10th Anniversary in-game aftertaste: What's your impression in total?

The event ended on consoles and almost ended on PCs.
After it ends, what are your feelings in common? How was it for you?

It is supposed to summarize all the aspects of the in-game event: boxes, styles, horse, the new chef, decorations, etc.
I don't include the PTS incident in my personal mark; it is a separate part for me. But I understand that it is included for people whose accounts are locked out. So this moment is up to you.

I missed the first part of the event due to the Amsterdam celebration (my choice, of course) and then had my account locked after only getting ~3 days of play time in. I enjoyed the time I did get to spend farming boxes, but I can't say it was a positive experience overall lol.

Disastrous. I can't actually say what I think here.

Literally every single player I know in ESO is some combination of burned out (at best), angry, or quitting. Happy anniversary!

I get it that April 1st was April Fools Day but did we really have to suffer April Fools Day almost the entire month of April?

This whole Event/PTS Fiasco has been nothing but One Big Joke. No offense meant towards those who were locked out.

I can't help but wonder why it is that Zos wanted us all to remember the 10th Anniversary this way.

    It was a Grindfest.
Plus it has turned the community totally upside down.
We now have PCEU and PCNA players going for each others throats due to the maintenance announcement
We also had those who weren't locked out vs those who were....
And I am sure I am missing more.
But I think you get the point.

    *walks off smh*

I got lucky and got all my style pages early but I loved it (I spent 4 hours on staff of worms at the longest). The passive 100% exp boost, the fact that those style pages are finally available in the first place. It was nice to have some tangible goals and rewards to work for from content I'd stopped doing long ago.

I've specially been enjoying the thieves guild and dark brotherhood themed endevours. I've really come to appreciate the map design of Hew's Bane, probably the single best city in the game from a raw gameplay and fantasy stand point. I wish they'd do more crime-themed DLC.

Getting Thieves Guild and Orsinium for free is just great all around to be honest. Two of the best DLC's going, fingers crossed clockwork city is next...
Desperate for Roleplaying servers to bring open world non-organised RP to Elder Scrolls Online. Please ZOS.

And to rub salt in the wound, they schedule the restoration maintenance to cut off the event so that people who were locked out can't even interact with the event after being freed.

It ought to be COMMON SENSE that this would call for another extension, but, well, here we are.

ZOS should extend this event by at least 1 more day to give locked players catch up with event fragments/cakes etc from Impresario, why did they even bother by extending by 2 days when affected players didnt even get to use this time

I'm pleased with the box drops. Got luxuries up to Cipher.
Rare styles look good and rewarding.

    Unpleasant things for me:
Free-to-play period in the beginning. I don't like crowds, especially on boss farm.
Suspicious scheme with the horse fragments.

I don't write anything about the PTS incident, because it would be either a lie or break the community rules.
I hope the Thusdays restoration of the accounts will go smoothly.

The good: having boxes drop from world events, final dungeon bosses and WBs as well made it easier for me to farm the loot, as doing only dailies gets tiresome. I did a mix of dailies and world events and it worked nicely. I liked the cake slices.

The bad: I can't separate the event from the PTS fiasco because the latter prevented many people from enjoying the event. It's a bit like being invited to a big birthday party but leaving some people to watch it through the window, in the cold. The style page grind was absurd and incompatible to what a celebration should be. Sure, having to make an effort to get the shinies is fine, but going through hundreds of dolmens or geysers or WBs and maybe getting nothing spoils any fun. The jubilee horse requiring more parts than could be obtained from golden boxes was a low blow. The event being extended because of a few hours of maintenance but not because of the players who spent 10 days unable to play is wrong.

The ugly: who eats cake while riding a horse?

In sum, it didn't feel like a celebration and I now worry about the next 10 years.

    The Good

Jubilee boxes were added to more activities. This is a very welcome change imo. I hope it sticks around next year.

The cake slices furnishing is pretty and perfect for bakeries. Best of all, they don't require the memento

This game has made it 10 years 🎉

Most of the style pages were nice looking and basic

Communication and compensation for a big problem was improved.

    Edit:
    Nyeigh Horse! 🍰 🐎 🌈

    The Bad

Players were grumpy in zone chat

Perhaps just conspiracy but I feel like provisioning recipes dropped more frequently than before in lieu of other, better rewards. I could be wrong about that though

The mount required extra tickets to be earned.

Cake slices tied to achievements from event ticket purchases

Bonemold, Saberkeel, and Worm Cult really should be in a grab bag by now IMO

The jubilee horse 🐎 has a weird texture on its rump

    The Ugly

Event style page grind was completely unreasonable imo. It completely ruined the event for many people, myself included. Limited Time, Bound, Rare. Pick 2. Seriously.

