How do you feel about farming a Trial for Savior of West Weald achievement?

There are no damage requirements for normal HoF.

Your reassurance that there are no dps requirements, while nice to hear, doesn't help with the reality of criticism and vote kicks I deal with whenever I've attempted random normal dungeons, let alone trials, beyond base game. And I don't have the spoons to fight through that for an achievement that should be part of completing the zone.

This requirement killed doing achievements for me. I have been trying to complete as many as I can, but this is out of my reach.

I have never done a trial and I have no desire to do one.

I hate when things get gated.

    Do not care
I think a lot of people are missing the point here.

Yes, we've not needed antiquities/trials/fishing/etc. for the "Savior of" achievements until Necrom. But look closer at them...

The "Savior of" achievements have been for doing the story quests and grant a title and a dye. That exact achievement still exists for Gold Road and Necrom with the same requirements. The only difference is that they called that now "Hero of," and then they added a new achievement with a mount as a reward for doing the zone stuff, plus more.

Essentially, everyone who's annoyed that ZOS is now 'requiring' a trial for the "Savior" achieve isn't realizing that they're still getting the same achievement and the same reward (just under the word 'Hero' instead of 'Savior') for the same content. What people are choosing to forgo is a brand new achievement with a brand new reward (a mount).

So this question is a bit disingenous - you should actually be asking "Do you care that ZOS changed the name of the achievement from 'Savior of' to 'Hero of'?" Because that's literally the only difference. Or, you could ask "Are you mad that ZOS added a brand new achievement that rewards a mount, but requires you to do fishing and dungeons/trials?"

And as an anecdote: it's perfectly fine to encourage people to play other modes. Sometimes you'll find you like them. Sometimes you won't. But sometimes it's good to spice things up a bit.

I'm not a fan. I noticed these titles are getting harder to achieve. They started this trend in Necrom, and it was the first expansions I didn't get that achievement. Especially if there's leads required, I'm just going to skip it entirely. I just feel like it's so hard to get some of these, and my time is super precious, so for me, it's a pass.

I'm curious why they're going in this direction though.

Necrom was the first basic game play I couldn't finish. It was too hard finish as I am a casual player outside of pvp.

I feel they got my money under false pretenses in that I never thought I would be closed out of the main story. And to find out it now closes me out of the next chapter means I will Never buy another.

    More of this please
It looks like one of the leads for the Rourken Steamguards antiquity drops from the last boss in normal HoF. This antiquity is required for the Antiquarian Chase: West Weald achievement which, in turn, is required for the Savior of West Weald achievement. This is the first time completing a Trial (possibly multiple times if you are unlucky) is required for the Savior of ... type of achievement. How do you feel about this?

Edit: to avoid misconceptions I would like to add that I'm fine with playing with other players (dungeons, ToT), I'm fine with leads added to Trials. This poll is about a Trial being required specifically for Savior of ... type of achievement.

    UPDATE:
I followed the advice given in this thread and managed to PUG it through the group finder and ended up with people that knew what they were doing. When asked for an advice one of them told me "Nothing to learn, it's normal. Just do not stand in red" (which I tried to do).
Felt the whole time as an imposter that should not be there with my DPS (had to switch half way to 1 bar Oakensoul to deal with less stuff and make DPS a bit higher).

Anyway, either the DPS of other people was very high or they really knew what they were doing, but half of the mechanics that I read about did not materialize.

Got the lead, but my vote still stands "This should not be a part of Savior of ..." achievement for the zone.

No offense, but a trial has a lot going on. Even the best players do not perform well the first time in a trial but improve as they learn.

Additionally, many good raiders practice their rotations to the point they do not need to think about them, which allows them to pay more attention to the mechanics regardless of how familiar they are with the content.

Regardless, having this put into a normal trial is not a big deal. It was purposely done to encourage more players to try raids.

Wait they've locked this achivement behind a trial now too? And most likely having to do it multiple times too?? That is utterly ridiculous, more so considering the 10 year skin you can unlock too. I haven't even got the new expansion because of multiple reasons, and this certainly doesn't help the case.

I was worried about it originally, but then they made killing clockwork enemies a weekly endevour, and completing a trial a daily endevour on a weekend, and so I've managed to get 2 endevours and 1 lead in one go...

For me it is very disappointing. They started adding extra requirements to this type of achievement with Necrom. If was fun for me (and I completed it), but Z'Baza lead was a definite overkill. But Trials is where I draw the line.

See, for me, the trial I can tolerate but the Z'Baza thing is just annoying.

They should be doing way more with trials, so people get used to it . It’s can be fun and for something like a 10 years anniversary you should have been at least ones in a trial . Maybe we get even something with PvP in the future that would be nice

Nah. I'm not really a fan of Ironman achievements. This game is very diverse, and what I think they need to be doing is focusing on the players doing different things, not trying to make all the players do the same thing, or everything.

    I'm disappointed.

Trials aren't for everyone, and I'm not interested in them any more. In my opinion end-game content should be off the table as requirements for basic achievements.

TBH I hadn't realised this was the case until I read the OP post. That means Saviour is not going to happen for me, which will put me off completing the rest of the content.

Shame. I thought Gold Road had a lot to offer.

UPDATE: I am going to add to my post here and reverse my opinion. When HoF was rewarded as a daily Endeavour, I used the Group Finder to join a PUG. Group forming was actually really quick, and anything on Norm should be straightforward if the group is half-decent. It also seems like the lead drops 100%, which was a very good call by ZoS.

So, I take back my comments. It was actually so easy I did it on two other accounts I have, including one fairly low level.
