Sort this mess out. Twice lost upgrades and money now and no action other than 'we are aware of the problem'. I'm sure you are aware that we will be choosing to pay for this 'service' once our included month's subscription is up.

    Incident #140413-150047
20 bank slots and the items occupying them are gone.

*Update: It appears all the "extra" items were shunted off to an alt's bags. So at this point the only issue I have are the 2 missing bank expansions.

Figured I'd note this here since there is no way to update the actual ticket...

That's pretty much what happened to me (explained in the long post above)
And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. All that is left, is whispers of the adventures they had.

They need to get their CSRs on the same page. My CSR assured me I would get my stuff back when it's fixed. I don't know what's right and what isn't, but they should at least have all their people saying the same thing.
  • operationarmchair
Very sad to see that the bank slot/items missing issue isn't being fixed in today's patch. My wife and I canceled our subscriptions over the weekend because of this bug and I was so hoping that a future patch meant today.

I'll log in when the server comes back up just to make sure it wasn't fixed, but at this point I think I'm going to stop watching the forums and just give up on ESO all together.

Funny story, my wife and I might be cancelling our subs due to this as well.

Definitely *not solved*. Still missing 110 bank slot upgrade and 20+k gold stored in bank.

This bug has hit me twice, but no items lost (that I can tell) and I haven't upgraded/stored gold in bank since the first time this happened to me.

Just a little update from me. My status is NOT solved

I am still missing two bank upgrades (and possibly items and gold).

I am still an unhappy customer.

Once this gets resolved I would be a happy camper if They would set us up with 100 bank and Character slots and reset the cost of upgrades to the beginning. Personally I think that would make a lot of Customer base very happy. In my case you can you can keep the gold I have lost on upgrades ( I have lost no items with the bank reset).

Not having a functional bank impacts game play a great deal, especially if you want to do any sort of crafting. Losing your items is a massive deal, so is losing your gold. Getting mixed messages from customer service about an issue that had been here since beta with no resolution on the horizon certainly is worth talking with your sub.

Making an alt isn't a solution if you have a bank that can delete your inventory at any time.

Sad to say this issue messed with my spouse enough that the decision to play this game is becoming a stress. Already the time organising inventory space was our biggest problem with the game. Then the bank wipes threw petrol and flame on that problem.

Give us a craft item tab that holds any and all craft gear automatically like many other MMO's or more space please.

Agree; in the past 10 days since I was first hit with this bug, I've probably spent as much time handling "inventory management" as I've been playing. :(

For you maybe.. But for many it isn't so much the bug itself that is the problem, its the mess this has become.

When I say mess, I mean...
    1) inconsistent messaging
    2) lack of any warning to the player base at large
    3) poorly managed CS process

As a potential customer, I feel they are aware of the issue - Good Thing
As a potential customer, I don't feel they are taking this seriously enough based on my above points - Bad Thing

Some players lost a crap ton of time invested with this bug. The problem is that Zenimax hasn't really been able to instill a sense of trust that the bug will be fixed and that impacted players will have all lost bits returned. That in and of itself is a problem!

I really hope Zenimax follows through on this one. How they handle this sets the mark so to speak as to how any other potential crippling issues are handled.

    Hail and well met,

I am sorry I was unable to reach you before the latest callback time. If you would prefer another callback, please let us know when you're going to be available, and the latest we can contact you.

I can address the question regarding the bank glitch. We have identified why it is happening, we have a solution for the next patch and we have tracked down the missing items and gold that were lost. Players should be receiving them via in-game mail once the issue is completely resolved.

I hope I was able to properly address at least one of your questions. Again, I am sorry that we were not able to reach you during normal hours. Please let us know if we can offer further assistance.

I have other cheese-related tasks to perform for milord Sheogorath, I suspect swordplay will be involved, so wish me luck! I hope he doesn't feed me to Skeevers again for saying, "Irregardless".

Email I just received from support on the issue.
    TBH...looks very promising.

TBH until I see an announcement on the front page of the site or the forum telling this is what is going to happen, I'm not considering the issue resolved.

After spending a total of an hour tonight doing the mule shuffle routine in between leveling sessions, I've decided to cancel my subscription.

I love the game, but this is not acceptable. The fact that the game launched with a bug like this is an appalling, and the fact that even now it hasn't been fixed is even worse. To top if off, it looks like there are going to be very slow manual restorations for all of those affected. I figure voting with my wallet is the best way to get ZOS's attention.

If the bug is corrected and I am compensated to my satisfaction before my 30 days are up, I will consider re-subbing.

Same here. I had subbed for 6 months when the game went live, and then canceled my sub a few days ago due to this breaking the game for me, and the poor response from customer (non)service. 15 days to get this right or...tick, tick, tick...OUT. You can be sure I will be spreading the word on social media as well, if things are not fixed by the end of the month. I'll also encourage every gamer I know to do the same.

Not that I'm upset or anything.

Not sure if you're trolling or not. Collecting stuff is one of the ways you progress in this game, and having it randomly deleted means that progress is lost. I've never had that happen in an mmo before even with launch bugs. Continuity of character progression is vital for a game in this genre. If ESO isn't going to be able to guarantee that, then I don't want to play it.
  • mike_skleinub17_ESO
Yes, using alts to manage inventory is a hassle. I've been doing it since the bug hit over the weekend. However..it takes ME less than 10 minutes total to xfer stuff over from to the other to the other. Usually I can wait to do it until I'm about done for the evening anyway. I also "lost" some food mats that I could use now, but in the end, its not a big deal. Not even remotely.

