Yes, but the oldies are the goodies !
And yes we should have a global AH in this game. It seems Zenimax were too short sighted to realise that though !
No they aren't. they are trying to make an MMO that isn't like every other MMO out there. Join a trade guild or a few of them and look around.
Yeah because for somebody like myself (that would spend hours crafting, trading) I want to be limited to 500 people... when I should have access to 5000 !
I want to play the market, I want to bid / outbid other players. I'd want all that to be done on a truly dynamic economy that fluctuates as player demand changes. In an economy that isn't lead by a few idiots that think they can rig the market price of items by monopolising due to extortionate pricing !
But hey... you keep your segregated mini guild ah system !
The only reason I don't like the current guild AH is because well, currently ESO still feels to much like a single player.
The fun stuff about AH'ses? is they bring people together, make towns alive. ESO could use some of that. It would be easy to remove the epics or what ya call them inhere, so rare stays rare.
You know what kills me? The sheer stupidity and bull-headedness of so many AH fanboys. ZoS has stated, numerous times, their reasoning behind not having an AH. And the best counter arguments the fanboys have ever come up with is either "But it's hard to find my Mighty Stick of Beatdown in 10 minutes without one" or, failing that, when ZoS explains the problems with having a global AH in a world-wide megaserver, they simply respond "Nuh-uh!"
It boils down to they don't want to spend time on finding the stuff. They want to be cool without effort. Never mind that they miss the triumph of finding the item or the person who has the item; they just want instant gratification.
These are the same folks who have all the Skyrim console commands memorized.

My statement concerned your seeming assumptions that the majority wanted or needed an AH. Yes, it would be the rational thing to do for Zenimax to cater to the players every whim in order to keep their players' money. Unless, of course, those whims weren't the majority. And unless, of course, those whims often contradicted each other and would cause the game to be nearly unplayable if those whims were always followed.philip.ploegerb16_ESO wrote: »How certain you sound about uncertainties.philip.ploegerb16_ESO wrote: »Fine by me. Any valid points about the topic have already been made, and gone completely lost on the intended audience.
Redundance works against things getting lost, so it's absolutely normal, that people repeat over and over the same things. In this specific case, the AH must not be forgotten, that's why threads demanding it will pop up continously until ESO devs will surrender to reason.
I btw. got the shield I searched for after 6.5h of searching.
That number is just so hillarious, that I hope it'll make some Devs, but also some of the people saying that "this is working as intended", listen, though those comments were ironical, ESO Devs programing time-sinks of that dimension though, will only become ironical once ESO devs need to invest time / money on winning back players that they lost through their own stolidity.
I trust in the fact that Zenimax wants to earn money, and therefor they'll do what they can to make players play, instead of cancelling their subs.
And there's always that one statement of Kant, that humans have a need to turn towards rationality.
I know, some people's behaviour in the internet would make one suspect differently, but I'm absolutely confident that humans cannot refuse to be rational for an indefinite amount of time.

Once again, the farse comparisons. WoW is a game where the best gear comes from PvE content, not player crafted like ESO.
Auction House serves a different purpose in WoW, and works based on it's type of MMO and economy.
You're talking about a Rhino and an Elephant here.
Before posting these, begging for one, read what zenimax has already said.
-Tabards and insignias will be in a future update to allow you to represent your guild.
-Guild stores will be our ingame market, no plans for a global auction house
-Plans for more guild ranks
-10% “house cut” when using guild stores to sell is a gold sink we designed.
-Working on fixing guild bank to make items stack properly and more easily searchable
-Ability to blacklist player accounts from a guild is something we are discussing
-Maximum guild size is 500, you can be a member of up to 5 guilds.

They've noted that guild stores aren't the best right now. They're making changes to the system for a reason.Blackwidow wrote: »Before posting these, begging for one, read what zenimax has already said.

To be fair, at one point they had no plans for true first person view.
At one point they had no plans for dueling.
ZOS takes a while, but they slowly learn players want good systems in their MMOs.
Now, I'm not saying an AH is exactly the way to go, but i will say the GAHs (guild auction houses) are not working, IMHO.

Today I searched for 5h for a "Bastion of the Dragon" in VR12. I offered up to 30k at some time, still, I didn't find anybody, probably not because such a person doesn't exist wanting to sell one, but simply because he's busy with other things / in a different zone / whatever.
Instead of having fears, about that the Mega-server-structure would crash the economy, think what you're doing to us players. We want to play your game and have fun, but you're preventing us from doing so, because seriously, who goes and plays when 1 piece of critical equipment is missing?
Hoping that you fix this soon.

No AH also means that gold buyers (you know...the reason we had to live with bots when the game went live) can't necessarily get the advantage they are trying to get...
Personally, I like things to be rare, and I like to craft, which makes you fairly self-sufficient in this game.
When Blizzard initially designed and implemented the auction houses for Diablo III, the driving goal was to provide a convenient and secure system for trades. But as the team mentioned on different occasions, it became increasingly clear that despite the benefits of the AH system and the fact that many players around the world use it, it ultimately undermines Diablo's core game play: kill monsters to get cool loot. With that in mind, Blizzard wants to let everyone know that they've decided to remove the gold and real-money auction house system from Diablo III.
