Zenimax and Amazon dropped the ball.

  • thegamekittenub17_ESO
@EQBallzz, This is exactly what my fiancé and I did. We provided the order number. A couple of chats where the Amazon reps lied and blamed Zenimax for their failure to deliver said package. We supplied proof with emails and such.

The simple fact remains even after taking the time to send proof, we have had absolutely no response from Zenimax. Wait, one response to the ingame help send an email. It was outdated and a copy paste response (It assured us that they made Amazon assure them the package would be delivered by the 4th and the email by us was sent late evening on the 5th).

I am not understanding their business methods as of now, it is like they want to fail. They want to lose customers. That they are trying to go down the path to F2P.

What does it actually cost them to help their customers that went beyond and bought their limited edition box copies? Right now it might save them to do something to help.

Zenimax, please extend the grace period. We shouldn't be penalized for purchasing the most expensive option to support the game.

I can handle launch bugs, I can handle crashes, extended maintenance times, and rampant gold sellers at launch, this, however, is absolutely ridiculous. I payed money to be able to play a game. Now I am unable to. I understand shipping delays and whatnot, but this method of needing a game code to play at the start is bull. Why not let me enter my billing info now, then redeem my code when I actually get the box? Or provide a temporary code for all boxed orders? I can take a lot, but I'm tempted to cancel my order and walk away, which is a shame, because I was thoroughly enjoying the game.

Has anyone else gotten a 'Customer Service Survey'? Just received and replied to their question 1. Was your problem resolved? Doh! 2. Were you happy with the CS response? Really? 3. What can we do to improve CS? That one took awhile to fill out.

Same problem, and pretty close to just canceling my order with gamestop, and saying to heck with it. I realize that two copies of the preordered Imperial Edition, 2 year long subscriptions, and two horses are small potatoes, but at least I will be getting what I paid for, in that case. Which is a real shame, because I was having a good time playing the game. :/

Indeed - it would seem that this company has failed after all. @ZOS_AlanG - there is no excuse for what behavior, exactly? What there is no excuse for is the failure of ZOS to do anything for the hundreds of people affected by this problem after months and months of problems. These forums are the only way we have of communicating with you people, since apparently customer support doesn't give a mud crab's rear about us. Then again, it seems that nobody does or ever will. After months of what you call "patience", all we've been rewarded with is terrible service in support and vague messages that tell us absolutely nothing about what's going on.
It is entirely acceptable for people to post about their frustrations, disappointment, or criticisms. However, all posts on the forums need to be civil and within the forum rules, whether positive or negative.

We have been working with Amazon to improve this situation, and will continue to post updates in this thread when we have them. Unfortunately, at this time we do not have a solution for those people still waiting for delayed copies of the game.

@ZOS_AlanG - No, that's a lie, you do have a solution. The solution is "too bad, so sad, you'll just have to wait until your box shows up, and if it never does, you can miss out on those pre-order benefits too." Don't lead people on to thinking your company is going to work on some kind of "answer" when it's clear that Zenimax is satisfied with the notion of just letting this one work itself out on its own.

An official response that "We are sorry, but we are not going to do anything about this situation at this time" with a little "We will try to avoid this kind of problem in the future" would be appropriate, but ZOS can't even muster up the courage for that.

Instead of reminding us all that we have to follow the rules, why don't you invest some time helping your customer service reps update their canned responses so they at least make sense? The copy-paste function hasn't heard that it's after April 4th and Early Access has ended.

CALLING ALL PLAYERS TO SPAM THESE FORUMS LIKE THERE IS NO TOMMROW!!!!!!

Please do not threaten to spam the forums, or otherwise encourage that people break the forum rules. We understand that everyone waiting for their copy of the game is very frustrated, but that does not excuse such behavior.

While I don't condone vain threats, the fact remains you know what the situation is...

    1) Many of us who purchased a physical copy of the game are still waiting for it to show up which still could be DAYS away.

    2) This is not our (the players fault). We were all led to believe that buying a physical copy of the game would not impede our game play, only hold up the pre-order in game items (which is perfectly fine)

    3) All we (the players) would like to do is play YOUR game. We are not trying to "get away" with anything and are at the mercy of the shipping gods to deliver our boxes, Instead of understanding however, you (Zenimax) refuse to extend the grace period to a reasonable period of time or even allow us to enter our payment options NOW and pay for an extra month.

This is doing nothing but creating bad blood between Zenimax and a percentage of the player base. Considering all the other issues Zenimax is dealing with atm, is a few extra days grace REALLY going to cripple the company or will it show the players you actually care about them and they come first (and not the almighty dollar)???

Hell you can even start the 30 day countdown and begin deducting it from us as of the 4th, we do not care!

