He is a rotted brain undead. He doesn't know how he was brought back to life. You meet him along the road in Glenumbra. The witches took pity on him and lend him a refuge.
A poor poor soul. But you can't just fully understand him. Because he only mutters half words. His jaw is a bit jarred, his tongue is loose. But you can see clearly in his eyes that he desperately seeks help.
He is very clumsy. And he's limping all the time. Sometimes his head will tilt to the side. But he's always by your side, riding, walking or running.
Your first assignment is brewing a concoction to speak with his spirit. He's very confused and can't really remember what's happened to him.
The second time you are asked help the zombie insistently tries to drag you to an old village. It's burned to the ground. It seems it was pillaged by a warband. But you manage to recover a beautiful embroided handkerchief. And just so his spirit manages to tear the fabric of reality and speak to you once more. He starts to remember. But not so completely.
The third time, it's a beautiful day. An apparition of the spirit comes back to you. He says he desperately need you to help his zombified body do an errand (the spirit can't interact with the living world, only his corpse and you can).
You go to a cemetery close to where you found the zombie the first time. He gets so excited and starts muttering broken words. You find a pair of graves at the top of a hill. One of them is violated. The soil was digged to clear passage. The other seems intact. Upon this other grave lies a stone with a woman's name. It is the same last name as the zombie's.
Your companion starts to cry uncontrollably but you can't really understand because nothing he says ever makes sense. His spirit won't show up to explain.
But there's another spirit. A beautiful breton woman in a silk dress. She introduces herself. She's the bride of the zombie. They were just married when a warband attacked the village. They were having a very happy life together. They loved each other just so much. They both died trying to save themselves.
For some unknown reason, the zombie was called to life again. She was not. In fact, she states that she can't stay in the living world. And asks you to take care of her bestest friend and lover. It is your mission now to help the poor half-living zombie enjoy this new breath of life. "Take him to visit beautiful beaches. We used to love beaches. Take him to watch the sunset or the sunrise. It was the activities we liked the most. But most importantly, take care of him. As he will take care of you."
The zombie is most of the time a comic relief. He walks funny, he barely speaks. "Let's talk about our relationship": "Uuh-ma aah. AAH!"; "What are your interests?": "Ooh... Aah. AAH. Worms!".
But he's very very kind and lovable. And will defend you even if it means dying again.
Some rare times you are given the opportunity to speak with his spirit. There you will get clarifications regarding his story. But the spirit is long gone after you complete the quests.
He loves flowers, going to beaches, dancing, watching the sunset. But most importantly: worms!
He doesn't like killing innocents. Or stealing. Or noble folk.
He's got unique zombie skills, like acid puke, arm-throwing (boomerang!), pestilence cloud, grave grasp.
His unique perk is a chance to not consume a soul gem. And recharging an empty soul gem periodically when killing a foe.
