Fell free not to comment in a thread if you're going to be actively encouraging people to obscure information that will help fix a bug.
Not reporting the source of a bug because you want to continue to use it has another name. It's called exploiting.

By golly you are right. I'm totally exploiting the .01% chance drop that some crates has to drop a tomato. Because that's repeatable and easily exploitable.

The drop rate means nothing. It's an exploit because you're gaining an advantage from it AND not reporting it when it happens. Obviously you're not doing it purposefully because it's a random drop, but not reporting the details because you want to continue to gain an advantage from it, regardless of how small the advantage, is tantamount to exploiting.

In fact, if you weren't exploiting, then you wouldn't care if they fixed the bug.
The fact that you care proves you're intent is to exploit.

Are you going to make a useful post at any time?

Lol. This is too funny so soon oats and tomatoes will be traded like bites and motifs. We have just found the next hot lemming commodity and we know who to blame for the increased chat spam.

This is the most idiotic game-design decision yet. It fauvors people creating Hireling alts, and even more it fauvors people who can afford 2 accounts. But of course, ZMO is fine with encouraging people to multibox, its all bout more money right? No way ill report which boxes had these, find out yourself.

she said lvl 2 hireling.. thats abit more difficult ,and id say a lvl 3 hireling has a lot better chances to find

No, it's not exploiting, it's being in disagreement with ZoS over the abundance of Tomatoes and Oats, and choosing to not assist in this bug reporting by way of silent protest.

Also, we want more Oats, please, ZoS - @ZoS_JessicaFolsom I do please hope you have fed this back.

Be grateful that you don't see what the audience there is seeing, judging on the woman to the far left it's quite shocking.

    Hi all,

We can confirm that oats and tomatoes are indeed in the game and working as intended. We double checked when we started seeing threads like this, just to be sure.

Here's a little info, to help you:
    • Currently, you will never find oats or tomatoes out in the world. This is working as intended.
    • Both oats and tomatoes are only available from Provisioner Hireling boxes. They are rare by design.
    • They're only available if you have the Provisioner Hireling passive skill to Rank 2 or greater.

I have got provisioning hireling level 3/3 for 3 weeks now opening containers every day and I NEVER have got any tomatoes or oats from their containers. I know some people were lucky enough to get some of those. But... I've got 10+ of all other RARE ingredients you need to craft purple recipes. Comparatively to those the rareness of tomatoes and oats is just unjustifiable and inacceptable. Please adjust that. It is a bare farce!
  • james_vestbergb16_ESO
What's interesting, atleast to me, is the fact that we were supposed to know about hirelings beeing the only source for certain ingredients...how?

Has this been stated somewhere? I havent seen any information stating certain ingredients could only come from hirelings. If so could someone direct me to that piece of information? Also does this apply to other crafting professions?

If it does please share that information aswell.

    cheers.

As an aside, I appreciate you might want to include some rare ingredients for making your awesome recipes of purple rareness....but were "oats" and "tomatoes" really the best you could come up with?

They are probably amongst the most common of foods, prevalent in the majority of countries and cultures throughout the history of mankind. But, only available via hirelings in ESO.

You have the full gamut of your moon-sugar-induced imaginations to come up with awesome foods of undisputed rarity and value, clear in their inherent magical properties. But no, it's oats and tomatoes that are the creme of the crafting crop, and that have suddenly all but vanished from the face of Tamriel.

Tbh, i like the system in this one, makes it rare and means you can only use those food items when you really need to, not like the blue recipes which everyone has 20 of.

whykillme, you should read the thread.

There is a veteran rank 5 recipe that requires salt and pepper which is easily gained out of containers. It is a purple recipe. I have over 30 of those in my bag.

Oats are only available through Provisioner hirelings levels 2 & 3. They do not drop in-game and their rarity is intended. Same with tomatoes.
Catches-the-Sun - Argonian Templar - Master Smith, Provisioner, Chemist & Tailor
Valaren Arobone - Dunmer Flamewalker - Master Woodworker, Provisioner, Assassin
Kazahad - Khajiiti Arcane Archer - Master Thief
    V'orkten - Redguard Swordmaster
Finnvardr the Frenzied - Werewolf Berzerker

You say that but my self and others have gained them from sources that were not provisioner hirelings. We have posted in the thread about it.

Four trade guilds and they couldn't even give you one Oats, I'm a provisioner myself didn't know they were in such high demand though I barely see anyone asking for them.

Thank you for repeating what ZoS have themselves said in this post. Your ability to echo is impressive. Your ability to add value to a thread needs work.