My 3rd alt holds all the gems, and some heavy armor stuff that I'm waiting to research. Since I'm at the 3day time now, it doesn't matter where its stored.
  • Sacred_Warrior
While I am also irritated by this issue (it's happened to me three times so far), I've learned a great deal about how to handle it and not to over-react. It's not a reason to unsub. Being the proactive gent that I am, I organized and moved everything onto alts for the time being, and I haven't lost any items in any of the occurrences. I know it's happened three times because I've received (and deleted to avoid cheating) the included mail. AFAIK, you don't lose the items, they just get moved to wherever there is free space. While this time spent moving around items should be unnecessary and it IS time-consuming, I feel that the issue will be solved soon enough and everyone will have their bank space back. Patience is a virtue, and we're all only human. Good CS will hopefully compensate us with something enticing, or maybe give us a little something extra for our trouble.

Not even remotely trolling. Totally, utterly serious. If something this minor causes people to unsub, you were never serious about playing anyway. We aren't even past the first month yet, there WILL be issues. Guaranteed. For the most part, issues have been resolved quickly.

If this still happens in six months, then you've got something. In the meantime, lighten up, have a tall glass of calm down juice and move on.

    ... but hardly unsub worthy

Unsubing is ... free. So, about worth...?

The real question is if it is 'worthy' of subbing. Not for me until it is more stable. Missing bank slots aren't the only issue. People have had character skills wiped with no points to reassign, and other issues that effect game play.
    Annoying yes...
Yes, using alts to manage inventory is a hassle.

I am perfectly content that you will continue to play and pay while they work out the annoyances, and I won't suggest you shouldn't. If that's how you want to spend your time and money. If the game stabilizes, I might subscribe in the future (I think it was turning out to be a fun game, just too much instability and lack of communication from them regarding the issues for my tastes and money). I pay to play games to relax, not to tolerate annoyances. For continuing to play while tolerating things I find pretty darn annoying, I would expect to GET paid, not do the paying. But that's just me. You can disagree. Carry on and enjoy.

Well, I have 3 accounts (imperial edition) at this moment (me, wife, son) Only I faced bank loss issue 2 times so far, maybe because I am our "Family Craft" with 7 chars (6 dedicated crafts each one proffesion) - they both have basic 60slot bank and only 1 character - cos I am their "trash bin".

Anyway all 3 subs won't going to be extended, if my bank will remain unsecure.

Just a word about some of the "anger" I am sensing towards customer support in this and other threads. I work in a role that involves customer support (amongst a lot of other things) and I know everyone busts their butts trying to do the right things for everyone. Sometimes there are just not enough pairs of hands to physically do everything and sometimes you are restrained by the systems and processes (and managers) around you - not to mention IT issues and data management systems which are out of your control.

Yes the game has serious issues and yes this bank issue is a real horror but please try to accept that the people you are dealing with are human and are really trying to do the best they can for everyone. If they can only deal with a certain number of tickets per day and they are getting 5 times that many then getting angry at them simply won't make the problem go away any faster.

I also deal with some people who genuinely have a massive sense of over self importance and self entitlement. You are not the only person in the world with a problem with this game. At the moment it seems like the most important thing there is but there are hundreds in the same boat.

So take a deep breath before you have a go at customer support and put yourself in their shoes for a minute - or two if it takes that long.

The issues will get sorted and everyone is doing all they can to make this happen. This game will come to be one of the best you have ever played. Just hold on tight to the side of the boat and the waves will settle. Some things just take more time - sometimes a lot more time - than you would want or like.

When people have received responses that had nothing to do with their issue, then that is customer service failure, and does not indicate that they are trying their best. Some people have received a positive response from CSR who were well informed and responded appropriately, however, there are others who are encountering blanket closing of issues with an inaccurate response to their issue. That is why people are getting angry (myself included).

Additionally, if you read all of the posts here, some people are being told that the issue will be fixed and items/slots restored, while others are being told they will not. Mixed messaging from customer service exacerbates the discontent instead of alleviating it.

That may not be indivduals not trying when a seemingly wrong response is given - there could be a system that sends automatic responses based on a code or a mail merge field and there could be issues with those merges or codes - right infomation goes in - wrong output comes out. I have seen it happen.

I'm not defending the issues. I am defending the people on the frontline who didn't make these in game problems and have to put up with the anger and upset they have caused.

First, yes customer service folks are people and deserve to be treated respectfully. It isn't their fault that a company is run by decision-makers who use them as human-shields to deflect from how badly they treat customers whose money they take without delivering value. On the other hand, they did choose to work for those clowns and chose to be used as human shields by them. So yeah, respect, but through gritted teeth.

Second, the "it's no big deal" nonsense is silly. A lot of gamers are kids who put up with all sorts of corporate abuse because they're kids. The problem is that we grew up and expect companies to deliver value instead of excuses and silence. As others have written, this speaks volumes about how incompetent and disrespectful this company is.

Only having 60 slots instead of 100 has added about an hour of login/logout and inventory shuffling per day to the way I play. Not to mention the 22k or so gold that vaped. Yes, I will recover, but I certainly understand unsubscribing because of this. I haven't because I really like this game otherwise, but I am almost there myself.
