Purchased from Green Man Gaming - Why was i charged additional $15 on redeem?

I just redeemed my imperial code from GMG.
everything was good.... until i realized that you took $15 from my credit card.
I thought the first month subscription was included in the imperial edition.
Why was i charged $15?????

    What they did was illegal especially since the total was $0.00, I"m on the phone right now the fraud department.

    i have a charge listed on my credit card as well, even worse is its in euros... why would australia/new zealand not be charged in USD....

    Oh.. you better have that fixed with the support team. I am in Australia and i was billed in AUD.

    Surely it's an error their side. You obviously should be able to redeem the game without setting up a subscription. I'm assuming this is the first time it has been available, so they'll probably change it shortly.

    Chances are, what you're seeing is simply an authorization on your card and not a charge. If you want to be 100% sure, you can check with your bank and/or review your current balance after a little while to confirm that it was only an authorization.

    Chances are, what you're seeing is simply an authorization on your card and not a charge. If you want to be 100% sure, you can check with your bank and/or review your current balance after a little while to confirm that it was only an authorization.

    I've never seen a company preauthorize for the full subscription price. It was my understanding when I entered my credit card information that I would not be charged at any way at this time. If i didn't have the funds available I would have been charged overage fees by my bank. You tell customers when entering their information that the card will be authorized and the funds will be unavailable for a period of time.

    What Jessica said is how I have always seen it. Every company does this when you give them your CC. They do this to make sure your entering a valid CC. I am sure your balance didn't change at all. Also I would never use a Bank Card for anything like this because a Card Credit company is going to be easier to deal with on money then a Bank. Also there is no way to overdraw a Credit Card to a Bank Debit card.

    Selling a game which includes "FREE" 30 days and still need to enter your billing information before you can activate your "FREE" gametime is not the way to go here, what happens to those who don't even have Credit Cards.. now they need to go buy a 60 Day gamecard which will cost them even more to just be able to use there 30 days "FREE" gametime.. makes absolutely no sense at all.

    If it is a authorization hold, then they can be for the whole amount.... this is determined by the ACH not the merchant FYI.... assuming it's an authorization hold and not a charge... look at your bank statement it should say pending and STAY pending until it drops off. This is likely done to make sure you have an authentic card and not something like a gift card or anything of that nature..

    I just entered my codes from GMG and I have a pending transaction. As of right now that's not a charge but why is it showing up now?

    It says I have 30 days game time remaining and I will be charged on May 4, 2014.

    I have more than enough money to cover the charge so I'm not worried about that, but I don't want a pending transaction on my card for an entire month.

    I got the same issue here. :( I checked my bank account right after applying the VISA card. It had taken 109 swedish crowns from my bank account, even though it said 0kr on the website.

    Not a fatal thing as long as i get the extra 30 days gametime after 1 month..
    But im worried you'll take money again in 30 days, resulting in loss of gametime..

    I can't see on the account page that i've gotten the 30 days free game time, nor the 30 days you just took. :open_mouth:

    IF i decide to resub, it will be with a prepaid timecard which i will not purchase until i am satisfied that i will want to play this game further than the claimed '30 days free game time'

    so how do we go about claiming our additional imperial items if we cannot enter the code on the site because we cannot enter our game code?

    Are you sure it was actually charged and isn't just pending?
    "Pending transactions" are transactions that are known to *******, but that haven't yet posted to your account.

    For some debit card transactions, the amount you see listed as a pending transaction may not be the final amount deducted from your account. For example, you may add a tip to a restaurant bill.

    Please note that pending transactions may not post to your account in the order listed.

    I signed up for 3 months recurring and there's a pending transaction of $77.94. It's not posted which means it hasn't actually been paid.

    Now the thing is why is it pending today? It's not due until a month from now so why have a pending transaction for an entire month? Is transaction going to show on my account for four weeks?

    Someone at ZOS needs to investigate this and post here for us. I'm not happy right now.

    I am so pissed regarding this atm.. it's not even funny, i was so happy when i received my game codes just now.. and apon entering them they want me to add a sub first and pay them another $15 for 30 days before my Imperial edition even comes activated.. this is complete BS.

    Do they even know how much they asked for the "Imperial" Edition and then want people to even fork out more money even though we have "FREE" 30 days.

    I authorized my account and the 14.99 was a authorization hold, it cleared off my account in about 20 minutes, no harm no foul.

    That's sort of what I was thinking would happen. I'll give it some time and see if the transaction clears off my account. It should. If it doesn't then there's a problem.

    Im about 99.99% sure you actually haven't been billed on your account yet, and wont be for the duration of your 30day free gametime.

    Every single MMO that has ever been released did this...

    You enter your credit card info, and they authorize the charge to see if your info is legit. An authorization isn't a charge. The amount is still available to you by your bank, at worst you have to wait a couple of hours for it to clear depending on how your bank works..

I am sure your balance didn't change at all. Also I would never use a Bank Card for anything like this because a Card Credit company is going to be easier to deal with on money then a Bank. Also there is no way to overdraw a Credit Card to a Bank Debit card.

    I've sometimes had companies tell me in advance that they will debit and refund immediately 0.01 pence. I've never seen them take the full amount and I've never seen it done without a clear explanation up front.

    In the UK banks have been known to take funds out of one account to pay off lack of funds on their credit card account.

    A game with 30 days play should not need credit card details until those 30 days are up, and if people decide they do want to sign up to a sub before those 30 days, no money should be taken or if they need to do a transaction for security reasons, it should be just for one penny and the customer should be fully aware before they click OK that this will, be happening
