I've said it before, there shouldn't be *any* 0g items in the game.

Make them all 1g so they're not completely useless for the 99.9% of us who aren't in the wailing prison anymore.

Like people still wouldn't whine about it then?

This is working as intended. Turn off auto-loot if it's that much of an annoyance.

    That is a moot point.
Just because it's working as intended doesn't mean it's not annoying or can't be improved on.

If people had stopped improving things, we'd still be pounding rocks in caves.

Ah . . . but those "white" 0g items are actually a leveled list item that aren't always worthless!

lol. they put it in both to make relog farming more difficult, and well to make it more realistic environment.

relog farming is apparently what you have to do if you dont want to pay 700k for a purple food recipie so lets not make it sound like crap. ive never done it in any game ive ever played buy im not paying the prices those d-bags want. so i do it here, but apparently theres a negative connotation to relog farming because i wont pay horseshit prices?

They haven't gimped anything. Motifs and Recipes still have the same drop rate. Provisioning items still holds the same drop rate. The new items only seem to have interfered with the Lockpick drop rate (which is a good thing).

And you got this information from where?

From the tons of threads that blossomed when the change first took place and a Staff Dev/Mod member (can't remember which off the top of my head) finally confirmed it. It's been a few weeks now and I'm in no mood to go dig it back up.

Needless to say, this topic has had numerous threads started.

Sorry, that dont make sense! So when I loot a node and a piece of gear is in it then it would be wrong of me to wonder what would have dropped had that gear not taken its place? Hmmm......I still think it effects the drop rate of something useful.

    And you're still wrong.

White gear doesn't "take the place" of anything. The calculations for loot drops are done independently.

OK....if the white drops and not a food item then aint that taking the place of something of value? No white gear= something of value dropping and when a piece of white gear drops it most certainly dose take the place of something valuable! Wow, you cant see that? Sorry but thats just plain common sense man! Face_Palm.gif

No, it doesn't. If no white items drop, you may not get any drops at all. Or you may get gold, depending on the container. The drop rate isn't affected. Again, think about it as a math problem instead of thinking that the container of doing you a personal injury.

This of course is all assuming that Zenimax coded it properly.

    No.

Lockpicks at least have the decency to stack, the new junk makes you open inventory to delete 14-40 items every trip.

Well I can live without the purple recipe, its not like it destroys my game, like others that feel they have right to have it all, and have it all fast/easy without work.....

so if you dont wanna pay for the recipe, you will just have to keep relog farming some more, good luck with that

    But, but, the immersion!

    What about the immersion?

I mean, finding a Bow, or a 2H Sword, or a Chest Armor piece in a Backpack is SOOOOO realistic!

Hey! *I* am NOT the one making a big deal about immersion. That would be the ZOS. Immersion is why (at least that was the stated why) the junk was introduced in the first place.

I think it was to further nerf container drops. Because, God knows, cannot have the players getting to many nice things. It will ruin the 'immersion'.

Fantasy in the game is excepted as reality with in the game but putting a damn cow on top of a tree is not cool just cuz its a fantasy game. You have to agree that would make the game feel wrong and I'm sure you would not like it!

I would take a picture, laugh at it and then move along, wont ruin my day at all

Only thing I dont like in mmo, but dont really gets on my nerves anyway.

is the simple fact, that people think they should have it all, they insult others for there playing style

    General Negative people.

I thank the game makers for ignore button

But, I still find containers that are empty all the time so then it brings me back to thinking that if the white gear was not there that a provisioning item would drop in its place. Still think that the white gear has an effect on the valuable items. Remove the white gear from the drop table then the container is gunna be empty or have a provisioning item. Right now it can be white gear, provisioning item, and empty.

Right now the "common" (white) stuff in most general containers seems to include:
    - White gear
    - Lockpick
    - Crafting Style item
    - Provisioning Material
    - A food or drink item

I'm finding maybe 1 in 10 common items are coming up white gear, which I generally leave in the container. I'm leaving behind a LOT more of the Crafting style items since I only craft in maybe 2 or 3 styles, and once you have a stack of 100, what's the use of the others? I leave behind a LOT more provisioning materials - I don't really craft much drink, and how much Corn Mash can one *really* use, anyway?

As others have noted, it doesn't seem to have affected the rate of more uncommon drops at all. Yellows and Blues still seem to be showing up at the same rate. Actually, I think they're dropping more now than they were a few months ago, but that's just my experience.

I do notice that the probability of white gear skews based on area as well - I was going through a Fighter's Guild quest with one of my chars which took me through a large dwarven area, and found a LOT of tertiary provisioning mats in Urns, but only about 2 white gear items in the entire place.

Yes, the white gear is annoying, but it's not really worth complaining about, IMHO.

Yeah container type matters. Gear only shows up in some of them. I get a lot of alchemy water in dwarven ruins.

I've gotten better than white on a few occasions. (3 blues so far and I don't farm containers for anything)

My level 17 got a blue 2 hander off a weapon rack in the Serk in Deeshan while looking for a few more prov items last night.

Found quite a few greens since they put it in.

My lockpicks kinda hold steady now around 100, I used to dump 100 or so every other day. So I do gel less lockpicks.
