https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW6uzOZayMU this is the stream on youtube. It was around minute 13 Iron Bull: Rah... that's some good armor.
Cassandra: Are you referring to me?
Iron Bull: Some high-ranking women wore ornamental crap with *its hammered into it. One good shot, and all that cleavage gets knocked right into the sternum. Real messy. Good on you for going practical.
Cassandra: I aim to please.
Iron Bull: Leave something to the imagination too.
Whenever I see that Redguard Light armor or that Orc heavy armor(the old style) I think to myself "Wow this person really doesn't care about their own well-being wearing that in combat!"

A lot more than bare skin. Also robes in fantasy games aren't just clothing, they've got magical properties. How else do you explain the increased spell resistances, reduced costs, etc. These aren't just passives to put point into in this game, past TES games(excluding Skyrim) gave bonuses while wearing light armor and you suffered penalties when wearing heavier armors.
