it's not the same. Those common horses have "common" colors and take 200 hours more to reach the cap. (which is 10 days of gameplay/subscription time in most cases).

All the horse colors are "common".

Now if we had something like this buttermilk buckskin, it would be uncommon:

I reject your points. It is clear that even within the tiny minority of players posting here not everyone agrees there is a problem, and therefore not everyone agrees on a solution as for many no solution is required.

When I bought the Imperial Edition I didn't expect to get the best horse, I expected to get a pretty modest one, but to get it early on and without having to spend in-game money. It wasn't the whole purpose of my buying the Imperial Edition, it was part of a package that seemed to me to be worthwhile and I haven't been remotely disappointed. Did I expect it to be capped? Of course I did, in fact (as one who didn't go near the game in beta) I was rather surprised to find the cap was as high as it is!

One of the things that attracted me to the game, and draws me further into it now, is that it isn't one of the modern MMO clones that holds my hand every step of the way. Did it spell out in the small print every detail of the horse's specification either when I ordered the game, when I bought the horse or when I first fed it? No it did not, and I'm personally very glad of that.

There is no problem here so far as I am concerned, and therefore the question of a solution simply doesn't arise.

Thanks for the post. I read 3 guides and all the tool tips yet still wasn't sure about all the particulars until reading through the thread. I was under the assumption of the first three points you had assumed as well. Cheers

@jojothefojo, this thread is a year old and, of course, really outdated. This cap no longer exist. Always check the date of threads to make sure the information is stil relevant.

@jojothefojo the horses operate much differently now than what you've read here (may 2014). As of today each of your characters has a riding skill which you level up independently of what horse you have. The horses are all the same and are account bound to be used on any character you've made.
