The time will show, becuase I think that there was a bulk sale to amazon (is EBay selling new products? or is it auction of boxes from people who preordered and later decided to buy CE, so they have unneeded license) and after ESO opened direct shop on their web page the Amazon had to do something with remaining purchased boxes.
Still there are some signs that it went below expectations, although now they will know the truth from the number of active players after one month.

Ebay these days is just like Amazon. The used article department is just a fraction of what they sell, most stuff is new, and people there have 'stores' just like on amazon.

For example: Amazon not on sale. Best Buy not on sale. Gamestop not on sale. Target not on sale. Walmart not on sale. Zenimax's online store not on sale.

A significant price cut this early on is not a good sign. It's not the end of times, but it's not a good sign at all.

For pete's sake the game is only discounted in the retail regular verison box. The digital versions are still the same price. Why if you are going to reply to something do you not even bother to read what you are replying to? This is absolutely normal.

Eh, whatever I guess. I don't buy it and you haven't really provided any information backing up your claims. I have seen many other MMO games that did not price cut physical copies with in 30 days. Specially by 20$.

It doesn't matter a whole lot to me though as to why, with the new console promotion I will get 2 months of play time and 2 versions of the game for 60$, instead of paying for just 30 days and one platform for 60$.

Ok go to any website and link me a digital version or imperial version on sale. Please.

The digital version sold in other webshops has always been cheaper, even on preorder.
The version in the shop on this site will probably always be full price as its for people who are stupid, lazy or in a hurry.

Interesting why there are such big differences - from 21 to 39. I mean are there people who say "hey, there is higher price and I always like to pay more".

The initial price was 60 USD that should be 43 EUR, then perhaps ZM sells small packs of licenses to some retailers to see what price might be best (means they consider making it cheaper).

Most people will buy from the first shop they find or they usually use. People who look around will always find bargains. People were buying Imperial Editions preorders from GMG for the price of teh Standard Edition

Listen, im not gonna get into an argument with you again cause i dont even like you. All i did was to show James that the game IS on sale, even in the digital version, something he adamantly denied.
This is not about the game, its about showing him that he was wrong. I am not going to judge the fact that its on sale, neither did i say that it means that the game is doomed.
All i did was to show him: yes, you can get the digital version way below the official price. What others make of it isnt my cup of tea.

Honest why is the subscribe number so import after just 1 month i would more interested know the subscribe number after 3 month or after 6 month of this year for then we know how many real subscribe player we have ask for those number now it just plain stupid to be honest.

Yes i have and honest i think is sad that people is worry so much about number i can tell if subscribe number fall we will notice in game trust me i was play AoC when still was a subscribe base and when subscribe number fall you see that server was become more and more dead and as long as you see still player run around you dont need to worry about how big subscribe number is.

Also i think we will see more and more flock over here after get more and more bored with WoW for atm WoW is not got put any big patch until the next expansion hit.

Ofc we are for WildStar hit next month but honest i think people are go lose interest WildStar really fast for it is just basically WoW on steroid when it come gfx and it is in space so it will be fun for few month but that it i think and ofc will see drop in subscribe number when WoW next expansion will come but that wont come until sometime after summer. But honest i think ESO have really good chance to be one of few MMO out on market that really can gave WoW a run for there money.

You label everyone you disagree with a troll so this really doesn't mean much. Game is on sale, weak reviews, many disgruntled players, issues in every aspect of the game, console is delayed but yeah, game is still doing great right?

Anyways to the rest of the people here who realize that some used copy on ebay or some obscure EU website might have a discount yes. The game is not discounted at any major retailer anywhere in anyplace people might actually buy the game.

Some guy selling a used copy on ebay doesnt count.

The box price of Skyrim didn't budge for months after launch. The biggest price cut I saw was like $1 or $2.
