I used to play a life simulator from 25 years ago. People then asked what the goal of that game was, expecting there to be some achievable goal to it.

After pondering that for a few years I decided that it wasn't so much of a game with a 'win' situation at the end; rather it was a 'toy' that you could get out and play differently everyday.

ESO is a toy in that respect.

There is no end game, otherwise there would be a 'Game Over' message at some point.
    Game over, man

"Did you ever partake in PVE or where you always PVPing?"

I only PvE, I think I only ever did any PvP in the very early days of me playing the game, and that was more out of curiosity than enjoyment - I haven't been in Cyrodiil or IC for at least 6+ years, I disliked it so much. I have similar sentiments to grouping, the only time I do it is if I stumble across a bunch of people doing a WB I haven't done yet, which at this point is only some in the expansions.

I've still not got a max level character, and I'm in no rush to get there. That max level is something to work my way towards, once there, what's the point of questing etc when the XP is pointless? For me the point of Elder Scrolls is questing, story, always has been and will be.

    Trials with a guild
After most of my mates left the game in the last months i stopped running vet hm trials entirely. Will see if I can find something new to do but lately I’m a bit tired of eso. So for now just log in for the endeavors every now and then tbh

For me, end game means activities for which I need a specific equipment associated to a specific skills set up with a skill rotation to be learned, and team work. That would be dungeon hard mode and trials probably, IA maybe and some world bosses?

Since I never do any of those (I rarely fight), for me there is no end game at all.
I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA

    Fighting players (PVP)
Hmmm. A few more players in PVP than trials. I've always heard that the populations of both are around 5 or 6 percent accounting for 10-12% of players.

I've never understood why trials are not more popular in ESO. I mean really dungeons are a weak form of PVE that can be run on normal and with transmutes only have to be run a few times for gear. So the real end game PVE should theoretically be trials. The perfect gear in trials should be "end game".

As a passionate lover of all things story, I can't imagine playing any game for over 8 years for any other reason. All the other things that ESO offers can be loads of fun and very nice, but that's dessert as far as I'm concerned. The main course, and what satisfies me, are compelling characters, interesting lore, and the ongoing tales within the universe of TES. <3

What I consider my "end game" is usually collecting stuff.

New motifs, new furnishing patterns or new antiquities.
Veteran dungeons and DLC dungeons can also be something fun, collect all those busts and HM achievements.

Gathering achievements is another thing that can be fun to do.

And at random times, outfit station! One can spend hours there.

    The story
ESO has an endgame? I didn't know because I've never finished everything in the game because I keep creating and deleting characters trying to keep myself interested. While I love questing, sometimes it just becomes more of a chore than actually being fun... so I quit the game for a few months, return, start questing on a new character... get bored... leave again. While I love the stories and questing... sometimes it just starts to become too repetitive to maintain my interest.

This one refuses to participate until this Poll's Mega-ness is much more firmly established.

Khajiit has standards, it is known.

Its simply a poll attached to a discussion that involves as many players as possible. Its also a clickbait title and it seemed to work.
Making a game fun should be a priority. Making a game balanced should not come at the expense of fun.

This one still hasn't voted, nor participated, so it hasn't worked completely.

But khajiit is holding out hope for more convincing signs of tremendous Mega-dacity. He has incisive critique and insightful opinions to share.

I am intrigued. Maybe you can not vote, but still share your view points?

The ultimate goal of this thread is to provide insight on what players view as fun in ESO. "End game" is more of a generic MMO lingo that is another way of saying, "I can have fun and play my build to the fullest." Of course, there is different perspectives on this and that's cool. In the back of my mind, I was hoping that ZOS would see this and consider adjusting or correcting certain bugs/nerf waves/frustrations for the player's improvement of their "end game".
Making a game fun should be a priority. Making a game balanced should not come at the expense of fun.

I haven't been in Cyrodiil or IC for at least 6+ years, I disliked it so much.

Same thing here, I however do the training in order to get "Continuous Attack". Then I do the first quest of the Imperial City DLC in order to return to Tamriel at the same place I left.

During the afternoon of Loredas, 6 Sun’s Dawn 2e578 a big piece of Aetherius fell to Nirn. It was the first major piece of Aetherius to fall on Nirn in more than five hundred years. It scattered around the world as millions of shards. It was rapidly documented by Lady Cinnabar of Taneth in her pamphlet Aetherial Fragments that "... when three shards meet, they re-form into a silvery prism by unknown process and confer the power unlocked by the merger to a nearby being." The Order of the Black Worm, commonly known as the Worm Cult, reappeared in Tamriel shortly thereafter and some of its members are avidly searching said shards.
In the last week of First Seed 2e579, an arcane explosion occurred in the Imperial City — a night of storms, and trembling terrain. They named it the "Soulburst". That day Emperor Varen Aquilarios disappeared without a trace. His wife, Clivia Tharn, ascended to the Ruby Throne as Empress Regent under the guidance of the Necromancer Mannimarco. Ushering a time of increased instability within the Empire of Cyrodiil which finally grew into “The Three Banners War”.

Normally I would say that PvP is my end-game. Collecting lot of interesting armor sets and trying new combinations, meeting nice people to duel and showcase our mounts.

    zWUMwRm.jpeg

But with constant nerfs to sets and abilities, awful new animations for Biting Jabs and Flurry, no sound from Break Free ability, not meeting old known (to me) nice players, no interesting encounters in IC anymore, unsettling knowledge of AI system watching the chat... My end-game now is enjoying cosmetics and atmosphere :)

Recently I've discovered Graven Deep dungeon, and after doing it once with a group I just had to go there alone. Beautiful scenery and too much fun in this tiny underwater area <3

I've jumped into this magnificent tunnel 4 times to see it from all angles :D

I like to make builds. I like to see what builds are online. But I also like to pvp/dungeon to try them out.
