I've tried all my agro reduction skills/spells, deflections, distractions, and diversions, but it seems like 11 years of overuse on my part may have inadvertently built up my girlfriend's racial immunity passives. Now I'm continually hounded to be more sociable, to engage with family and friends (offline!), and to "leave the house and get some sun, for christ's sake." I've used up everything in my arsenal, including pulling out the trump card -- a study demonstrating that female nagging kills men (Study: Nagging By A Spouse Could Shorten Your Life) -- although I'm not sure if that was an intelligent move on my part; her complaints have only intensified.

Obviously if I'm forced to choose between on the one hand, ESO, and on the other, my gorgeous, young (she's 30, I'm 43) girlfriend of 11 years and my 6-year-old daughter (her birthday's today, btw), ESO wins hands down; but is there anything left at my disposal to make sure it doesn't come to that? I really do love them, sort of. When they're not nagging me.

    Tips welcome!

guyz look how hot my girlfriend is. Too bad I can't just wire her mouth shut because she's only there for one thing rite? *nudge nudge wink wink*

Considering men live 9 years longer and women 9 years less when married, you are actually the one sucking her life away.

    Dames, though, amirite?

WRONG! We're not even married, Mr. Insufficient Reading Comprehension. Take THAT!

@IKilled007‌, how long were you in the recovery room on that one? Sure you'll be walking again in no time. ;)

ignoring the whole "take my wife, please!" attitude of the OP and a few others that just screams boy's club, you really should try to find something in common with your girlfriend.

I've never understood dating/marrying someone who wasn't interested in the same things. Or how you could evolve in a different direction when you are already in a relationship.

My boyfriend doesn't play this game, but he is right next to me playing Rift while I play, (and if we had the money for a second sub I think I could convince him to play or at least try it out.)

always, ALWAYS choose ESO over your gf or your daughter! because no one will love you like ESO does! NEVER!

You play your game like a man! while your gf goes out and meets other dude and totally get her freak on. And I can already see a future stripper name "Diamond" who never got daddy's attention growing up and seeks comfort in any men's attention by working the pole.

But don't worry, ESO will never abandon you nor betray you. so game on, brother! GAME ON!

I have to admit there was some rocky points early in the marriage like the time my nephew came over on a Friday afternoon and we broke out the new and ground breaking game Myst and didn't stop playing tell Sunday afternoon, I don't think she talked to me for weeks and my nephew was on the "not allowed to visit list" for months :)

Not sure why women hate gaming but do not mind you playing golf? My wife always tells me to get a better hobby like golf... omg this hobby is cheap compared to others..

Honestly not sure if this is a troll post or not as I am a socially impaired duck, but as someone's girlfriend myself, I can see where she is coming from! But in the end, as long as playing games isn't hurting those around you or stopping you from engaging with them and enjoying life with them (as they are most important, after all), there shouldn't be a problem. The secret is in the balance.

I use threads like this to get my own way with my boyfriend.

"Oh you think I'm bad? Look at this poor guy, his other half doesn't approve of excessive game playing. How about that? You're so lucky you have an amazing girlfriend who is just as much as a game obsessive as you! You should buy me more gaming merchandise because of this, I hear there's a new Claptrap Pop Vinyl out. Also go make me a tea and tickle my back while I save Tamriel"

Usually when a thread is this old, it's better to just create a new thread and link back to the old one. Otherwise it tends to get filled with "LOL Necro" posts.

Maybe not with buying me stuff, though I do get most of my suggestions saved up and I get them at Christmas/Birthdays.
