Yet every person that has reported on it has said that the white items have taken the place of the majority of drops, reducing their other drops. Go figure. Clearly all the complainers are imagining things and you really know the score. Any other stunning observations you'd like to share with the class?
^This. Like I needed another lockpick anyways.DenverRalphy wrote: »They haven't gimped anything. Motifs and Recipes still have the same drop rate. Provisioning items still holds the same drop rate. The new items only seem to have interfered with the Lockpick drop rate (which is a good thing).
LoL, thought the exact same thing. Is everybody in Tamriel a thief now? Freak'n lockpicks everywhere.Woogawoman wrote: »Indeed. I recall thinking at one point "Geez, every single drawer in Tamriel has a lockpick in it. Why would anyone bother ever locking anything, if everyone has picks?"
I'd rather have fewer lockpicks and more "crap" gear that can still be deconstructed, even if for very small amounts of crafting experience.

And you got this information from where?

From the tons of threads that blossomed when the change first took place and a Staff Dev/Mod member (can't remember which off the top of my head) finally confirmed it. It's been a few weeks now and I'm in no mood to go dig it back up.
Needless to say, this topic has had numerous threads started.

Sorry, that dont make sense! So when I loot a node and a piece of gear is in it then it would be wrong of me to wonder what would have dropped had that gear not taken its place? Hmmm......I still think it effects the drop rate of something useful.

Drop rates haven't changed. The plural of anecdote is not data.

How can you say that when the crappy white gear actually takes the place of something possibly good. So, really the white gear makes the drop rate less.

And you're still wrong.
White gear doesn't "take the place" of anything. The calculations for loot drops are done independently.

OK....if the white drops and not a food item then aint that taking the place of something of value? No white gear= something of value dropping and when a piece of white gear drops it most certainly dose take the place of something valuable! Wow, you cant see that? Sorry but thats just plain common sense man!
0 value gear is still in provisioning and some other nodes. I was hoping and figured that this should have been fixed in this last update. Now I'm beginning to wonder if they gunna fix it at all.
If you can think of a better place for me to keep my pants, I'd like to hear it!Because nothing represents realism better than finding a pair of pants in a sack of beans.
The 0 value white gear is good for people who are brand spanking new out of the wailing prison, and for people who don't want to pay repair costs or craft their own gear while leveling, and would prefer to sell/decon every piece of gear they get that is worth money. I don't fall into either of those categories, but I can see the usefulness in the gear for those people.Well, maybe I'm the one that cant see the common sense to all this. I think we can all agree though that the 0 value white gear is annoying.
