I would like to be able to pay gold to change hair styles. I would pay crowns to get access to additional hairstyles (if I liked them, and probably in packs of 5 each male/female for 500 crowns.) I would like to have traveling barbers, and you run into them on the roads randomly. Each barber has different styles available, and for fun different voicework and personality. And just like in real life, you are basically trapped while your hair gets cut and you have to listen to them drone on.
If you insist on haircuts being for crowns, the only way I'd do it is if it were included in a subscription and you could get one haircut per month subscribed (but doesn't have to be 30 days apart, so I could get a haircut on the last day of a sub month, hate it, and get another haircut the next day.)
I think it would be fun if the barbershop were a recurring quest you could get once a month, if gold were the cost.
I do think that we should get some appearance change for gold, not real-life currency, because the character creation appearance does not match the in-game (or even login screen) appearance.

give us choice, please. And if someone wants bright hair colors, let them dye their hair. It would be much less jolting to me than the stupid character names (gamertags) I'm seeing, the stupid character names I'll see if we get to see character names, or the dumb "I'm running around naked killing monsters" outfits.

Sorry I'm late back here @Gidorick,
I meant that, depending on the hair stylist's own background, they would only know a specific set of haircuts. So a dunmer growing up in the back40 would only know dunmer styles.

I love that idea. Would have worked wonderfully in a sub-based game but a game like ESO:TU with a cash shop... they'll more than likely just sell hairstyles in the Crown Store.

Now, maybe there be a small selection of Gold-purchasable haircuts that are distributed as you mention @notso. That would give a reason to go and seek out other barbers!

Should definitely offer hair/beard changes for in game gold.

And then bigger changes, like full appearance changes, though crown store.

There are many of us that need to make more serious changes than just a new haircut.

    This is COMPLETELY Pay-to-Win!!

If another player PAYS to get his hair done in a different style, and I'm fighting him in Cyrodiil, he will have an UNFAIR ADVANTAGE! I will be SO awestruck by his hair style that my reflexes will be slowed down.

    Plz no Pay-To-Win!

    LOL, that's a good one.

Anyway, what it would really make it P2W is giving that long beard a Magicka, Health and Stamina increase by 5% :)

Note: I wouldn't mind that actually... ZOS, can we have that? ;)

    Pleeeeeeeease...

I was just being sarcastic :)

Anyway, ability/char enhancing stuff (XP gain scrolls/drinks have NOTHING to do with that, *just for all the trolls out there) should never make it to the store, never.

ZOS needs to make money. Many of us would prefer to do things like buy new hairstyles and tattoos than to have XP potions and the eventual hypothetical "Champion Amulet".

I would be very unhappy if there was a pay wall but I have an idea to counter that.

Set up shops with high gold sinks and give the option to buy the same things with crowns. Then the player who bought it can either:
    1. Use it or
    2. Give it to it the barber who in turn allows another player to buy it and use it at a discounted price. Player receives gold for the item.

    How It Could/Should Work
    1. Prices for the auctioned ones would be hard coded so the price remains the same and you don't have prices dropping insanely low
    2. Item given to the barber shop
    3. Player receives x gold
    4. Item would be slightly discounted
    5. Players have a choice to use the discounted items or full price (maybe on the choice, unsure if this is best)
    6. The way it picks the ticket used should either randomly select who's ticket/item gets used or done in some manner that ensures one person can't buy up lots of tickets and dump them into the shop, preventing others from making gold

    Goals with this model
    1. Let those of us who don't feel this should be part of a paywall, pay with gold
    2. Allow zenimax to make money off it
    3. Allow those who may be poor in game to find a way to make gold while supporting zenimax at the same time

I would love if someone could help elaborate on this as I'm sure there's a better way with similar style/outcomes.

That would essentially allow players to guy in game gold with Crowns. It seems like they want to avoid that @Sidney.

True. Personally, i just want a simple barber ticket (or whatever you want to call it) and also a name change ticket just in case i get sick of my name :)

As i said before, anything that enhances your char or your abilities should have no place in the crown store or game whatsoever. I thank ZOS for that, so far they are trying hard not to include anything like that but only the future will show, at the end, we all want more content and features that not only takes time to make but also cost a lot of money, and they gotta make that coin somehow.

Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.

    Remember the Face Sculptor?

Barbers should be more common and less expensive, but ingame, lore-friendly ways to alter your entire appearance are available to the citizens of Tamriel.
Okay, the rich citizens of Tamriel.

The Face Sculptor in TES5 allowed you to revisit the character creation screen for 1,000 Septims. Drakes have a lower value than the Septim, so a 10,000 or higher cost for ESO's face sculptors sounds appropriate. At the very least, face sculptors should allow you to fully re-customize your face. Bones and all. To go closer to our in-lore example, the face sculptor should allow you to re-customize your entire body. This leaves out Race, Class and Name selection, which would be reasonably left for the Crown Store. Or not. The in-lore example goes further than body customization by letting you completely remake your character. Face Sculptor is really a misnomer at this point, but that is what they are called.

I'd dearly love to see face/body sculptor added to this game. It NEEDS to happen. But we also need a LOT more hairstyles, adornments, tattoos, makeup, facial hairs and scars as well.

This needs to happen. I'm actually shocked that its been over a year and it hasn't.

When can we expect something? I like my character, but a minor nose tweak or haircut option is very much needed.

I know this is a bit of a necro, but maybe different regions in the game offer racial-specific haircuts in addition to the base haircuts for your race. For example, a Nord getting a haircut in Auridon would be able to purchase normal "Nord haircuts" available in character creation, but also elven style long hair. Also they should separate "Accessories" into several slots so the player can have a beard, an eye-patch, earrings, etc at the same time.

If they add this, I expect everyone at launch to get a free use.

No this is not a I've been playing for ever, give me stuff. But based on the fact at launch we were unable to Zoom into the Character to see the changes we were making.
My first and loved toon, does not look like how I had hoped, so I would love to go back and change his appearance.

I LOVE this idea and we totally need separate accessory slots. Why is an Argonian's facial horns an accessory? Makes no sense.

I would like if you could change your character's build.

I think this doesn't really break immersion either, since people can clearly get fatter or become more fit.

i just get annoyed when my character looks a certain way in character creation and then in game he looks different from how I imagined he would.

I actually think all of this is a big waste of time and money. lol Why games just can't let us access the character creation option to fine tune/change hair styles/markings etc (or have the need to change a High Elf's voice from a pre-teen asian girl because you forgot to sample it first) is just lame to me. It's a fun part of any game. --and ZoS could still sell you some DLC hairstyles or what ever else you desire. I'd rather them work on actual content and fixing the game... how hard can it be by letting us access the character creation screen -that already exists- be compared to opening shops everywhere?
