I bought this game on this website, paid $89 for it, which was a stretch for a game, and now I have to pay more before I can access the "free" 30 days that supposedly came with the game ?
I don't think "free" means what they think it means . . . .
I don't mind setting up a payment method as is required in most other MMO games, but simply don't want to pay for anything in advance before I have used the time alloted with the game purchase, I would have thought the $89 payment would be plenty for "verification"...
Would really like to hear something from zenimax on this, is this not open to being changed ? (if it is %100 required to pay before playing the free time, I still haven't seen it explicitly mentioned).

What kind of nonsense is this!?
Deposit $3 dollars
If you gotta plan a 15 dollars a month expense you shouldn't be playing videogame, you should be looking for a job.

Yup totally right, it doesn't affect me but I would have expected them to do this with 1$ or 2$ exactly as how paypal is doing instead of testing the exact price.
Couse you can't use recurring with that. I totally undertsand you...ProsaicProse wrote: »Funny thing is, I -have- the money to pay for a 60 day period, but they don't like Visa Gift cards anymore (they only liked it when I bought the game, it seems). As for Game Time cards and codes? They are sold out everywhere I've looked, and Zenimax don't even allow a one time 60 day purchase, like I usually do with ALL MMO's I've played - pre-paid game time card or code.

I used an account with $0 in it to sub, it could not have taken any money out immediately because it would have bounced, it clearly says it will charge the account when the 30 days free game time has expired.
Calm a bit, and check it out before posting (unlike me who had a spit then tried it and realised what actually happens).
I wonder if all the people having trouble with it are choosing a subscription ?
Because if that's the issue just setup the sub and if you really don't want the game after the next few weeks, cancel it and no money will be taken or reserved or touched in any way from your account.
Thank you for choosing the 30-Day subscription for The Elder Scrolls® Online
When your current Game Time expires, you will be billed $15.00AUD + applicable taxes for another 30 days of Game Time.
Was NOT charged at all, no transaction was made to my bank, no money was taken from my account...
I thought it sounded a bit off, it seems like if that's happening to some people it must be from game codes / ?
If I want to cancel the payment I can do so before the 30 day free play is up, but if I'm playing the game it stands to reason I would want a sub. Starting to look like a mountain out of a mole hill.

Not the response we expected I guess:"

Hey there, everyone. Just a reminder to please keep the conversation on-topic, and relating to the discussion at hand.
Thanks!"
Entertainment is not something that has to paid. And I don't live in the US.
I think is common sense to spend accordingly to what you make moneywise.
If you don't have 15 bucks to spend on videogames don't subscribe to a 15 dollar/month game. I want a Ferrari, can't afford it tough, it's entertainment as well.
Simple math ... now stop complaining, and work on getting a job. Must be the same peeps that are complaining about maintenance in early access, that the game didn't match their MMO experts expectations.
This is a game forum, not the Wailing Wall ... go do something with your life for a change instead of bitching around.
