We're looking at ways to better support dungeon discussion with the forum structure right now.When/if new dungeon/trial/raid content ever gets released, I would fully expect there to be much more discussion regarding it on the forums, and it'd be nice to have a separate section for these then.
Furthermore, some people might draw the conclusion from the removal of "Trials/Raids" forums that this isn't a major focus for the development team anymore.
We'll see what options are available to us. This is a feature we want to make as useful as possible.nerevarine1138 wrote: »Following up on the some of the recent overhaul feedback:There's no way to limit the OP from asking follow-up questions - and doing so would presumably prevent them from posting at all in their own threads, which would prevent clarification or discussion. It's also not possible to restrict the number of accepted answers, and sometimes there can be multiple good answers in a thread.nerevarine1138 wrote: »Actually, one thing that's remained the same is the format for Question threads, and it's absolutely infuriating. If the thread only contains one question (and not a discussion of some kind), then it's fine. But when the thread contains follow-up questions, etc., and the OP keeps accepting answers, it becomes almost impossible to follow the discussion points.
Is there any way to limit those threads to one accepted answer? Because reading those things becomes a jigsaw puzzle after a while.
While we cannot change the feature, these problems are considered when we decide how to use Questions. We originally planned to have Players Helping Players be exclusively Questions, but some bugs with the features convinced us to keep normal discussions an option.
Sorry, I don't think I was clear enough with my suggestion (if it's even something that can be implemented).
I absolutely want follow-up questions to be a possibility for the OP. I'd just like them to be limited to selecting one official "Answer" instead of having a row of out-of-context answers at the top of the page that I have to match up to posts below. Or maybe have a way of tiering questions. It just becomes extremely hard to follow a thread when answers are completely separated from the questions they're responding to.
No, it only affects what forums are visible on the category page.lordrichter wrote: »Does Recent follow the category "following" setting?
I have all of the support subforums turned "off" but I still saw one there today.
Multiple backgrounds/skins are not currently an option.Other requests would be for alternate forum backgrounds (much as I like the characters from the cinematic masterpieces that have been produced "a change is as good as a rest") possibly ones that reflect faction allegiance (should people want that option) or even ones based around different guilds? I quite fancy an Ebonheart Pact one... just as long as I don't have to stare at That Damn Nord (Jorunn) all the time.
This is something that was planned. However a problem was discovered while deploying the overhaul, and its been disabled until until its fixed. While the mod visibility has been increased at least tenfold, there is one thing missing. A jump to first dev post button on the top of the thread.
My biggest gripe about these forums (and it was present in the last iteration as well) is that if I write anything in a thread in the 'Leave a Reply' and change my mind, inevitably the draft has already been autosaved and from that point on, until the end of time (aka I can't find a way to clear the auto draft... even saving a blank draft doesn't clear it), when I go to that thread I am automatically brought to the 'Leave a Reply' segment. When I click a thread, I want to be brought to the first new comment, not to my previously erased saved auto draft.
We've tweaked the structure to have a unified forum for Adventure Zone content, Trials, and Group Dungeons. While this does combine the overland content with dungeons and trials, it gives the group dungeons a specific home.I would agree with this. "Dungeons and Trials" and "Adventure Zones" require different playstyles and strategies, and appeal to different people. I can see why they would put them together (Trials are located within Adventure Zones), but I think having them separate would be better.
Forum tags are something we're very interested in. Unfortunately at the moment we cannot have separate pools of terms for the three languages, which limits the usefulness of the feature.
Indeed. I assume this is how it would work if implemented; what I actually don't understand is why it would cause a delay in updates appearing in the list, unless the JS results are cached for a while (in which case, there could be an "Update" button to purge the list?).derpsticks wrote: »I feel like the same concept could be applied to the dev tracker. Why can't a simple javascript method be written that filters dev posts by subforum title? So as you iterate over a list of all the dev posts, they would each be checked and filtered into one of three lists, then the list that matches the users language is selected for display.

Click on the cog icon at the top of the screen. Click "My Drafts". Delete at your leisure.

I still seem to be automatically taken to the very bottom of the page even after deleting the drafts.

I think that's a bug with how the page directs you to #latest. Your browser puts you in the right place, then the page content shifts slightly due to some extra thing appearing/disappearing on the page.

I understand mine represents some beta group I was part of, but it violates my privacy as it reveals my email handle to public. Not full address, but even the handle is bad.
I had a forum username before that was generic and different than my email from beta group - why was that replaced and see no option under user profile to change back to preferred username?

That wasn't a change with the new forum layout, nor is it a violation of your privacy. You can probably e-mail CS about changing it, though.
I disagree.Mod text beyond the name should not be green. The color and contrast are pretty terrible choices between the foreground and background. Starting to see a trend with UI.
I like mod text all in green. It make it more easily and quickly recognize/identify, especially when there is a long post. I don't have to try to look for the name. I just only need see the green text and I can quickly identify a need to pay attention.
The back button is likely directing you "back" to #latest, which goes to the first page you haven't read, rather than the last page you were on.On multi page threads, when I use the back button to go back one page, I end up at the bottom of the last page. Even when I haven't read that page yet. E.g. a 4 page thread, I read page 1 and 2, switch to page 3 but back-button to go back to page 2, I end up bottom page 4.
@Alphashado you can still edit OPs, but the edit link is right up in the thread title, not in the first post.Alphashado wrote: »Please restore the option to edit original posts. This is an example: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/148508/1-6-provisioning-mats-gotta-be-a-thief-it-seems/p1
I had made an EDIT to that OP back when we were allowed to edit them, and I stated that all provisioning mats could be found on Grocers/Chefs/Brewers. Well that was only a fact for a short time due to it being changed on the PTS with the following patch. I would like to edit this post in order to avoid confusion, but it seems the option has been removed. It's not a big deal, but it's just an example of why we should be able to Edit Original Posts.

Once a thread is open, I have to scroll to the bottom before I can see the most recent post. Is there a way to "jump" to the bottom with a single mouse click?
Clicking on the thread title should automatically take you to the first unread post.
