Funniest response ever for the reason not to call me back

" As it turns out it is pretty late so I've decided to reply via email. I did not want to disturb your wonderful dreams of vanquishing Molag Bal."

Which really didn't make me laugh, as much as curse.

This was the e-mail I received from support last night regarding this issue. It didn't work for me but maybe it'll work for others.

"We are aware of an issue that prevents customers from using special characters when entering their billing address to purchase the game from The Elder Scrolls Online store.
As a workaround, try the following steps:
Try clearing your cache and cookies
    Switch to another webbrowser
Make sure your information matches the information you gave your bank
    Do not use abbreviations
Do not use any APO FPO address
The zipcode field only accepts standard US zipcodes at the moment, if your zipcode is not a 5-digit number, please fill out the other fields correctly, choose Non-US forState/Province and enter 00000 in the zipcode field. You will be able to update your informationat a later date.
Please replace any special characters with English-language equivalents (e.g.: use ae for ä, ue for ü, oe for ö, ss for ß, efor é/è)
We also advise players to remove any dots, commas and dashes from their address and post code."

I currently have used a fake address to set up my subscription for now and then once this issue has been resolved I'll just change it back. I think the problem for me may have been that my street address is for my housing complex, maybe the system was having a hard time associating the address with a specific house (even though I put in my specific house number along with the complex address).

yep already got that email. Which had already tried every single one of those things before support even emailed it. And i live in a house with a normal street address. It just wont accept it.

And im using a credit card not a game time card. Would rather not have my credit card locked because I ordered something that my address didnt match up with my card.

I'm pretty sure my problem is Elderscrollsonline just not recognizing my zip code/town for some reason.

Same issue here, no variation of my billing address works - even when typing numbers as words

I'm also having this problem using google chrome. My address has no special characters in it so i don't understand what the problem is.
  • Freshmango55
My address has no special characters as well, it's obviously not the card/bank because I used it the other day just fine.

Well it can't be the card, cause you put in the address before putting in the card info right?
That's what it is for me anyway
Has to be the site in not registering some zip codes

Yep - it needs to match your credit card. That's the issue we can't seem to get around.

545 views on this thread now. And no ZOS support person on here since friday night. And all it was was to tell me i would be contacted, which never really happened

I had the same problem when I pre-ordered the game. I found that by putting the entire address on one line I could get it to work.

what do you mean by putting it all on one line? LIke state and zip code on the same address line? cause it never accepts zip codes if the zip code is blank, and my address is only 1 line...

When I called last week for the pre-purchase regarding this issue. The Tech support told me they would look into the issue and it was pushed to a developer. Also that I would receive a call back regarding - Nothing since. I ignored it because I purchased through Amazon. Now back to square one.

Ya i had the same issue on prepurchase, and they called me straight away, but couldnt solve my issue, so i ended up ordering through gamestop online not even thinking i would have the same problem just to register my game
  • Freshmango55
This submit a subscription to register your product key thing is an obvious problem, I wish they would change it. I can't even get my product registered...
  • dragonsquarterb16_ESO
It doesn't seem to have anything to do with anything except the software being wonky.

It took me ages to subscribe today. I got to the page where I had to choose a payment method but each time I chose either Visa or Paypal it told me there was a problem and to contact customer services.

Well I knew that would be entirely pointless, so I just kept going back to entering my code and attempting to subscribe over and over again, until suddenly, for no apparent reason, it decided to work and i'm now a subscriber and am back in the game (huzzzah!). So just keep on trying until it decides to play nice.

I'de rather not try to enter my credit card 50 times in a row. I've had bad experiences in doing this.

No this seems to be a different issue. It's simply not accepting any address variation no matter how it's entered. I presume it has to be something linking the zip code with the city/town.

Funny - I just received an e-mail to participate in an online customer survey for Zenimax.

Good way to kill time waiting for a response.

I have a mini vacation from work coming up this week and I'm really hoping the issues are resolved asap so I can get a little play time in.

OP- you need to go through the threads, find the names of some of the Mods, the green name people, and flag them here like @Mission‌ , it is the ONLY way they look at these other than posts getting flagged AFAIK.

They can at least escalate your support ticket.
What do you gain by criticizing a CSR complaint?
  • Freshmango55
Wish we would get a green to come answer us on what's going on.

My issues was supposed to already be escalated, but even after being escalated it took them around 14 hours to send me an email at 3 am. When they were supposed to call... But im gonna flag every single one @ZOS_AlexD

I still find it funny that when I had this same issue preordering the game, And ZOS customer support called me. They asked me to confirm my identity, by giving them my address, which they clearly have on file. So why the site doesn't accept it now is beyond me, They had it on file I believe from signing up for beta. Which i did through the site

If you haven't got it sorted out yet, have you tried putting your entire address on one line and if you live on a rural route, tried abbreviating it to RR? I live in Missouri too, and sometimes that appeases finicky address verification systems for me.

well ***, i finally got it to work, putting the entire address in one line did the trick.
