I wonder why you guys ignore the person who said someone from ER is pulling 900 DPS with a DW build stamina build.

    Tell us more.
What did the other classes have for DPS? Because as you know, the shorter the fight, the higher dps.
Was he on 100% uptime on the bosses? Not switching to adds?

Some descriptions of the class from previous games.
    TES1Arena Mage group
"Nightblades are those mages who have perfected their arts to help in
activities involving infiltration, spying, and stealth. They are much like
thieves, creatures of the night, able to use their considerable powers to
help them in their nocturnal activities. In combat, Nightblades receive a
chance per level of scoring a critical hit (3x damage). Nightblades can
pick locks about as well as Rogues. They also receive 1.5x their INT in
    starting spell points"

    TES2 DaggerFall Mage Group
'Possibly the most feared of the classes is the Nightblade. They possess many of the skills and philosophy of the thiefly classes, combined with the powers of the mage.Their natural agility and stealth.and their mastery of the school of illusion, means nightblades are seldom seen.Though their hand can certainly be felt.Effective nightblades have high agility, high inteligence and willpower.
TES3 Morrowind Magic Specialization -Light armor
"Nightblades are spellcasters who use their magics to enhance mobility, concealment, and stealthy close combat. They have a sinister reputation, since many nightblades are thieves, enforcers, assassins, or covert agents."
TES4 Oblivion Magic Spec -Light Armor.
"Nightblades are effective assassins and enforcers. Their speed and skills allow them to easily reach places most others could not. Nightblades dispose of opponents with a quick blade and Destruction magic. They are also skilled in Alteration magic, and are proficient in healing themselves. "

No damn blades mentioned anywhere. Stealth illusion based mages all the way. They had small weapons specialization but that did not defined them.

    Bravo! Applause!

BS. We are discussing ESO. There arent 20+ classes in ESO like in those other games. The 4 that we have, are not Oblivion / Morrowind classes transplanded into a new game (where were templars and dragon knights in previous games?). The classes in ESO are meant to be broader categories encompassing several playstyles... each with a certain theme (NBs - blood/shadow, DKs - fire, SRCs - arcane, TMPs - light). Its not that a bloodmage / warlock NB shouldnt be possible or viable. Its that you should also have the option to play a typical leather/daggers assassin NB and be equally effective. It is implied both by class description and the preview on the character creation screen.

I never said that a a DW+Bow shouldn't be viable far from it. My point is that the notion that the right way or the standard way or the way supported by the TES lore is to play a NB with DW +Bow in medium armor is ridiculous. Whenever you see a thread about a successful NB tank or NB mage you get a flood of "taht is not the proper way to play a NB ". The only argument for that is the stupid charter creation NB getup and description. Nobody that looked at the skills before chasing the class or played older TES game with a NB would consider the ranger build to be standard.

I had played a sneak assassination based NB from lvl20 to 37. A fire Destro based Dunmer NB from 37 to Vr3.I played assassination again from VR 3 to 7. I was using DW +Bow+ 7 armor magicka based and only NB active skills. 2 daggers for the DW passives and extra speed and crit and 7 medium for stealth and crit no problem to getting VR content done. I changed to my initial tank NB idea at 7 since it is kind of my desired role in a team. Before 1.12 you didn't see that much talk about NB not being viable just that we have bugged skill.
