Sort of in theory, not sure how it is set in TESO and it can cause lag alike problems in general as well... eg. client is borked... but server is fine.. and it keeps an odd relationship untill a fix.. also the client can be excelent and workign really well, but the server having an issue talking with the client.. on the server itself.
But for crashes... in general should not have anything to do with it.. could be a broken GFX update... a harddrive that is running at its last tier causing corruption.. system overheating and force shutting down...

Yes I can, and that's why I've pointed out repeatedly that Zenimax can see that too and have got a fix planned for Monday. The fact that they haven't passed the information on to their ticket support staff is regrettable (although by no means unusual in my experience of MMOs) but it doesn't alter the fact that the status update exists.
As far as the argument that people shouldn't have to follow the developer tracker to play the game is concerned, that's right, and no-one is suggesting that they should. However, if you have a technical problem that leads you to post on the support forum wouldn't it make sense to check out the developers' posts for any information on that problem? It's what the developer tracker is for, to make it simple to pick up such information as a status update on a particular problem. It's also why with this patch (and hopefully all future ones) there's an official thread on known issues and what's being done about them - that is common practice in most games these days.
If you are having a lot of problems with the game then I seriously suggest you keep an eye on the developer tracker for any official updates on them, but it's entirely up to you. I've done all I can in pointing out the official status update to you, and much good has it done me!

Here's the thing:
1) I only play ESO for the PvP.
2) PvP has been nigh unplayable since the patch on the 25th or 26th.
3) Monday is the 30th... that's 4-5 days of broken.
Are we getting another batch of free game time in compensation for this custerfluck?
..because, there are less and less reasons to stick around and tolerate this mickey mouse show.
Fair enough Tandor. Sorry for losing the rag. As you can probably tell, a lot of us are at the end of our tether with Zenimax so anyone who appears to be defending them is likely to be given short shriftThat's perfectly understandable, and entirely reasonable. All I've tried to do is let you guys know that a fix is apparently coming on Monday for the FPS problem, that's all.

In the server client side of things its the server that takes the kicking, if you do not have the right infrastructure and the right server set up this is what happens.
I do not and will not accept that the majority of issues are due to peoples PC's, if there are issues client side then its down to the software supplied by the Vendor.
I was fine in Beta, but since its getting worse and worse. Funny how I can run two EvE Clients simultaneously with no issues, MWO plays fine, WoT again no problems same with SWTOR or PS2, in fact you know what I don't remember the last time EvE crashed out on me.
I am sick and tired of dying to mobs I cant see, and when I can see what's attacking me either my abilities down work or these such a delay its too late. I don't get crashes, well I do but only occasionally when I quit the game.
There have been hundreds of topics and thousands of posts regarding issues people are having performance wise and when people respond back with the old its your PC line , it does nothing but muddy the water.
In short we have two issues that are complicating this wonderful he said she said situation.
1) ZOS would have investigated and be/been aware that there were performance issues with the single shard mechanic. However afaik nothing has been shared and ZOS generally play the dumb card when issues are raised.
2) The lack of any updates or confirmations, and I don't mean some woolly affirmation that some people may have some issues, I mean how vague can you be, means that everyone, I am referring to the player base, ends up chasing their tails.
I wonder just how many players have wasted time running around trying to fix issues that are the result of something that ZOS were already aware of within their own infrastructure.
Re server vs client, two of the other problems currently plaguing Cyrodiil are:SBR_QuorTek wrote: »But the crashes only seem to be at a select few, I pretty much never crash in TESO... and when it does it is usually my own fault...
But yes fix the server and the client would be a good start.... and in my opinion those select few even if it is like 400ish people or whatever, give them some free days as compensation or something.
Its server side.incandescent wrote: »In the case of rollbacks, surely all our completed quests, experience gains, new items etc are stored on the server, not the client?

On that basis calling it Elder Scrolls Online would be wrong. pvp is the whole point of this type of game.incandescent wrote: »
Still the game is playable just one aspect isn't. So the title is still wrong. The title makes it's seem the whole game isn't playable

And after a certain point you exhaust the pve aspects anyway.
If you're not playing against other players then you might as well be playing offline, like Skyrim etc. I think you're missing the entire point of this game (and the reason we're paying subscriptions instead of a one-off fee).incandescent wrote: »On that basis calling it Elder Scrolls Online would be wrong. pvp is the whole point of this type of game.incandescent wrote: »

Haha what? How is pvp the only point of this game? If you think that then I'm sorry buddy
SBR_QuorTek wrote: »Well the final thing as many of you guys seem up to date hardware/software wise, but thought about trying to disable one addon at a time, as it could conflict with the game causing the crashes.. the addons is a 3rd party installation that is not always updated to the to be compatible with the current version of the game.
Some thoughts in it as it is.... think of it... Addon X ask for resource/whichever thing to be displayed.. game goes like no way.... *puuuuf* crash
It is an option or possible option to try and turn one off at a time to see which one if any that may cause a possible problem.

And yet Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim achieved all that without needing to be online and without charging players on a monthly basis. One could as easily argue that if you only want to play against other players then you mght as well be playing first person shooters, and that you're missing the entire point of the Elder Scrolls IP and lore. People are playing this game for all sorts of reasons, all of them equally valid.

So, it's Monday and it's 6pm, and there doesn't appear to be any sign of a patch yet.Yes I can, and that's why I've pointed out repeatedly that Zenimax can see that too and have got a fix planned for Monday.
