ok. Lets see a DK with stamina build have 53% weapon crit. I'm stuck on 8% right now with heavy armor and 1h+ shield. Any advice to raise my weapon crit?
Thats the problem, you have to wear medium armor in order to have a chance at using the weapon abilities well
And all spell casters are forced to go light and use inner light unless they are nb and can squeeze many assassination skills and even then. What is your point?

my point is that heavy armor users are at a disadvantage when it comes to dealing damage

Most people didn't play a NB in any of the other TES game I think.xsorusb14_ESO wrote: »Every time I see a Nightblade talk about how class is a NightBLADE i'm reminded of the morons in GW2 who while bitching about Rangers (which deserved to be bitched about in that game for being kind of weak) would always talk about they weren't great with Bows compared to other classes and every single time it was always "We're RANGErs, we should be best at Range!"
Guess what..It was stupid then, and its stupid now..Quit with that NightBLADE crap
Some descriptions of the class from previous games.
TES1Arena Mage group
"Nightblades are those mages who have perfected their arts to help in
activities involving infiltration, spying, and stealth. They are much like
thieves, creatures of the night, able to use their considerable powers to
help them in their nocturnal activities. In combat, Nightblades receive a
chance per level of scoring a critical hit (3x damage). Nightblades can
pick locks about as well as Rogues. They also receive 1.5x their INT in
starting spell points"
TES2 DaggerFall Mage Group
'Possibly the most feared of the classes is the Nightblade. They possess many of the skills and philosophy of the thiefly classes, combined with the powers of the mage.Their natural agility and stealth.and their mastery of the school of illusion, means nightblades are seldom seen.Though their hand can certainly be felt.Effective nightblades have high agility, high inteligence and willpower.
TES3 Morrowind Magic Specialization -Light armor
"Nightblades are spellcasters who use their magics to enhance mobility, concealment, and stealthy close combat. They have a sinister reputation, since many nightblades are thieves, enforcers, assassins, or covert agents."
TES4 Oblivion Magic Spec -Light Armor.
"Nightblades are effective assassins and enforcers. Their speed and skills allow them to easily reach places most others could not. Nightblades dispose of opponents with a quick blade and Destruction magic. They are also skilled in Alteration magic, and are proficient in healing themselves. "
No damn blades mentioned anywhere. Stealth illusion based mages all the way. They had small weapons specialization but that did not defined them.
This is what maybe is the max weap crit with DK
Go khajit 6%
Go full medium 21%
Go 2Xdaggers =2*3.5+5=12%
Go Thief 3% or is it?
~42%
Night's Silence adds 5%
47%. Weapon crit. If I didn't forget anything.
Ok. Ok. Still 3 out of 4. Still not a freaking ranger but magic with light armor spec in all the TES games it was available as a premade class. And we certainly have our blades in TESO as magicka based class skills. They are more one use bound weapons though.SuraklinPrime wrote: »Most people didn't play a NB in any of the other TES game I think.xsorusb14_ESO wrote: »Every time I see a Nightblade talk about how class is a NightBLADE i'm reminded of the morons in GW2 who while bitching about Rangers (which deserved to be bitched about in that game for being kind of weak) would always talk about they weren't great with Bows compared to other classes and every single time it was always "We're RANGErs, we should be best at Range!"

Except flat out in the Oblivion description two sentences before you make that claim.
A lore valid NB would typically use illusion & stealth to sneak in and stick a blade in, thus the descriptions and class name. So maybe like a DW with abilities like Ambush & Shadow Cloak?
ZOS acknowledge that they need to fix some abilities and tweak others so the class doesn't have to morph into a sorcerer style cookie build.
Meanwhile the DW version on medium is quite viable for most aspects of the game and quite fun to play.
Agreed. Also, no realistic assassin would go dual wield. Assassins use single-wield blades, which is represented by the class skills already.Ok. Ok. Still 3 out of 4. For a ranger I would go templar or DK first not NB.
Yes the current NB class skills allow you to play the TES NB class concept pretty well, in somewhat varied way and relatively efficiently. If our skill would be all bugless I would be happy. For people that want to play a D&D type DW+BOW ranger or the D&D assassin unfortunately this is not the class that allows it. Ask Zeni to create something new that allows it.Agreed. Furthermore, if you look in morrowind, the Nightblade class has the following skills
Major Skills:
Mysticism
Illusion
Alteration
Sneak
Short Blade (single wield)
Minor Skills:
Light Armor
Unarmored
Destruction
Marksman
Security
As shown, magic skills make up 3/5 of major skills.
Next, in Oblivion, Nightblades doesn't even have marksman as an initially-boosted skill.
Hopefully, people will stop this nonsense that NB = DW/bow.

Which class does allow it?
That's the dps any class can do while they wear robes and staff and abuse animation canceling exploitNB is still broken.

LOL @ these comments. All classes are terrible with stamina builds. NB has the highest DPS in the game right now and you still think your class is broken. It's people like this that give ZoS terrible feedback is unbalance classes even more.
PS: Animation canceling is not an exploit.

The CLASS is broken, something like half our abilities don't work correctly which is verified by ZoS. Most of them are working now ZoS is in works to fix those broken abilities and tweak the passives. So far of all the changes to NB not one of them is to increase ST damage and the AOE damage increases coming are very minor (Path as an example). Veil buff increased ST and AoE DPS by a lot.
Yes Stamina builds are sub-par, for EVERY Class and ZoS is working on that too. But you cannot say that NB's aren't broken when we are. Highest DPS = Definately not broken I for one have never asked for a buff to our damage output or tanking ability, or solo ability, I just want all of our CLASS abilities to work as ZoS intended them too so they can be used if a player chooses to use them.
People constantly confuse "NB class is broken" with "buff NB so it's as OP as DK". OFC there are players out there that want the main class they play to be stupidly OP, but the VAST MAJORITY of players in ESO just want all the bugs with NB Class abilities fixed, nothing more. Can you list all of the ones that are "broken"? Because other then a few, most of them were fixed in previous patches

That is a dual wield/dagger/stamina/bow problem. NOT a Nightblade problem.
Yes, I have 50 of each of those skills as well.

I always say that to people and they always get mad at me haha

by the way, why the Aether set? Never tried this.deathpandax_ESO wrote: »LOL @ these comments. All classes are terrible with stamina builds. In the same group there is a dk doing 1.3k. You should stop giving terrible feedback.
And these are trials, this game does not start at vr12, go level up a nb and compare it to others.
Therefore, playing nightblades with destro/resto is totally in line with the description in Oblivion, simply because the "blade" is already built into the assassination and shadow skills.

Heavy armor is for tanking... it should never do the same dps as the other armor types... you can see that even by looking at the bonuses, most are tank related.
