prejudice...as it will grow on you.
Ahhhhh...you're one of those...mrskinskull wrote: »Merlin13KAGL wrote: »You have to bear in mind, no emote is going to change what someone is going to do.

I don't know about that. Like I said earlier, I would like to be able to leave people to their questing but can't be sure of their intent. I tend to be the predator in the equation, to be clear.
I am going to do so. Both my Sorceress and my Nightblade are at 10 now and should be able to hold their own for a little while. It would be good to get the experience, since I've never done PvP or grouping before (at least not successfully). One last question though. Go at 10 and do the tutorial and get the skill points. Choose one of the non vet campaigns, for sure. Come back when you get weapon swap at 15. Grouping is actually your best bet out there unless you're really awesome or a sneaky ganker type.
Non vet PVP is actually some of the best

I notice they only give you 30 days to go. Does that mean that, if you're not willing to go get squished immediately, you can never again access Cyrodil? Do you have to go at least once to have access to it in the future?
I'm new, so I'm just wondering.

@Nestor, @Denmoria , it's just a system produced email, so it shows a 'expires in 30 days' tag.I notice they only give you 30 days to go. I never noticed the 30 day message, but then I never even thought of going to Cyrodiil at L10. I only have two characters that have entered a campaign. Both of them after they achieved VR Ranks. And both of these characters were parked for about two months at L30 or so, so no way was there a 30 limit on them.
Well... Yes. Isn't that kind of the point?CapnPhoton wrote: »I can see this getting abused quite regularly. It would seem to be an easy way to get around in the war under the guise of minding one's own business.

I know it won't always work to ask your enemy for a temp truce but there are times when I don't really want to kill a lone quester but I just can't be sure he won't attack me for my trusting nature.
That's because there's no benefit to letting an enemy player go. They may be questing... they may be requesting backup to help take you down. It's hard to know, and most players make the assumption of self preservation (kill or be killed).Wouldn't matter. Somebody will still attack you and slaughter you, no matter what you do.

They are far enough from keeps and strategic war points so its obvious when someone is there, he just minds his own business and wants to do pve content.

That's why Cyrodil scares me so much.
I'm a weenie.
