Love, love, love this event. I see it as an easy way to farm Telvar and AP from PVP newbs. I wait all year for this event!
Love the event, it's fun to see Cyro so populated and have big fights (and it would be even more fun if performance wouldn't buckle under the stress of such fights but alas). The only thing I don't like is the barrage of posts we get.every.single.time the event returns from people who don't want to do it (as if they are, you know, forced or anything).

This event brings out the worst in certain players who live to grief people.

They stealth and kill people as they try to turn in quests.

I know people who tried PVP during one of these events and are so put off they never come back.

Yup, staking out the turn-in points happens all the time but it's worse during an event.

These are not PVP players looking for a challenge. It's straight-up telvar farming.

I usually stick to the no-cp areas during the event. The people camping on the turn-ins are after easy, no-cp is a bit harder.

I don’t hate this event. I enjoy the PvE aspects of the event, the dailies in Cyrodiil and Imperial City, but I stay out of any PvP as much as possible by sneaking in and out on my stage four vampire 🧛‍♂️

Biased poll. I usually just do the dailies. However, I am glad there is a pvp event though. It may not be my personal cup of tea, but pvp players need events too.

I guess the closest match could be the last non "other" option because it has "I only do the PVE village dailies in Cyro" . But "I hate PvP" is a bit too strong for me. I simply do not care about it. It does not exist for me. I go to Cyro only for the tickets and lately I'm even too lazy to "preload" the dailies in IC.

I love this event, and do wait for it all year- I even take time off for it because it's my favorite event. Many MYM's ago, I was picked up by a group of pact PVP players who taught me the ropes, and I've been playing for the pact ever since. I love helping to teach Cyro to new players, and helping experienced players get EMP.

Sadly my build is a little rusty because I've been sick for two months, but hopefully I can get my magplar's gear into shape within the next few days! Figuring out what gear I like is half the battle.

Also? This song right here pretty much sums up my feelings, lol

The design in my view is questionable.

The easiest way to get event tickets is to do PvE in PvP areas.

So, for people taking the easy route the only PvP you are going to see is if someone decides to go ganking in a PvE area which doesn't really make PvP look good.

I'd also argue that it's pretty blatant ESO's PvP design doesn't really work well for much of the game's audience. MYM would be a perfect time to start playing with different rule sets to see if other rule sets could actually get people to stick around after the event.

I love the event, but I don’t intentionally pick on “PvP noobs”.

I go for the big battles and rewards. I don’t have time to check everyone’s alliance rank to see what level they are.

I haven't really done PVP since my PVP guild disbanded a couple years ago. I used to love it but [insert old lady grumbling about the state of PVP] I'm glad for the event, I'll probably dip in for a few easy dailies and dip out, I don't really want anything for tickets and am at cap.

I prefer IC over Cyrodiil and MYM really brings it to life so yeah definitely looking forward to it. It's not about noob stomping or Tel Var gains, to be honest Tel Var gains only really apply to non-PvP'ers. Anyone comfortable with going in to IC outside of the event basically has Tel Var on demand and heaven knows a lot of us have more than enough.
I predict a lot of people will be sick and tired of NBs and Sorcs by the end of the event though.
Also will probably hate the huge increase in cold fire siege after the event as well.

Outside of events PvP is just not rewarding and too time consuming to even remotely be an option for me.

I dont hate it, but man, it just isn't fun.

Speaking of IC and the increased population there, does anyone still make the trek to the Central Bathroom to fight the Molag Bal simulacrum, or does everyone just run around the districts shooting fish in barrels?

I voted "Other" because I am somewhere in between Options # 2 and # 3.

I have played this game since about 6 months after it launched on console so, what, like 9-ish years of the 10 year celebration? Always been very much PvE and hated PvP in any game, not just ESO. I did think a big perk and selling point of ESO is that PvP is 100% optional and consensual. You can turn on auto-decline for duels. And if you wanna PvP, you have to actively queue up for Cyrodiil/IC/BGs. This is a stark contrast from, say, Red Dead Online where even if you put yourself into passive mode because you just wanna ride around chillin' on your horse enjoying the scenery, some PvP-obsessed person can still blow your head off and ruin your day for their personal lulz.

