I mean, if it vindicates anyone here I do play PvP and I don't find Imperial City particularly fun anymore. It literally is just a game of whack-a-mole where you either instantly drop over dead or have to chase down your opponent(s) as they pop in and out of reality constantly.

Like I and others have said every since event for years on end now: Luckily PvP is not even remotely a requirement for to get your tickets. Going in before the event with either a perma-stealth and/or troll tank build is our suggestion because it really does work - every single time. I do it myself because I really can't be bothered to deal with it during the event, because I too would like my tickets and I too don't really want to have to do any of these quests to get them. I too also don't want to get insta-killed by some nerd waiting around while I'm stuck in an animation and completely unprepared for a fight. If you're really not willing to deal with it this event, then you have six whole months after the event to get it ready for the next one.

I feel that each event should have pvp and pve alternatives to earn tickets. I wish pvp and pve were different meta games, with different abilities, spells, gears and so on. If someone does not want to do pvp, they should not be forced into pvp, if someone does not want to pve, they should not be forced to do pve either. This is why I never enjoy pvp in any mmorpg.

I ignore all the events. When they started the indrik race years ago it sucked all the fun out of this game.

I followed along the first year but now I only get some tickets now and then.

I stated already in a different post, but its needed here again:

If you dont want to do pvp, just make your dailies before the event started as prequests. Especially in the IC its very empty at some times, so you can do them like it would be pve without any interruptions.

In Cyrodiil, just do 5 bruma quests within 10mins and stack them on your characters.

As I said many times, this is ESO's creators motto "you want something, you must suffer". PVP is a disgrace but somehow ZOS think it is a wonderful experience. Even people who enjoy PVP knows that: ESO's pvp is dying.

I agree with you but there is one thing I don't understand, why do people who look for pvp, don't play games specifically for pvp? There are many of them out there, like League of Legends, DoTA2, SMITE, Naraka Bladepoint and so on. Why look for pvp in mmorpg?

Last Year's Necrom Event: 24 Tickets

    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/64773

This year's MYM Event: 39 tickets

That's 87 tickets for the quarter, 48 if you skip this Event, that's enough for all parts of the Onyx Indrik at the cost of skipping the current mount. Keep in mind, the Indriks are a catch up item, they were the event morphs of yesteryear.

Also, just in case you didn't know, it's 60 tickets total for the Onyx, not 40, you need the 40 for the berries but the 20 for the base indrik too.

40 tickets is the right number that are specifically needed for the Onyx Indrik. The nascent can be bought before or after (you can collect the Onyx berries first).

So only 40 tickets need to be spent over the three events this quarter, of which MYM is only the first. There are TWO MORE EVENTS in which to earn these 40 TICKETS.

Bold and caps meant to help OP, hopefully I did not overdo.

Just go into the NON CP IP campaign. Go into the Arboretum and take the quest there. It's easy and ALL the mobs you need are within eye sight of your zone in. In and out in a minute.

I used to do that when I wasn't a PVPer it's easy and hardly anyone in there even during events.

Note that you can stand in the Arena zone in a specific protected spot and get credit for freed citizens. AD is 2. I don't remember the others. This does rely on others freeing the citizens when you are in the right spot, something that may be slow at times.

On EP at least it's not dependent on others. You don't need to interact with the citizens themselves in many cases, as they will automatically escape if you kill enemies next to them, and for EP there is a two prisoner spawn where you can kill the enemies from the base. There is also a third prisoner the spawns on the other side, but I'm not sure without checking if the enemies linked to that one are in range or not.

Yeah and that marketing failed! They had to go b2p and add an expensive cash shop into the game on top of subscription. Even their priority has shifted considering how they refuse to even listen to complaints of pvpers. Clearly, it is not what brought you here. So why not switch to an actual pvp focused game?

No one is forcing you to go into the PvP areas. I don't PvP and have decided on days I feel like I might want to rebuild my ticket count I go to Cyrodiil, do a PvE daily of some type, collect my two tickets and call it a day. I've never considered IC worth the time for a single ticket.

Get some PvP friends that are willing to help you out. The elven garden district quest is completely group credit so those that do not want to drop off the base can complete it with friends.

The funny thing is a lot of the time the "pvpers" that are being complained about are actually just pve players in big groups who decide they are going to get together to do their quest and zerg down any unprepaired enemy they see, which is just another pve player. A lot of the groups people complain about are real squishy and can die easy if you have an medium teir pvp build because they don't know how to counter.

Imperial city is dead on normal days all this influx of people isn't actually pvp players its pve player who are either sort of geared or who are not geared at all but just got enough dps to cut through other pve gear. these group do not last long against actual pvp builds unless it's a ball group

but pve get angry at pvp players when a lot of the time its pve killing pve. all of the people i have been killed by were pve players with low hp and just more dps than me until I took advice from a pvp friend and made myself tankier

People who enjoy PVP are allowed to also enjoy narrative, quests, and other activities outside of PVP. Some of us prefer PVP with a backstory behind it.

I realize the person you are responding to does not enjoy Skyrim or other RPG's, but for some of us, PVP is a part of the roleplay aspect, and in that respect, ESO is a dream come true because we were drawn to the fact that we were able to PVP in a story-rich environment.

ESO's marketing didn't fail. It worked on many types of PVP players who come from a background of playing PVP games.

Keep in mind, that was 10 years ago and lest you forget the dark times that was pre-pivot, ESO was not in a good place prior to One Tamriel. Mount Specific Training, VR ranks, no Craft Bag, empty Cadwell's Silver/Gold servers, etc. People keep bringing up that PvP was an original marketing strategy, but how many people are still here from those day? What % of the population are they and if they did exist during those dark times did they come for PvP and stay or come because it was an ES game?

Uh PVP is still the sales pitch for ESO...its definitely not for the other content. I mean we go into that discussion if you want but there is a whole megathread on just how easy the other content is to the point you can afk through it and how PvP is the only thing semi-unique thing (thus the sales pitch) for eso.

I had to be pushed into PvP when I first started...back in 2015. Now I'm addicted to PvP and could do without PvE and be totally fine. PvP is the true test of skill in ESO. So it's the most fun and the most disappointing at the same time. You either get wrecked or do the wrecking.

Outside of the MYM news/tips in the news section blurb there's nothing on the front page about PvP as a selling point to ESO. Clicking on "This is ESO" takes you to

    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/discover

This is the literal sales pitch, of the 9+ minute video PvP literally gets less than a minute, resources/housing get more time.

The sales pitch is what marketing/exposure the company does, not what players feel like is the better content.
