and about 20% of my guild are still playing. I expected a lot of people to quit the guild, since I'm not logging on to lead it but nope, no one quit the guild - it looks like they simply don't log on either.
Got booted from one guild, another one is very active, and the other ones I'm in have about 50% inactive players (haven't logged in in more than 2 weeks).
Anyone else?
Is it? godammit, haven't found a replacement yet, that's too soon.Malpherian wrote: »

It seems to me if you look at reddit and the "internet " people are actually returning lol.
Usually when a guild stagnates and dies it is because the GM isn't actively working on their guild removing players that haven't played in a long time and recruiting active players to replace them.
For me, one guild died (the Guild Master left), 3 stayed pretty much the same and 1 guild is growing.

So true Tabby.
I'm pretty attached to this one trade guild. The guildmaster went on extended leave due to a business trip in Japan. During that time, activity took a nosedive. We lost members and many that we had left were inactive. Sales suffered. Chat suffered. There were barely 14 members out of 500 online when I'd login.
He returned two weeks ago just long enough to promote a few more officers to maintain the guild in his absence. After much purging and recruitment, the guild is now on the rise. Chat is active. Sales are frequent. Two weeks of dedicated leadership is all it took to rejuvenate the guild.

@Malpherian, SG does lots of things. They do casual and mobile games, business development, outsourcing, etc. First of all, this doesn't say "f2p" to me at all, especially in the context of ESO, which is not either casual or mobile in the industry-wide sense. Zenimax partners with lots of other companies; how is this something new?
Second, what's your proof that ZOS is working with them, and on what are you basing these claims?
Repeating rumors is not proof. Show proof or go away.

SWTOR has a very healthy and successful F2P system, so this is a good thing.Hlaren_shortsheath wrote: »Malpherian wrote: »Hlaren_shortsheath wrote: »who is "sleeping giant" ??

The company working with ESO is actually called "Sleepy Giant"
http://www.sleepygiant.com/#about
They specialize in GaaS or "Games as a service" (Sometimes called "Cloud Gaming") which is described somewhat in this post:
http://www.develop-online.net/interview/games-as-a-service-what-does-it-mean-for-indies/0189880
Well I re-read the description of that company a few times, still a little unclear but I think I get the bulk of it. Doesn't sound like a free to play dev.
They are not a FTP developer or marketing company.
Ah good I needed to hear that. Thanks for the good info.

Not exactly. Take the trouble to look at their website (http://sleepinggiantsolutions.com/) and you'll see they are a business development company with their fingers in a lot of pots, whatever their clients need for them to do. They also develop "casual and mobile" games and work on marketing strategies especially for Japan. But I agree that this doesn't look like a F2P move (assuming that a relationship between SG and ZOS exists to begin with) so much as a business development, infrastructure support B2B relationship. You know, the kind of thing companies do all the time...

How misleading this statement is. ZOS and Sleepy(not sleeping) giant have been working together since before the game released. That's easy enough to see if you actually go to their website and see that their projects section still says "Sleepy Giant is providing custom web development and account management services to Zenimax Online Studios for their upcoming game Elder Scrolls® Online"Malpherian wrote: »Seems to be the common theme on the forums, all sorts of guild masters are reporting empty guilds, even my crafting guild (not mine but the one Im in) which had 500+ active people 2 weeks ago, now only has about 20 active people.
The consensus I'm gathering is that the sub ratio next month will be far less then it was this month int he report.
But in all honesty if ZOS would just remove classes, then 1.5 Million TES fans would come die hard running back. (As that's the reason they didn't buy the game or sub at release after beta).
But I don't think ZOS is wise enough to see that, especially after they ignored our please in the beta to ditch the things. We even told them they were going to lose a huge majority of TES fans because of it's restrictions.
Sleeping Giant is now working with ZOS apparently also, and their specialty is F2P marketing. So I guess ZOS is going F2P in the next 6 months to a year.
As others have pointed out in this thread, Sleepy Giant is one of our partners, and they've helped with ESO account management since since beta. We hope this clears up some of the concerns people had.