But I have evolved over time.

I started with just writing off ever getting Mayhem event tickets. Then after a few years, some kind soul posted a guide on the forum about the easiest/least-combative way to get Mayhem tickets such as "pre-doing" the IC district quests and doing scouting board missions for Cyrodiil. So I did that for many years, giving me some PvP exposure but not to a terrible degree.

Each Mayhem, I kinda dipped my toe in the water more and more. Tried BGs out of curiosity and found myself enjoying some of the objective/game elements. For the most part, I am apparently not a player who draws the ire of others so I haven't had any teabagging or hate-whisper incidents.

Then this past Mayhem earlier in the year, I noticed I was actually narrowing in on completing the last few holiday achievements for Mayhem just through sheer luck/accident/almost a decade of toe-dipping. I also was taking my IA build character into PvP which, while not being ideal, did mean a character built more for hybrid survivability/DPS because that's what IA requires to get further and further into the Arcs and that's more PvP-esque than a pure PvE divines build.

After a friend ran a little PvP tutorial for us and we had a chance to taste running in a small, organized PvP group, I find myself actually looking forward to this Mayhem. I have made a PvP build to try, knowing I can retreat back to my IA build if it's an unmitigated disaster. And I only need to kill a handful of IC wandering bosses and a sewer treasure scamp to finish off my missing Mayhem holiday achievements, so I actually go in with some active goals.

Went from 100% hating it to mildly curious to now actively looking forward to it. There are elements to PvP that can be annoying/rage-inducing, but at the end of the day it's not like I am losing gear/loot to the other players (except Tel Var, but I bank that every moment I get so enjoy the whopping 4 Tel Var you pick up off my questing corpse LOL) and I can always go offline mode if anyone gets salty. The double AP will also be nice to try and get as many toons to Tier 1 as I can for those delicious end-of-campaign transmute crystals. :)

It's a long slog to get there just to die when you get zerged down and have to make the 15-20 minute trip back. The best bet is to go down there in a full group that can hold the center for an extended period of time. And this is a lot less common since ZOS deleted the 24 person groups. Guilds used to have events for up to 24 members on a regular basis, but you don't see it much any more since they limited participation to smaller groups.

Here are the thoughts of a long term eso player - originally joined for the story, rp fan and creator and big pve lover. Two years into the lore nothing becomes surprising anymore. The pve content is as repetitive as it can get - trials and dungeons included. You do it once to learn the new mechanic - and that's it. Maybe a few more times for the fun of it if there is a group and some interesting novelty - but that's about when it gets old. Pvp is and remains the only interesting content to explore over the years, with or without a group - and the only reason to play on a regular bases, what otherwise is just another closed chapter. And no I am not a good pvper. Or player in general. But it is a reality I have lived on my own and see it in others as time goes by. Many of those I knew back when I begun are no more - and many others are just passengers. Keep pvp alive if you want a stable player base, and use the events to get accustomed to it and dive in without fear. Players are not repetitive dungeon and trial bosses, even when they (dully) wear the same builds.

None of the answers really fit well. I'm not a PvP'er, but I'm happy for PvP'ers to have an event where the stuff they like to do is the focus of the event (y'all have fun!). I'll knock out some settlement dailies and grab a bit of AP for my alts, but it's otherwise an event that I don't pay a lot of attention to.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

I usually front load IC quests for easy tickets during, but I also go in and run the dailies every once in a while for fun. Cyro I do during the event because it's much more casual. I don't hate pvp at all. I think it adds a layer to the game that keeps people playing for longer after they've done all of the PVE stuff. It's unpredictable and sometimes very intense.

I'm just not geared for it and I completely understand when I get mowed down by someone while trying to do a quest.

PvEers will be especially frustrated, since the new knockback and pull scripts are ubiquitously used in PvP. Those who dread getting ganked/zerged will experience a new, unprecedented level of exasperation, thanks to the introduction of scribing in Update 42. :)
