Golden Pursuit was that it?

Cool costume yes but I finished it in 10 min? Is that all there is in this new system?

I thought there were more game activity to it then 10min

I suspect the first one was super simple for people to understand how it works and see the rewards half way and full way through

If it encourages people to participate in content and gives me a reward for doing so, I'm in :)

This was really disapointing, not the reward but the game activity you were required to do, feels like Zos thinks there playerbase are 5 year old kids

Maybe "Complete 2 Heists" and "Complete 1 Weekly Endeavor" should've been on this Golden Pursuit instead.

I mean the shortage of game activity you had to do in this new system. It feels like a joke from who ever came up with this.

I personally appreciate how fast and easy it was to complete. It's a nice change after the grindy nonsense some of their anniversary collectibles have put us through.

Maybe a middle ground would be nice though. :D

That was my reaction too lol, "was that it?"

Cool reward, potentially a cool system... I just expected a bit more. On PTS it had a variety of activities and a variety of intermediate rewards to earn. This was like one and done in 10 min.

I certainly don't want these to be super grindy, but I was hoping they'd nudge people to go participate in some new or older or different than usual content and bring some brief life back to places in the game that have been left behind.

The game is so dull right now without the old Q3 and Q4 content, I'd hoped for a bit more I guess.

On the other hand, I guess maybe the point is that this first one was simple enough that everyone can participate and learn how the new system works.

Regardless, thank you zos for the reward.

To be fair, this Golden Pursuit only runs for a week. If we get longer duration Golden Pursuits, like 2-3 weeks, we should expect to be given a lot more to do, if the preview on the PTS was anything to go by.

A bit short for sure, but I don't mind at all. More rewards for less effort than 5000 tickets every 3 months (exaggerated ofc)

It was very easy to complete, but I thought it was meant to be. A gentle introduction to the new system that shouldn't be a problem for anyone to finish.

I am interested to see how golden pursuits are set up in the future. I imagine at some point there will those I just have no interest in doing, much like endeavors are.

Anyway, I liked this one well enough--a few quick tasks and a nice looking final reward.

It's the first one, probably more of a test than anything else. See how the next few pan out.

Where’s the exclusivity to item rewards? Nord hero costume has been in the crown store like 3x and the Arrow emote has been in at least 1 maybe 2x. There’s really no point to doing them if you’ve won them through crates or purchased them before. ZOS needs to actually create new things for it to be interesting - reskins of mounts and recycled rewards is just boring, tacky, and pointless.

That is the impression I got too.

A gentle start so we can ease up into it. Nothing wrong with that me thinks.

The costume isn’t the Nord Hero costume; it’s different, a remodel. And the Arrow isn’t an emote—it’s an arrow that remains permanently lodged in your knee. Conceptually, they’re new rewards.

Overall, my problem with the system is the lack of rewards and activities. In the system they presented on the PTS, it seemed much more exciting and with more content.

From what I can tell, the Nord hero costume is not the same as the one that has been in the store. The text even says it's been updated with a few details for the anniversary. It may not be different enough to matter to some, but it's not simply the same one. As for the arrow thing, it's not an emote, it's an adornment. I don't recall seeing it in the store before.

Same reaction here. As was worried it would be a lot of work, but this is the total opposite. Too easy,. However, you may be right that it might have been simple to both introduce it to the players and to test it out. And maybe also because the High Isle event starts this Thursday.

Actually I am pretty happy with it. I mean I belong to those folks that have a full time job for a living and, believe it or not, also family and other spare time activities.

The only complaint I would have is that I miss a sort of narrative arc to it. I would like to have a sort of herold appearing in the cities announcing that sort of activities...

Seems very intentionally short, especially considering that the next event starts on Thursday. Probably didn't want to have too much of an intensive set of Pursuits that overlapped the event.

Things are likely to vary in future. Anniversary spotlight states:

"Of course, this is just a first taste of what Golden Pursuits can offer, with more in the coming months that will vary in scope, theme, and rewards! "

Between Daily Endeavors, Weekly Endeavors, Daily Quests, Daily Writs, Daily Dungeons, Weekly Trials, 38+ zones of content, and the never ending cycle of Events they probably didn't want to overwhelm us on the first Golden Pursuit any more than they already have. It's nice to have a new feature to give us unique rewards and I like the Golden Pursuits feature it's nicely done but I don't think anyone is running out of things to do in this game. Looking forward to the next one (hopefully it has the Covenant Hero :) Go Lions!)

[snip] I have a full time job to, family and do other things on my spare time but I still think they should have done more then 10min gameplay for the reward I have time for that in my life...

This, its an weekly event after all, more like weekly endeavors. I raced it thinking it might be an second layer as shown in preview. Only issue is that with the 4 of 4 you are forced to do all to get the reward and its not just 10-15 seals but something who could be cool.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

I agree. I mean, to each their own, but I'd rather like to keep chores short so I can focus on doing things I actually like in the game.

I know of course that no one has to do endeavours. But it's a bit of a pity that I get the impression that we get more and more of this chore/filler material to be kept busy instead of actual new content. Because running to Vastarie's set crafting station to craft a random item, running in circles pickpocketing, or using the same bookshelf 5 times to get currency isn't exactly an interesting alternative to doing a new quest (or playing a new dungeon or trial, or whatever other people enjoy).

I mean, if you want to mindless grind out some stupid arbitrary content for the sake of it... Nothing is stopping you.

If you want to have to complete 69,420 Group Dungeons to claim the reward, just don't bother claiming it until you've done that.

Meanwhile, I (And likely others too), will be pleased that something relying on generic gameplay tasks is quick and easy to finish.

Now, if such a thing was actually adding content, like a questline or some unique type of content, then sure. Having more engagement time would be nice. However, this isn't the case, nor is it going to be the case as Golden Pursuits are just Endeavors 2.0 with the same generic gameplay tasks and arbitrary numbers of times to repeat said content and thus, the lower the requirements the better.

I want everyone that plays this game to be able to earn the rewards from Golden Pursuits. If they choose not to, that is their choice. Some folks will finish the Golden Pursuits activities quicker than others. And that is fine by me, as long as everyone that wants to finish is able to finish before they run out of time, without having to spend every day multiple hours per day grinding it.

ZOS has the game logs, and they know what players are completing. I don't want them to pick something as required for Golden Pursuits that less than one percent of the players have ever completed.
