Daytime maintenance AGAIN?

What does early afternoon mean. The job of the moderators is to communicate with the players and it seems that they are using the vaguest possible terms to communicate. I can only assume that they mean early afternoon in America which isn't much good to Europeans who are likely to be playing on the European Mega Server.

As for them fixing stuff, I haven't seen any evidence that anything is being fixed. We haven't been told what is broken, what is being fixed and why it had to be done at this time rather than tomorrow morning so as to space the maintenance out a little.

They only shut it down if they have too. So asume there is a very good reason that we mere Users simply don't have the right to know (because it goes into business secrets, like code).

I am baffled at the 4pm message saying that the EU server will be up again at "early afternoon" It was past early afternoon when it was posted.

They did, actually. The patch notes are posted in the Patch Note forum. I didn't know last night because I didn't look last night because I didn't care last night, or now. Or ever lol. I found out this morning after I did my chores and sat down to have a little play time while the kids are at school. It still doesn't matter to me - I am happy they are patching things. I have other things to do besides sit here and make my butt bigger and my muscles atrophy. (Notice I did not write better things to do lol)

The patch notes for today's maintenance were posted YESTERDAY in the patch note forum. If you folks are going to get this upset when the servers are down for maintenance, then I recommend that you check the forum each night before bed and anytime you log out, just to have that advance warning.

They had maintenence this morning wich lasted several hours, and when server was back up running there was a patch that was downloaded. Im a bit suprised they took it back down again now actually. (EU)

You realize those are the patch notes for the morning maintenance? They don't say squat about this "early afternoon" mainteance.

Speaking of which, what does "early afternoon" mean? It's 6:15 pm BST now, that's... Not really "early afternoon" anymore, is it?

Something lost in translation methinks... but, just so you know, the English word "night" means when it is dark. That's just what it means. It is when it is not day. I'm struggling to think if we have a word for midnight to dawn (other than colloquialisms like graveyard shift). Of course we all use it vaguely and subjectively as well but there's no time imposed on the English word "night".

Evening, strictly, is the transition from day to night but it's real usage is as vague as can be. It can be night and evening simultaneously depending on who you speak to. Perhaps we need more precise words.

Or... we could use the actual clock as someone suggested.

@ZOS_GinaBruno, fancy telling us what "early afternoon" means? Is that EU time, in which case you missed the timeframe with hours already, or is it US time, in which case it's utterly, mindnumbingly dumb, since you're talking to EU players about the EU megaserver?

Whelp, as long as they feed my two horses, clean out gold spammers in my mail (just the spammers please, all other mail is needed). Fix the guys that don't want to duel ( they simply refuse no matter how many times my character blinks in and out of Tameriel -relog-) since April 5th so I can finish that storyline and quest. Destroy a few gold farmer bots, relieve the poor public dungeon bosses from being hounded by even more gold farmer bots, so us regular players can give them a headache instead. Fix the voice of the anchors that vibrate loudly across the realm into the dungeons (Yes they want us to know they bring doom, but honestly in dungeons?).

All is good. I can just read the daily forums and attempt to clean out my over-burdened email that is spammed by Zenimax for reporting Gold spammers.
