MYM! What do you think about it?

Well the servers are down during my prime time play time so thought I'd get some insights into the minds of my fellow ESO'ers.

As MYM is about to descend upon us what kind of player are you and how do you feel about this event?

**Newsflash. This is NOT A SERIOUS POLL**

Love, love, love this event. I see it as an easy way to farm Telvar and AP from PVP newbs. I wait all year for this event!

I don't mind this event. I see it as a way to gain some assault and support skills for my alts. I might also enjoy dipping my PVE toe into the PVP water (but only for as long as the event lasts).

MYM is always a blast. :) I’m already seeing some new PVPers joining our guilds ahead of the event, and it’s so fun to hear them exclaiming “that was awesome!” in Discord when we wipe a big group or successfully defend a key keep that has multiple holes in the wall. Their excitement is infectious.

PVP isn't my thing, but I'm glad that there are events for people who do like it. I pop in and help out if the social guild I am in are trying to help someone get emp or just for a bit of silliness, but I don't expect to do anything except be a meat shield.

With the lag fixes. MYM is a great way to see massive scale battles. I’ve just managed to pull back 4 veteran players that quit after summerset. All are back and all PvP’ers. They’re shocked about how good the lag situation now is in Cyro and all of them are really hyped for MyM. Also, didnt see the part with ‘want to steal telvar from noobs’. I’d rather help them.. sometimes..

Great that this topic was made, and the options are SPOT ON!
    From a PvE perspective...
I'd be scratching my head over people dreading to go to Cyro to gain some APs IF I hadn't been of the similar mindset.

    The solution:
Join a guild - be it PvP or social - OR go with friends.

When in Cyro, join a ball/group, and farm miserable sods who play solo (I used to be one of them xD).

Even the most skilled ones get killed in 1vX. Don't kid yourself, you will die. But so will players YOU deal the lethal blow to ^^.

Enjoy the slaughter - PvP in ESO is fun.

I like the event. Zerging can be fun and every Mayhem puts me a bit it closer to GO. Any year now. I will unlock those dyes before they sunset the servers. Probably.

As I posted in another thread, outside the event, for someone of my (lack of) skill there is only building maintenance and general repairs to do in Cyro; PvP in ESO is like there is only either daily writs or vHM trials and nothing in between (to use a PvE simile).

I have dipped my toes a few times in Ravenwatch because it feels a bit more forgiving but that is going away next patch so... Yeah, wall goblins assemble and all that to look forward to.

Yeah I unlocked the kill 100 sorcerers dye recently. I think I have the kill a Grand Overlord Murder Mahogany dye also (obviously from some zerg somewhere) but I will also be waiting a LONG time before I get most of the pvp achievment dyes!

For me MYM is time to put a podcast on and do a LOT of staring at keep walls while pressing my 'q' button ;) I considered doing flaming oil or making a bomber build for when the "enemy" breeches "MY" keep that I have so carefully repaired to almost full health but... nah.

I like that there is an event dedicated for PVPers, even though I am not one.

I usually participate partially, by doing battlegrounds (not much into Cyro and strategising, let's just kill each other ;) ).

PS: option descriptions are a bit too specific. I like the event and that it brings more people to PVP, but I'm nowhere near the level of giving advice...

Agreed. Some of the poll options felt a wee bit biased when I originally responded, but I don’t want to quibble overmuch. I also love MYM and look forward to it all year — not because it’s an opportunity to farm new PVPers or PVEers, but because it’s an opportunity to see massive offensive / defensive ticks, and an opportunity to make new friends. It’s a lot of fun seeing people who were initially nervous about PVP blossoming into regulars.

Kill a Grand Overlord. Ha! I got that one, and it was either a gift or a fluke.

A few years ago I left Bleaker's Outpost (IIRC) and was riding toward Chalman Milegate when I passed a stealthed EP player. I circled back to look for them again, and when I found them I decided to attack-- expecting to die, but I had recently lost my fear of dying in PvP and was starting to have fun with it, so I figured "Why not?"

They stood up when I started attacking them, but never fought back at all, so I just kept whacking away with my greatsword until they died.

And then a big notification popped up on my screen announcing that I'd just earned the Kill a Grand Overlord achievement.

Gulp! I don't know if the player had gone AFK before I stumbled across them, or if they'd decided to just let me kill them, or what, but for the rest of the night I felt like I was riding around with a huge bounty on my head. :)

Perfect time to climb up some pvp ranks for me. Without the double ap it feels so less rewarding to spend time in cyrodiil.

For me this is one of the worst events, as I'm totally over the competitive thing. Played a hardcore PvP game for a long while, and I'm no longer into that. I like to relax and hang out in PvE. (If I wanted real PvP, I'd go back to that other hardcore PvP game)

During MYM I just get in and out as fast as I can, while getting my tickets. Not saying this event does not have it's moments, but it's just not for me anymore.

PS: Why do we need to go into two different PvP settings for all the available tickets?!? (two possible queue's)

First option would be the pick if not it's strange description, so this one would do. As a pve player that's the only event I actually waiting for to break the monotony. Giant sieges are the best thing there (when the ball groups are somewhere else) so can't miss that time of the year even if playing different games nowadays mostly.

What on earth are these poll options?

It's a fun event that brings a much needed spotlight to ESO PvP. If you don't like PvP, you can skip both Whitestrakes events and still collect all event ticket items throughout the year. I often miss Jesters and New Life due to doing it all so many times, and I'm still overflowing with tickets come years end.

It can be fun if you approach it with the right mindset.
Hooking up with a group and doing keep sieges and scrolls runs are the most fun for me, but that can be any other time of year.

MYM gives 3 nice bonuses for me:
    1. With some AP buff food I can get to tier 3 campaign end rewards stupid fast.
    2. As a PVE main it's one of the few times I may meet other players like me who I can actually defeat
    3. The extra reward boxes are niiiice B)

As a PvP main player for over 8 years, MYM events used to be my favorite events. Not anymore. Not with population caps of 60-80 players/faction. You can't even get into your campaign to participate now.

ZOS used to make changes so that performance was better during MYM, but it's been a few years since they did that. Apparently people caught on to the fact that ZOS actually can improve performance in Cyrodiil and are choosing not to do so.

How about ZOS limits the next PvE event to only 60-80 players participating in the event at any given time and see how that goes over? I'm serious. Why not treat the PvE community the same way they treat the PvP community? Force the PvE community to wait in queue for however long it takes to get into only a few instances of the event that are pop capped at 60-80/faction and see what the players have to say about the limitation.

Although I once enjoyed taking part in mayhem, I find it stale and boring in the current state of pvp... but most of all, I am tired of how it tends to pit certain parts of the community against each other.

So I mean I don't hate it, I'm happy pvp players get an event to enjoy and I'm happy to skip it and play something else.

I don't care about it one way or the other. I'm sitting on 12 tickets each account, both PC megaservers, will buy a berry on my new account both servers, and go on my merry way.

Not ever going to pvp again, so *shrug*. I don't see any reason why those who enjoy pvp shouldn't have more than just a couple events though.

I don't PVP a lot but I do enjoy the WSM Events as it makes for large jumps in the Alliance Rank and someday, I will at least get to Legate black maybe even get some stars.

The most important thing if PVP isn't your thing is to face that you're going to die a lot. This is much easier to face if you do it with guildies and can have camps and things to help shorten the run back to the fight.

Blocking on flags and doors and just leave alone the tower and rock humpers as unless PVP is your thing even a small group isn't going to kill them so just move on and save the frustration.
