We unlocked dyes with achievements. Would it be so strange to unlock certain cosmetic changes like hair styles with achievements.

I can appreciate that we are in a different world now that there is no more monthly payment, but lets be creative. The Crown store walks on the edge of Buy to Win, but cosmetics shouldn't matter. Either way, I'm excited to be able to change my character.

I actually hate the dye system being locked to achievements so, please, no.

Although your prices, for changing something as simple as removing jewelry from your face, are outrageous, I'd like to see this feature soon. And I'd put my money down for some better hairstyles.

I'm hoping for long hair. Really long.

I think since we pay gold or crowns to respec stats, that physical changes to our character, respec'ing their appearance per say, should be treated the same way.

So since ZoS has given us absolutely no idea how any sort of "barber shop" might be implemented maybe we should be discussing our preferences for that? I really hate the way SWTOR does it. You have to buy a single hairstyle from the shop, used on one character one time and you can't change it again unless you buy something else. Logically that just makes no sense, I wear my own hair lots of different ways and wear it far differently for an evening out than I do for going hiking and camping. So if I have to buy a hairstyle from the store I want it to go into my costume tab and be unlocked for all my characters and as easy to change into as changing my outfits. That's really the only way this is worth real money to me.

Of course what I'd probably rather see is an in-game barber with only a REASONABLE in-game gold cost that would simply open up ALL the hairstyles from character creation and new hairstyles would be added there as they became available.

    What's your preference and why?

The current hair styles aren't exactly lore friendly to begin with.

    • 1000 Gold - Change Hairstyle
    • 1500 Gold - Change Adornment
    • 2000 Gold - Change Hair color
    • 5000 Gold - Change Head/Body Marking
A fifth option should also be available
    • Crown Store - New Styles

Quite nice Ideas. One thing that jumped out at me though:
Take a zero off the end of those prices and I think you're getting closer to the mark of what they should be.

Also, new styles should be available to everyone, not in the crown store.

What I do not understand and maybe someone can explain it is why is everybody on a 'pay to change your looks' kick? Why is this not a 'free to change' item. What is the hesitation in allowing me to change the looks of MY character? The preview in the setup does not do justice to the actual end result.
Why should I be limited to either rolling a new character or living with mistakes? How does the ability to change appearance have an effect on anyone else in the game? Most of the time when you create a character you can not get a good feel for their appearance until you have played them for a while. Do the features work with the armor or does the voice fit, etc?
This should be a free option given to users.
How do my character decisions change anything for anyone else in the game?

You're asking something to be given freely. That's not how this works, They will have to dedicate alot of resources into making a character re customization work flawlessly for us. If we give them money to do it, It will happen faster. We don't even have the option and you're wanting it for free... Come on now, be reasonable. I couldn't see it costing more than $15.00, Most of us would gladly pay without hesitation.

Changing body markings/head should be something different I think, not part of a 'barber'. Though I guess if we're talking more 'traditional' barbers, I can understand why it could be all in one place.

Also, new styles should be available to everyone, not in the crown store.

I am not paying a hundred bucks all at one shot for anything in this game. LOL 1500 crowns/$20 is about my upper limit on cash store fluff goodies. I'd CONSIDER $50 IF it unlocked all current and future hairstyles/adornments/facial hair/scars and tats account wide and with unlimited use.

I'm not wanting far fetched colors like hot pink or neon orange either. But a wider selection of more VIBRANT colors with better highlighting and textures would be very desirable for me.

While I agree that we shouldn't have crazy hair colors, in a world that has dyes like ESO has for armor, people would end up putting the dye in their hair.

Id be OK with there being a seperate "hair dying" option that gives players bad dye jobs like...

    16_demi.jpg

I'd even be ok if the "dye job" wore off over a weeks time.

Truly, there should be no real problem with changing anything from the creation screen that was not on a graded slider. My hair is one style or another, it is white or blond or black, I have a tattoo or horns or nothing. Those things ought to be available in a mirror that reflects the creation screen choices. Something different though, that could be sold in the crown store or a game merchant as a costume like a wig or false beard. I could buy a make-up kit or see the tattoo artist, maybe even visit a face sculptor to remove scars.

Whatever they decide to do, the most important feature will be the option to use GOLD or crowns to use it.

@ZOS please take a step back from your pure greed and realize that this game needs more gold sinks. Every new, shiny object can't be obtained only from the crown store. There is so much gold floating around in the economy (players have tens of millions of gold) because they have nothing to spend it on.

Lack of gold sinks is rapidly killing and over inflating this economy.

Every other successful MMO has several gold sinks. Just have your R&D dept. look around at other games if you need ideas.

I say hair dye should be allowed, as should more makeup options as long as it works with the lore. In other words no neon hair or particularly modern makeup, just stuff that fits in nicely. We are lacking on circlet and flower hair decor, and some metal pins for pinned back hairstyle could definitely be made to look pretty cool. Some more tribal and regal adornments and hairstyles would be nice as well.

I agree @Alphashado. This is why my concept includes Gold Sinks not JUST Crown Store.

I do, however, disagree with new hair styles being available for gold. ZOS needs revenue. If everything were available for gold then players wouldn't have a reason to spend $ on ESO.

Not unless they JUST sold packs of gold for real money and sold EVERYTHING for gold...hmmm... I wonder how that would have been.

I certainly agree that the Crown Store needs revenue. I am only suggesting that at least some of the items in the crown store are also available at NPC vendors. The barber shop for example could actually be an NPC shop decorated with all of the appropriate furnishings. You could pay this NPC gold in order for his/her services, or you could buy barber shop tokens from the crown store that would be redeemable at the Barber Shop vendor.

They could make at least a few of the mounts available in the Crown store also available at the stable master with gold. Etc etc.

If they just keep adding new, attractive features to the Crown Store, w/o adding any gold sinks, we are in big trouble. I was talking with a guy last night that was telling me he had over 3 million gold, over 100 of each Gold crafting temper, and NOTHING to spend it on. This is a big problem. The amount of gold circulating in the game economy right now is extremely over inflating the value of certain items like endgame BoE gear, and it's turning guild kiosks into the only legit gold sink. This is why kiosks are now costing 500k-2 million gold per week even though most trading guilds aren't even coming close to making that much with sales tax, raffles, and donations.

So Barber Shop features for Gold or (as well as) Crown store tokens. Please. :)