So fix this damn problem that you (Zenimax) have created with your distributors and stop alienating your players.

Um, Amazon at this point really isn't the problem anymore. Not sure how "improving the situation" is going to get my copy shipped to me any sooner (especially since it's in transit). Amazon dropped the ball and now is Zenimax's opportunity to pick up that ball and extend the grace period.

I don't think there is a solution, as the solution has already been provided to us. Early access/grace period is over, time to put your subs in, or dont play.

    plain and simple.

Well we can't get subs with out paying for the game again. See we don't have the game registration code that's in the box. We have to wait till when ever the game arrives at our door step, so extending the grace period for the rest of today would be great for the people that didn't get there box Friday.

I know, as i am not getting my game until tomorow. I am in the same boat, but they clearly have told us the solution. Early access/grace period is over. Maybe considering that havnt said much on it is because it is what it is. Grace period is over, time to pay to play. While it sucks, it may be something we have to deal with as we havn't gotten a response in days of the grace period situation.

@ZOS_AlanG‌ - why don't you try to answer to things like this instead of telling people you all understand our frustrations when you clearly don't? If anyone at all at Zenimax understood our frustrations or was truly "passionate" about helping us (as they cut and paste into every auto reply they actually manage to send), then there wouldn't be 26+ pages to this forum thread. Tell us why support tickets are blatantly being ignored while people pay money then sit without a product.

I understand - moderators that respond to these posts are grunts (no offense) who don't have the authority to do anything about this. They manage the community and make sure to keep it free of spam, abuse, etc. I'm sure everyone appreciates that service and the hard work you do. But, what people don't appreciate is "cover-up" messages and half truths. If your employers screwed us, and you know they did, then don't pretend they didn't. Don't pretend to understand how we feel. Because of political correctness, you won't be able to tell the truth. But at the very least, don't lie and tell us you are working on something when ZOS clearly has no plan of helping any of us at all.

ZOS is waiting for us to shut up and stop posting here. They are waiting for this to blow over. Higher ups see this and simply say: "Just give me a few days and they'll forget this ever happened. If they are desperate enough to play, they'll just buy a digital copy and we'll make a profit." We aren't stupid. We see through it. We aren't monkeys, and we will not jump through your hoops. We have a right to be heard and a right to get what we paid for.

This - if the best response to a "known" issue they can muster up is out-of-date canned CS e-mails, what are they going to do when you /actually/ have a problem? What is the response going to be like when a major bug affects >50% of the game population? You think this is a disaster, just wait for it.

Same here. We have the Early Access code tied to our account, so we clearly have the game, why kick us out? I preordered on EBGames and the tracking code they sent me shows that expected delivery is April 8th. That is very unfair seeing as we paid the most money!

PS Some of us took off vacation time back in January to play the weekend after early release, thinking surely the game would ship to us by then. This has had a large impact, beyond just delaying some light fun entertainment. I get it's hard to track if every single person crying wolf is indeed the victim of these outside vendors, or if they are just angling for free play time. But it's your reputation on the line. So what do you do? Worry about a few days of free play or build loyalty? FYI the free play days which do lead to more loyalty, actually translates to extremely cheap marketing dollars... how much did you guys spend on conventional marketing anyways?

Thats called the grace period ending. They told us the grace period would end at this point in time, and that we would have to do these things in order to continue to play, so dont "not really" me, because im not stupid. And ofcourse you cant pay without your activation code, as i would like to as well, anybody could claim to be waiting for there game, and given an option to pay to play. thats almost like a free game, and with all the customer support crap going on at ZENI, i highly doubt they would allow somthing like that, nor have the time even if they didnt have so much going on.

So when i say we were informed, it clearly means, our grace period is over, and nothing has changed until were told otherwise. Common sense. I hate to be so brash as i am in the same boat, and have been as i bought my i.e early, and was promised delivery on the 4th as well, but we were clearly informed. Anything else were asking for at this certain time pertaining to grace period is a gimme gimme thing, not the other way around.

Them telling us about this so called "grace period" ending means about as much as a fly on a skeever's back end because there is nothing we can do about when our games will be delivered to us. If they gave us the option to pay now despite not having a code that they failed to deliver in a timely fashion I'm sure many of us would take that option. However, they have not and probably will not try to work with us to fix their screw-up.

EDITED TO REFLECT YOUR EDITS: This is not a gimme gimme thing. Many of us have written proof, documentation, and solid evidence of our orders and when they will be shipped. In any court of law, this would be evidence. In any world of logic, when such evidence is presented, it would be acted upon. But, though people have presented this evidence to those in charge, they have been and continue to be ignored. If you are fine with being stepped on, that's up to you. Don't force that logic on others.