The Event was extended for 2 days for PC-NA. And then that extension was retracted by one day. Some players may not be able to get the Jubilee mount that they would have gotten if the announcement hadn't stated they'd have 2 days to get it.

    The Spectacularly Awful Disaster

Players were unfairly locked out of their account for a week. And also had to deal with the stress from negative community reactions to their (well deserved imo) compensation.

From my own subjective experience I really enjoyed the event. I can see however how the overall feeling may be different. I have been relatively lucky with my drops and enjoyed all the jubilee crates and all the goodies. I like the mount and impressario stuff. For those locked out of accounts I can see that would really take the joy out of it. (I do think that it was well compensated though, even though it shouldn't happen)

The boxes worked, the cake worked... but like... all my dungeon motifs are now devalued and I don't have the inventory space to save them all. Getting Trueflame was nice even though I'm not gonna use it. Generally just meh, like any ESO event is.

the event itself was business as usual so mostly fine, BUT... the way they handled multiple issues was just.... awful IMO.

    1. adding an event collectible that only has 1 fragment drop per day and making it so that the last 5 fragments can only be purchased from a vendor with tickets.
    2. messing up the pts and making a ton of people miss parts of the event as a result
    3. extending event only to pull the rug from under people still playing by scheduling maintenance to start AT reset timer for the last day.

Everything was great. I enjoyed it.
For myself, considering just my play account, it’s been great. I enjoyed the great rewards, additions, and decorations. I understood the style pages were to be rare drops, so was happy to get the three I wanted while leveling up Fighter’s Guild.

Number one detraction to me was the PTS disaster. Maybe it could not be handled any differently to bring the players whose accounts were effected back into the game faster, but in that case the event should have been extended or the locked out players receive additional compensation more in line with what they actually lost out on.

Number two is this completely unnecessarily rocky ending. I never count on the last day of tickets since reset time was moved and there is often maintenance, but I cannot fault other players for taking ZOS at their word (welcome, new players!) but this could have been avoided by not having events end just a few hours after reset or further extending the event.

Number three, while not an issue for me in this event, I think the move to increasingly bound-on-pickup rewards unfortunate. I think the drops should not have been bound and the pages also available for tickets (those bound), or a droprate that increased with tries or zone/quest completion or something along those lines.

So no poll choice perfectly sums that up, but I thought it more informative to vote how it was for me personally, concerns aside, than to vote Other in this case.

While I avoided the worst of it, I feel for the people who have been locked out through no fault of their own and for those who have spent days grinding for the motifs and not getting them.

On the upside, gotta love holding up my cake while riding a horse with a poo stain on its butt that farts glitter

Tons of reward boxes, tons of ways to earn them. Farmed hard at the start of the event and got all the style pages within 3 days, with the most onerous grind being ~6 hours of dolmen farming on day 1. After that I just played like normal for two weeks, with S. Elsweyr dragons mixed in whenever I was bored and wanted more boxes.

I didn't love grinding geysers or dolmens, but I'm glad they're adding more rare-drop chase prizes to the game. And the style pages look great -- especially Trueflame. Well worth the <1hr of fishing boredom.

Big-time bummer for the PTS folks who got locked out, but at least they get all the style pages + radiant apex mount's worth of seals to compensate. It's simultaneously obscenely generous and completely unfair, considering the amount of mats/wealth the jubilee boxes hold. Inevitably the compensation will make some people happy or envious, and other people disgusted or furious, but ya can't make everyone happy.

    Good first:
    • I got all my Companions’ Guild skills maxed out as planned
    • I made my personal CP goals for the event
    • My first ever Aetherial Dust! 🎉
    • Small handful of new Motifs and furnishing recipes learned for my main
    • Lots of purple Provisioning recipes learned on my alts
    • Nice seeing a new Anniversary quest
    • I enjoyed the haiku thread

    Bad:
    • Only 4/5 Event style pages despite grinding for multiple hours most days
    • Server interruptions from things that really shouldn’t have caused interruptions
    • Fallout resulting from same and the attempts to clean up the resulting mess
    • Having to buy bits of the horse with tickets by default was never a good idea and the concept should have died with the Firepot Spider pet

I got stuff done but I’m burned out and I can’t in honesty say that I had fun, and this is usually the best event of the year.

I'd like my inventory space back. I've been "forced" to save so many recipes for an alt in the future (my only main is templar since 2019) and I dont know what to save/sell etc and have used/learned most, extras are all in the bank taking up room. (no sticker book to put the learned recipes in for alts to use later)

Other than that, it's been ok, kinda lackluster for a decade long anniversary. Nothing in the anniversary was something that years from now i'll be like "Oh i got that in the 10 year anniversary of the game"
like I can say in many other games with Unique gifts during these events that are handed out for free.

I hope im not offending anyone by saying that. Just seems like any other day in ESO with increased drop rates but the drops are in boxes not off mobs.
