You know what kills me? The sheer stupidity and bull-headedness of so many AH fanboys. ZoS has stated, numerous times, their reasoning behind not having an AH. And the best counter arguments the fanboys have ever come up with is either "But it's hard to find my Mighty Stick of Beatdown in 10 minutes without one" or, failing that, when ZoS explains the problems with having a global AH in a world-wide megaserver, they simply respond "Nuh-uh!"
You lack logic and reading comprehension.Yeah it's totally cool when theme park games which have no item decay give you unlimited access to stacks of hundreds of the same item which you'll never need to buy again, all which can be obtained in a matter of seconds. This definitely makes the item seem valuable and unique.
It's not immersion breaking at all when every crafter on the game is putting up stacks of the exact same item, undercutting each other by 1g on a 50k item.
We should totally go into every game that attempts to do something different and attempt to get it changed to be like every other theme park on the market. Because that's what were used to, and there can't possibly be any other way to do things.
It really should be all about my convenience as a player. There shouldn't be dynamics that would result in me putting effort or time into the economy, because that's boring. It's much more exciting when I snap my fingers and whatever I want just shows up in front of me.
I actually don't want to participate in an economy and strengthen it for the good of the game and other players. I want the economy to serve me because I am the center of the gaming universe, at all times.
Plus WoW had it...
You have valid points but your condescending tone defeats your post.
Fine by me. Anyone who thinks this topic warrants a serious response at this point is wasting their time.
Any valid points about the topic have already been made, and gone completely lost on the intended audience.
Yet you continue to post....

Today I searched for 5h for a "Bastion of the Dragon" in VR12. I offered up to 30k at some time, still, I didn't find anybody, probably not because such a person doesn't exist wanting to sell one, but simply because he's busy with other things / in a different zone / whatever.
Instead of having fears, about that the Mega-server-structure would crash the economy, think what you're doing to us players. We want to play your game and have fun, but you're preventing us from doing so, because seriously, who goes and plays when 1 piece of critical equipment is missing?
Hoping that you fix this soon.

Redundance works against things getting lost, so it's absolutely normal, that people repeat over and over the same things. In this specific case, the AH must not be forgotten, that's why threads demanding it will pop up continously until ESO devs will surrender to reason.
I btw. got the shield I searched for after 6.5h of searching.
That number is just so hillarious, that I hope it'll make some Devs, but also some of the people saying that "this is working as intended", listen, though those comments were ironical, ESO Devs programing time-sinks of that dimension though, will only become ironical once ESO devs need to invest time / money on winning back players that they lost through their own stolidity.

Not sure if someone in this thread mentioned this already, but with Update 3 (as I recall) there will be guild store kiosks throughout major cities and at keeps that are owned by a guild will have their guild store available as well.
So you won't have a global AH, but you will have the ability to effectively "go shopping" for what you're seeking.
rob.shzaub17_ESO wrote: »If AH is not doable, can they just change the guild store to search to search all guilds you're in so I don't need to search, wait for results, page through x amount of pages, not find the item, trying search again with different guild, wait for results, page through x amount of pages, not find the item, trying seach again with different guild...

Umm... most of the people who are not fussy ? For 1 missing thing, there are 50 others. Don't tell me you can't enjoy the game just because you can't sell 1 piece of equipment within 30 minutes of looting it...
I don't understand why people are so against this. It doesn't make and item more rare it just makes it and annoyance to find what you are looking for by having to hop through trade guilds and spam in zone chat to find something and completely takes a massive dump on any chance of having a stable economy. But that's just my 2 cents on the issue.
Because, unlike the post which mentioned selling to a potential 5000 members in a normal auction house, because other MMOs have separate servers, an AH on ESO would have a potential 200,000 members (conservatively! Many estimations of the members on the US server are much higher, but ZoS isn't telling). Even if only 1% of the members were selling rare items, that means there could be hundreds, thousands of rare items in the AH. Rarity just went down the tubes - anyone with money can find the Mighty *** of Thor with no effort. In addition, I don't code, but I imagine the search queries on a megaserver-wide AH would be incredibly taxing to the game itself.
