Well, there better be 2,467,325 subs because if there is 2,467,324 or less I'm going to rage quit and then post repeatedly in the forums about how the game is dying and everyone should quit also.

Oh please come off it with the hyperbole. Look these forums only have 28,000 posts TOTAL. If lets say every post is an individual who is quitting that is a miniscule amount. I know you guys think its all bitterness and gnashing of teeth because you see a vocal minority repeating it here. Fact is this game has sold 300,000 physical copies and guaranteed like I said before at least 4 people bought direct from zenimax for every 1 who bought a physical box. Thats 1.5 million people or 50 times the total number of posts in these forums.

You're obviously blind to the cold hard truth then. The game has already renounced itself as probably the worst Mmorpg launch of all time by now. In all my years of Alpha, Beta testing, and playing pretty much any Mmorpg you can name out there, I've personally never seen any Beta, let alone a launch where you couldn't complete a quest.

For all your many years you clearly missed AO completely. This game is far from the worst launch of all time.

And you probably missed Starwars Galaxies and Vanguard. who's launches where not only awfull, but you also had lots of bugged quests and area's even 5 years into live.

And yes i loved the games both. SWG was awesome.

Well I can't give you subscription or box sales figures, but I can tell you that it was disclosed to the group of beta testers I was involved with that more than 5 million people applied to be beta testers, as of that particular date. With that level of interest I think we can safely assume that there were a very good number of box sales. First month subscription numbers are never true to the long term participation numbers so those would be fairly useless at this point in time.

Additionally these companies are wholly privately held and are not publicly traded unless I've completely misread the information about these guys. That means that there is no requirement to publish subscription information now or at any time. If at any time they do choose to disclose this information then it would be a completely voluntary release.

People who played the beta still have their accounts.
And yes plenty of them will get it on console so they have an right to stay.

VGchartz list 330K sales, however they only list retail store sales.
    My guess is 800-1500K

There was plenty of people that submitted applications probably hundreds of times. They have not gave a number of how many people are playing, because its not a number to be proud of.

But who cares, as long as you see people playing, wtf does it matter how many ppl play. You wont see all of them anyway.

It doesnt mean this at all. They sold 330,000 copies in April physical boxes. So many they had to make new imperial edition boxes three different times. All it means is amazon and gamestop want to clear these boxes out since most orders will be digital from now on. Note on ALL those sites the digital versions and the imperial physical versions are NOT on sale. Explain that to me.

ZOS has not given any data except the number who tried the beta and 5 mill sounds plausible.
Now the next question is how many bought the game, just an faction of them did and the only data is the 330K retail sales from other sources.

I am not certain but i believe the asian market might not exist because of the look and setting of this game.

The game isnt allowed in CHina for one because of undead. The chinese have culture laws that prevent depicting honored ancesters in negative ways, ie skeletons/zombies. Zenimax would have to redesign the game for a chinese market.

So its the look and setting lol. What hapened with warcraft in china? Very popular+ has undead, will travel.

From what Ive read WoW in china has NO undead in it.

(WoW) There is an entire playable race of undead that is a fundamental part of the game lore... If these statements are true, how then did the company change that part of the game?

As for where the $$ goes from Blizzard's WoW, I read an article last year (I wish I could find it now-it may have been in my local newspaper) that they were not focusing on WoW as a game so much anymore, but rather bleeding it and siphoning the $$ into their other projects (I forget which game they mentioned specifically).

As for the OP's question, I too am curious about the numbers. I hope Zenimax posts something about it after free access ends.

For pete's sake the game is only discounted in the retail regular verison box. The digital versions are still the same price. Why if you are going to reply to something do you not even bother to read what you are replying to? This is absolutely normal.

Eh, whatever I guess. I don't buy it and you haven't really provided any information backing up your claims. I have seen many other MMO games that did not price cut physical copies with in 30 days. Specially by 20$.

It doesn't matter a whole lot to me though as to why, with the new console promotion I will get 2 months of play time and 2 versions of the game for 60$, instead of paying for just 30 days and one platform for 60$.

I don't understand your obsession with digital versions. Or how that in anyway means something substantial. Other than someone will pay 60$ for a digital copy of regular ESO, and anyone else will pay 60$ for imperial if they just wait a few days for a physical copy (or go to GS and pick it up).

If your talking about the physical collectors edition, no, those may not see a drop due to the physical items you get within the box. That is the difference between those 2.

regarding china and undead: it seems more punitive imo. they had skeletons, then went to a new company to gain higher revenues and all of a sudden the censors crack down on them.
