I don't do companions at all. Sidekicks are SO not my thing.

Probably both. So far i have at least one character for each companion, extra loot and companion passives are always nice!

If I can claim them for free, I will give them a chance - as usual. If I'm going to really use them regularly after the first testing depends on their personality. There are personality types I like more, others I can't stand. It's too early to judge. I won't go by ZOS' descriptions, because Azandar "fatherly mad scientist mix between Dumbledore and Willy Wonka" sounded creepy to me, but it turned out he's nothing like that, and he's actually my favorite companion so far.

I doubt it. We'll see how they have the purchase structured.

If we have to purchase the companion separately for every tune, then absolutely not. Won't touch them with a 50 foot pole if they have to be purchased for every toon. If there is still a quest we have to do after BUYING the companions, I'm probably not going to buy them. And, finally, I already have six fully leveled companions I don't use. I don't need any more.

I may use Zerith-Var because I am curious how a Necromancer Companion would play, but am not sure I want to bother unlocking and leveling and gearing more Companions. Azandar and Sharp are my two favorites and I don't see me using any others.

It really depends on how annoying they are and whether I like what they bring to the fight.

I will probably get both of them and level them, but then will likely just stick to others.

I barely use the ones I already have anymore, so I haven't decided if I'll use either one of the new ones.

Unlocking them per character is BORING and I have no desire to repeat those quests more than once.
Mirri is the only one I have leveled to 20 and at full rapport for at least one of my characters (she's unlocked for roughly 5 of my 20 characters). [Combat] Leveling her didn't feel like torture, though I can't even remember the last time I summoned her.
But Ember and Izzy are still level 18/19 (I unlocked them when High Isle was the active chapter), unlocked for only 3 of my 20 characters, and I barely have the urge to summon either one anymore because leveling those two has felt like a different,
    S L O W E R experience than leveling Mirri was, and I got bored with it.

I have Sharp unlocked for two characters, and the old dude for one, but they are both still low level and rapport.

I unlocked Bastian on one character and played him for like 5 minutes (back when that chapter was the current one; was it Blackwood?) and haven't touched him since.

If ZOS will stop being stubborn and change the unlock to per-account rather than per-character, then I'd be more likely to use my current Companions (and future ones) more. If that doesn't happen, then I don't see myself devoting time to them anymore.

Most wholesome interaction, only compares to when you accidentally loot an item off of a Guild Merchant’s stall and Bastion loses his sanity.

      Other:

I don't use any companions, the AI is terrible, and some of the bad rapport triggers are just downright annoying.

Side Note: I will of course be levelling them and maxing them because I have to. The joys of OCD.

I am intrigued by the highlighted heavy sacks perk, but wish that they had added it somewhere more accessible and less monetized. His time travel story sounds like the more interesting of the two.

The thieving perk sounds better than the heavy sack perk, but I rarely have issues with locks, so I am not sure what benefit I would get from it. I am a little wary of entering into the real world social issue they have opened up. I try to distance myself from that sort of controversy, but I guess that in the game, it will be less of an issue. Can't say I am a fan of the hair color, though.

The bottom line is that I already have plenty of companions and don't have the inclination, or time, to train up more of them.

Or he just knows that most (or even all?) beggars in ESO are scammers (at least the ones that will approach you as a random encounter; it's different with the few war refugess one can give a few coins to). It's more than just slightly implied through their dialogues.
