What exactly are you talking about?

Firstly, I don't really understand what is so big deal about NBs and their cloak. It's excellent defense mechanism, and if it breaks because of your own DoTs, then don't use DoTs. Simple as that, or did I miss something?...
I pointed out that ZOS has stated that the issue of DoTs breaking Nightblade's Cloak is indeed acknowledged as unintended, and is due to be fixed; I made nothing up and a reference is available here:ZOS_JessicaFolsom wrote: »Incoming Fixes & Improvements

Outstanding Known Issues
Patch 1.1.2 fixed many outstanding Nightblade issues, but below are some that we are either actively investigating, working on fixes for now, or have recently fixed and will push in a future patch. Please note this list does not reflect every reported Nightblade issue we are currently investigating.
General: Currently, a Nightblade’s own residual outgoing damage-over-time ticks break his or her invisibility. This is not intended, and will be fixed in a future patch.

So I'm not sure what on earth you are talking about.
But, to be honest, I'm not sure you have any idea what you are talking about either.
I totally read that out of context and I wholeheartedly apologize for taking your words in a different meaning and then being snarky about it.
I am truly sorry.
Been having so many discussions about animation cancelling tonight, I think I just got my threads mixed up when I saw your quote.
Again, my apologies.

Ah, no worries. Thread mix ups happen.
I was totally confused about what I was being called out for, but that would explain it.
Thank you for taking the time to clarify.

Unfortunately that was a full 2 content releases ago and soon to be a third content release and it still isn't fixed. That's similar to someone saying, I'll pay you the rent soon, and three months later it hasn't been paid yet.
I mean, really, how long are they going to put that carrot out there? Based on their track record, I'm not sure their current team is able to do the fixes that are on their plate.
That video looks fun, but getting into position using a 2H heavy attack for stealth is more of a hassle than what it looks like in a video edited for fluidity.
I have abandoned the melee ambush/surprise attack NB build because veiled strike/concealed weapon has been very unreliable for me in the past. It either would not go off, required me to be standing on the target or would trigger but not actually do any damage.
...and finally got around to doing that.VagabondAngel wrote: »I might give the dps meter another whirl later and see what I can get now.

I'm beginning to think all we need is better damage mitigation vs magicka based attacks. In terms of dps....NB's are fine. They still need change stamina abilities so that there's more equality between stamina & magicka builds.

If I get close enough to open with Concealed Weapon, its a one-hit 2.6k
I'm using full medium armour and dw - 5x Hunding's Rage and 4x Ashen Grip.

Sorc in general is going to be better with direct weapon damage than NB. However, NB has bonuses to stealth and crit damage to compensate, and has more stealth abilities. So in the balance, I don't see how sorc is clearly better than NB for assassination. As soon as someone mentioned Sorcerers being better Assassins than Nightblades, I knew it was going to have something to do with Surge.

But in open combat, sorcs with stamina weapons will likely do more damage than NBs with stamina weapons. Sorc's advantage in weapon damage also applies to destro staff and healing with resto staffs. That's why top NB casters never use destro staff for single target dps, since they can't compete with sorcs on single target destro (fortunately, NB casters can rely resto staff and class skills (strife)).
Also, thanks to those who pointed out my error in identifying the attacks that the 2h sorc was using.
NBs are more restricted than any class right now because of broken abilities that have been cited and not fixed for months.Apart from hilarious minor buffs to a couple of useless skills you have done NOTHING in 3 months now.
Patience has a limit.
Dude you guys hitting for over 2k in pvp.. You have an escape if you do not drop someone in 3 secs which over 50% of the time you do... please check you your stats and build.... NBs are fine atm
Sure we have 3 skills that work well together. Ambush > Surprise > Blade/Impale. Work well if you find someone alone, you can move behind, with no shields up, and not holding block. Then if you get 3 crits you might just kill the guy.
Now stir in 100 people inside a keep see how effective your 2 minute prep to kill one person is. Sure if this game had duels or arenas, NBs would be awesome (if the target doesn't back into a corner and hold block) but it doesn't.
All you see is the end result of painstaking prep, caution, and desecration. Again all of that for one kill. Meanwhile Mr. Pro DK is running around touching everything while L33T Sorc is streaking through crowds taking no damage and Bat Swarming, and Templars are exploiting Blazing Shield.

More NB buffs? Seriously the game is broken already with all the QQ need buffs.
Most NBs who know how to play, two shot any player in Cyrodiil.
How ridiculous you want the game to be? They should tone down DK, SC & NB damage, not buff it more, for heaven sake.
If 2000 damage hits from stealth are not enough for you, or you cannot achieve them, then maybe this is the wrong game for you or you play wrong?????
Yes, this is absolutely true for stamina based Nightblades. The problem is that Nightblades do not have much, if anything, going for them mid-combat or for survivability. The opener must be successful for many Nightblade builds.

Lethal Arrow -> Mark Target - Impale would be my guess. I can't 2 shot people but I can kill them in about 4-5 all in the first 2-3s if I'm out of stealth.

Abandon Concealed:
- 0 NB skills/passives were used.
- Other Classes can get higher opener dmg than NB.

NB should have the best opener in the game, yet any class can attain this...
