Mega Discussion Poll: What is your End Game in ESO?

The nature of MMO's is to grind to max level for the end game experience. Did you ever enjoy leveling up or the process to get to where you are now? Did you ever partake in PVE or where you always PVPing? Disclaimer: this thread may have been created after Azureblight's announced nerf. :)

What is your end game and was it worth it?

Leveling for the first time to 160 CP was painful. I have done both PVE and PVP. Cyrodiil was like what it is today, ball group intensified and keeps being taken while never strategically defended. PVE had its ups and downs as well. What kept me here was friends and the different sets to create a dragon, druid, ice mage, great sword warrior etc. I am not happy with the Azureblight nerf because my DK had the set on. It had a fire damage esthetic.

My end game is to get gear and create cool builds to solo enemies. It becomes increasingly harder with set nerfs to have fun with different builds.
Making a game fun should be a priority. Making a game balanced should not come at the expense of fun.

Choose other, as I love tanking (veteran) dungeons for other players. Though due to fake roles/speedrunners I have stopped doing this. Other reasons why I have stopped doing dungeons is constant tank nerfs(practically every patch it's tank nerfs again), one-shot mechanics(why even spec tank?!), and full inventory(including the regular inventory and transmute storage).

To me tanking dungeons and playing with other players is the endgame(did this in other MMO's too, have even considered going there again but I love ESO). Though I do first want to complete cadwell's gold on all 20 of my characters, before wanting to run dungeons/play with other players again. So may take a few years, especially with all the daily/weekly grinds ZOS has been adding.

    Also love the Infinite Archive.

PS: Leveling isn't just to reach endgame, I love leveling.
PPS: Remove the heavy armor negatives!! Why as a tank would I take more magic damage? Why as a tank do I always have to run after a group? These heavy armor negatives are not needed and hinder tank gameplay!

I don't have an "endgame". I play for hours every day, doing whatever seems fun at any given time on whichever one of my multitude of girls I'm playing at that point. There's so much content in this game I doubt I'll ever run out.... and having burned out in two other games on "endgame", I'm totally done with that forever.

I pve only. I enjoy questing, leveling alts, crafting, housing.... Most anything but group/instanced content, which I never do.

I would have said "The Story".
But that got severely "nerfed" (or is it "nerfd"?), too, during the last two years, so as sorry as I am about it, I probably spend more time with other busywork over the year.

I enjoyed leveling my character while playing through all the stories in chronological order (reached max level long before I ran out of story, of course). That was the absolute best time I had in ESO. But after starting in 2016 I eventually caught up with story content and had to wait for the new chapters from Summerset onward. So I did more and more collecting of styles, colours, furniture etc. in between.

My "endgame" is that when a new collectible thing catches my fancy, the majority of the time I can just go and get it.
Because I can do so much more things solo now than I could back then. (Bastian helped a lot with that. Making an Oakensoul Templar to do DPS grindwork did as well, my main character being a sword-and-shield Dragonknight.) Because I have millions of gold in the bank, and lots of the other currencies. Because my character has all crafting maxed long ago, and my crafting bag is full of all the things I might need. Because I have 100+ skill points lying around in case I want to buy a new/different skill line.
That's a mighty different feeling from the times when all those things were rare/limited/out of reach. So I consider "I can do almost anything I want on my own" my endgame.
PvP is still excluded, high end PvE (trials and vet DLC dungeons) as well. Because I'm absolutely not interested in this MMO-typical stuff, and have no talent for it as well.

What I've participated in the most is the story. But I don't consider that endgame. I consider endgame to be what I do after I've completed all the story content that's available.

I'm chasing achievements. I won't get them all because I like my not-meta-and-probably-not-good-enough-for-vet build on my main. So I won't be working on any vet achievements. I also don't like to PvP. But there are still quite a lot I don't have that I'm working on.

I'm also working on my lore library. So for me, endgame is chasing achievements and finding as many books as possible for my lore library.

    The story
I've always been playing this game for the story and exploration. Way back before CP, end game was Vet Levels and I had only gotten to i think Vet 10 or 12 before the change over, then ever since I'd been a bit behind in level grinding than most others in my tenure. (I JUST last night reached CP2,000)

But now, all of my characters have their set builds improved to Legendary, my Main has completed all Questing under the Sun, is a Master Crafter, and I have a couple million Gold in the bank. All I can do now is chill. Maybe catch up on Fishing achievements, play the Chapters as they come, and do Elder Fashion Online whenever they make a new Style I actually like.

Perhaps a PuG Trial when the mood strikes.

I could vote housing or pvp but I cannot say that I have an endgame, I only have favorite activities. That said, I had a goal this year to aquire and complete master crafting stations. After a few days of concentrated effort, I got it done by buying part of the stations with vouchers and the rest with gold. I placed them in my coldharbour house and redid the whole thing. Well, after that, I had the first ever feeling that I had finally beat the game.

I've only been playing for 10.5 years, with multiple characters across both servers and with one current account and a couple of more or less abandoned ones, so I'll be better able to answer the poll question when I reach endgame - which I studiously avoid doing in all the games I play as it only ever seems to lead to disappointment according to the forums. TaSheen's reply is pretty close to describing my playstyle.

    PvP and solo questing.

Long ago I thought end game was dungeons or trials, then as players CP rose, and the behavior in dungeons deteriorated, I came to loath grouping with anyone for anything PvE and stuck to PvP and questing. Now I have Archive to replace dungeons too.

Topics like this remind me that I have a very different perception of MMOs to some people. For me it's never been about grinding levels and gear or trying to rush past parts of the game. My 'end game' is the game. When I got to level 50, then CP160 (and whatever other 'cut off' points you want to add after that) I carried on doing exactly what I was doing before, which is mainly PvE questing and exploration (including dungeons) and occasional PvP.

I don't think I'd bother playing a game where I was only interesting in a few specific parts, especially if I had to grind through hours of stuff I didn't want to do before the game permitted me to start the fun part.

I don't think I have an endgame these days, I'm pretty casual these days. Right now, it's just endeavors, exploration, fishing, and skill point hunting on alts. I'll occasionally run a dungeon here or there. Same thing with fashion, my styles are mostly set in stone.

As for gear grind, I'm not sure there's a point to it for me. All my toons have a dps set (PoN, Rele, Zaan) and a healer set, that are mostly meta. In theory, I like the idea of more themed gear sets. But, the grind to get stuff like the IA sets isn't appealing to me at all.

Basically, my end game goal is to have fun.

So, where ever I am having fun, I will do that.

Grinding for gear to do WBs solo, or trying to get as many antiquities as I can, complete any quests I might have left laying around, it all depends on how I feel.

I pretty much feel the same and said in my own post.

For me, 'end game' doesn't look much different than early or mid game. About the only thing I likely won't be doing, at least very much, if PvP and anything that requires large groups of people to do. Other than that? I will do whichever activity I feel is fun that day.

I do whatever I feel like doing at the moment. It had always been that way, no matter which level.

Of course, some things are harder in the beginning, but I'd say the point where that gets less of a concern is reached rather fast in ESO.
